In this video I'll show you all the necessary steps to complete your motorcycle's basic oil maintenance at home. These steps are based on the information available in the CB's service and repair manual. Even though I am not a mechanic at all, these steps are really simple, and anyone should be able to execute them without any issues.
Any questions? Feel free to leave a comment, I'll reply as fast as I can.

To anyone wondering, I had to reupload this video as I found some mistakes after it was published. I always try my best to deliver the best quality I possibly can, but I am still new to content creation and sometimes mistakes happen 😅. I am sorry for any inconvenience and I hope you enjoy and learn from this video. ✌

Hey Rodney, sorry but I do not speak spanish, I can however understand it a little bit 😅. I am guessing you are asking about the oil, it is good, the engine works fine, no strange noises, no leaks. I am going to change the oil again soon (probably won't film it this time), I can give you feedback about how the oil looks then.

I didn't understand the final step, why when you added oil the first time did you start the bike and then add some oil again? couldn't you add the correct amount directly the first time?
@ChillMotoRides
@ChillMotoRides 8 месяцев назад
Hey man, You can add the 2.6 liters of oil the first time and just not do anything else. I guess as a percaution the service manual tells you to let the bike run for a couple of minutes so the oil can flow and spread all through the engine and then to double check the level to make absolutely sure that it is correct. In the video I showed the complete procedure to be as faithful to the manual as possible. I hope this answers your question.

Hey @@ChillMotoRidescool video! By the way, when you checked the oil level. Where does it have to be on the stick? In the middle of min and max or just above the max? Because mine is in the middle and my idle is uneven while warmed up... so I guessed it might want some more oil. Thanks!
@ChillMotoRides
@ChillMotoRides 3 месяца назад
@@izakf5301 Hey man, thanks for the compliment on the video. The oil level should be as near as possible to the max level but not above it. Please also make sure you're reading the oil level with the bike upright, this is very important!

@@ChillMotoRides certain amount of oil gets in to the filter once you fired it up hence you should check the level after initial startup

this might seem like a dumb question, but the oil you put in was clear and what came out was dark, why?
@ChillMotoRides
@ChillMotoRides 6 месяцев назад
Hey Duarte, there are no dumb questions, we only learn when we question things. Well, you might not know but motor oil actually has many other functions aside from the obvious that is lubrication. Motor oil also contain aditives that clean the inside of your engine of carbon residue created during combustion. The oil breaks down these residues and they are disolved in the oil, with enough time, the oil becomes saturated with contaminants and changes the color to a darker tint. This is why used oil is way darker than new oil, and the darker the oil is, the more contaminated it is. Does this answer your question? If you still have any more questions about this or any other topic that I can help, feel free to ask as many as you want 😅. Ride safe bro ✌️

How come 10W-40 and not recommended 10W-30?
@ChillMotoRides
@ChillMotoRides 10 месяцев назад
Hey, You are absolutely right, the Honda service manual does recommend 10W-30, however, here in Portugal, the official honda shops use 10W-40 (I guess it's related to our climate, you can search more about it if you want). Since the official shops use 10W-40 I decided to use it as well. My advice is to check with your local honda dealers and shops and see what they think it's best. Otherwise just use 10W-30 as the manual says, there should be no problem either way. Good luck and ride safe ✌

It's better to prime the new filter before installing and remove the filler plug whilst draining the old oil out.
@ChillMotoRides
@ChillMotoRides 7 месяцев назад
Hey hey, what do you mean "prime the filter"? Filling the filter with new oil before installing?
@Lonewolf-kw8gg
@Lonewolf-kw8gg 7 месяцев назад
@@ChillMotoRides Yes, fill the filter with oil before installing it. Much better for the engine at start up.
@ChillMotoRides
@ChillMotoRides 6 месяцев назад
Yep, it sure can be a bit better but as you can see from the video, the bike creates oil pressure very quickly either way. With that said, priming the oil filter is an extra step, but you should do if it makes you more confortable. Thank you for your advice ✌
