Bass Through Leslie Speaker Cabinet

I had some free time at the studio a few weeks ago, so I decided to do a quick experiment. In this video I am running a Yamaha BB series bass guitar through a vintage leslie speaker cabinet. The sound had a nice vintage psychedelic characteristic to it, plus it was a blast to do! Hope you enjoy this video! Let me know what you think in the comments below!

I always loved this effect. If you listen closely to the Vogues’ “5 O’Clock World” from 1965 you’ll hear a pattern deep in the background with a bass guitar being played through a Leslie speaker.

Saw a LS-1 Leslie Simulator for sale near me, immediately wondered how it sounded with a bass.. I hope the simulator is as good as the seller says it is ! Thanks for the demo ! Super helpful.

I think I can get pretty close to this sound with my Boss Ce-5 (digital version) by maxing level and rate. And setting the low filter all the way to zero. Just gotta get the depth close
