In today's video give you guys a complete basketball floater breakdown and explain exactly how to shoot a floater.
ballerbootcamp.com/sww -- FREE WORKOUT HERE
Like I stated in the video I'm not a huge fan of the floater because I think for the most players it is a low percentage shot. If you're a smaller guard though it could be one of the only ways for you to score inside the midrange so for you I can see how it would be something you would practice, improve upon, and then use to score the ball.
The footwork is a little tricky and honestly up until maybe 5 years ago I didn't really know the footwork. But I studied it and now can easily explain it as you just saw. Anyways, I hope you learned something today and if you liked the video please share it with someone who would benefit from it.
Thanks, and remember,

thank you, I never felt the need to learn a floater until I developed a fear of being blocked (I'm 5'3) so thank you.

Any way of breaking down the stride stop? What 's the difference between stride stop and hop stop/pro hop?
@SkillDoctor
@SkillDoctor 6 лет назад
It's only a low percentage shot if you do not practice it and watch Steve Nash Floter
@BallerBootCamp
@BallerBootCamp 6 лет назад
No, in general it is a low % shot. You can't compare a 16 year old kid looking on RU-vid on ways to improve his or her game to Steve Nash.

Baller Boot Camp naw we can agree to disagree, heck! a layup is a low percentage shot is you don't put in the work. I have plenty of kids I trained that master the art of the floater/tear drop💧 it's all about putting in the reps point blank period

Nice vid! I'm tryin to learn a good ' drive, stepback, hesi, drive combo' like KD as I am a similar player (lanky ball carrier). Would appreciate any tips :)

that stride stop is traveling. if you jump off one foot both feet have to touch the floor at the same time. you basically took 3 steps.

Your demonstration was very mediocre. A floater is supposed to be quick and high arcing. If you shoot a floater like the video shows, your mostly likely going to get blocked hard
@BallerBootCamp
@BallerBootCamp 6 лет назад
Doesn't need to be quick if you do it right. And high arcing is a second option if you have to float it over a shot blocker.
@UdaamWright

daniel jackson I agree. More of a 'runner' than a floater. But the footwork is spot on.
