Hi Nick I use a double pedal on occasion. You can hear that in my Wiggle Room Video towards the end. I have not really used many pedals with a solid foot board so I can't comment on that. I am comfortable with the Tama so that's what I use but there are many great pedals out there. One of my biggest requirements is that the pedal be very quiet which most are not. Any pedal noise interferes with my recordings so I am extremely picky about that. Sometimes you will but a pedal and it's quiet but in a year or so it starts getting noisy when the linkage system gets broken in. This has occurred with all the pedals I have used except for the Iron Cobra with the strap.

Hi Ralph The beaters are different weights. For playing jazz I usually use a lighter beater. I like a heavy beater for playing Rock, Funk, etc. As far as extension goes I extend the beater according to the size of the BD. I try to get it dead center on a 22 or 20 and just above center for an 18" BD.

It is the Chafee muffler. I have 2 of them, should have bought 10 of them before they were discontinued.

@@rickdior I'm thinking that you have the skills to create a similar muffler, and perhaps market it, as you also do with your hand-created sticks?

Hi Larry I never change my pedal tension. I adjust technically to the type of music I am playing. I do use different beaters. For rock I use a wood or plastic beater.

Also, When I play double strokes, two strokes doesn’t sound even .How should I solve this? Thanks again!

Hi It's going to take more than a few weeks to get it to work and much more time for it to be even and reliable. Do the exercises in the video from my book and be patient.

Hi Alistair I do not have a video on that particular subject but maybe I will do one in the future. Make sure you are not slouching your shoulders and bending your neck down to look at the keyboard. If you have an older vibe with a small one point pedal (like the old Deagans) you can move the angle of the pedal with your foot on the fly so wherever you are on the vibe you can switch feet when one leg starts to hurt. You should not be bending your knees. As far as the height goes I like the instrument to be just below my navel.

All of my weight is on my torso on the seat so that my feet can move freely. There is never any weight put on my feet. If you look at my Heath and Wellness part 3 video on the drum set I discuss this in detail.

Hi Some of the old pedals are stiff and will hamper progress. I would definately look into getting a modern pedal. That being said its hard to tell whats going on unless I see how you are playing with your foot.

I tilt the cymbal a bit with the tilt mechanism and just play. It should be stronger then with heel down because you can use the entire weight of your leg.

Hi Yoni Those are groups of 5 quarter notes (quintuplets) in the space of 3 quarter notes (played by the Hi Hat) so 5 over 3. That's a polyrhythm.
