Hi Richard, I am a little confused. In the video regarding rooting of a cutting, you trim off the bottom before sticking the cuttings in water to grow roots. However, in this video, you didn’t slice off the bottom before sticking the cutting the soil. Can you explain the difference as to why one requires trimming off the bottom and the other doesn’t?
@GraftingDragonFruit
@GraftingDragonFruit 2 года назад
Hi Anhthy, both ways are correct and you can get them to root with either method. There’s many ways to root them but when rooting them in soil you’ll want them to have a dried callus before planting in soil. Rooting in water I like to have a fresh cut this helps stimulate root growth. Hope this helps!

Hi Richard I live in the Bay Area and the weather doesn’t get super hot, maybe the hottest is 85 about 75-80 on average and it’s always super windy in my backyard. Should I or can I move my plant outside? Do you think it’ll survive the weather? Right now I have my plant inside cause this particular room is much warmer. Im afraid if I bring it outside it might die. Our weather here is pretty bipolar, some days it’s windy and cold and some days it’s sunny. Any advice?

Grafting Dragon Fruit so can I leave it out at dm direct sunlight or should I find a shaded area for it? And when it rains is it ok to leave it outside still or should I bring it inside for rainy and winter seasons? Sorry for asking so many questions, you might’ve addressed these issues on your other videos but I didn’t seem to find them. Thanks for the reply!
@GraftingDragonFruit
@GraftingDragonFruit 4 года назад
If the weather is around 75-85F they can sit in direct sunlight without a problem. Only worry of direct sunlight if it’s 95F+ outside, that’s when I would put them in shade. For winter time, if it rains a lot or floods then take them inside. They don’t like to be wet for too long. That’s when disease start to appear. If it only rains a couple a days no need to worry. But longer than 5-7 days you should take them inside. If winter drops below 34F then take them inside. 😉

Which IV Organic fertilizer do you recommend? The NPK of 2-4-4 or the NPK of 13-14-13?

Started growing dragonfruit almost a year ago. I was told that it had to be transferred to the ground. So I did. (Dug a hole deep enough to be filled with almost 2 bags of soil....) Well, we got hit by the winter freeze in TX and the "cactus-looking part" turned sort of brown and looked like it was filled with water (the leaf itself. Yet, this was "covered" the minute we knew the freeze was coming. After a few days, more parts look brown and dry but other parts just look like they're wilted. Is there any chance for this to regrow/live? Most of our plants turned brown, even the sago palm. we had to cut off all the dead leaves. I am very frustrated as I was really looking forward to these fruits, esp that I have been diagnosed with cancer twice. I just believe in this so much that's why i tried to plant one. This was given by a friend, whose dragonfruit plant also died. Do you sell any of these plants (esp the yellow and red ones, which, I learned from your videos)? Do you mind shipping them to me (TX)? Please? I am so tempted to say, 'I"m begging you."
