I totally agree with your suggestion to photograph your figures outdoors. It's a lot of fun and it it is way easier to get the lighting right. Thanks for making this video.
Thanks for the tips! One trick I found for doing a cheap paper background while avoiding the seam-look, is to use cloth for your ground, and bunch up some of the excess near where the pieces are connected a little bit - makes it look a little like hills.
