Batman: Arkham Shadow VR Hands On First Impressions! 

Can you believe, that this is what can be achieved with love, care, and optimization? Something not many games can accomplish these days.

This just hit me. History repeats itself again. A Batman game sets standards for how superhero games should be, but this time, it is on VR.

it's the most impressive looking Quest game to date

It's a bit mind blowing that this is running on mobile hardware. This looks amazing....Console exclusives are a strategy that's decades old, Meta owned Oculus Studios made it, so of course it's not coming to other platforms. I'm ok with that. If most games that released for Meta Quest 3 were at this level, they'd sell more systems. But Meta should know the fragmentation, which largely they are responsible for is a big reason why they don't.

Feels like we are officially entering a new era of gaming with games like this. Right as the console wars cinder down to cloud based gaming on whatever electronic platform you can connect a bluetooth controller to.... VR gaming begins to rise up from the ashes as an increasingly viable alternative. The developers definitely need praise and recognition for their creativity and ingenuity - the use of your hands and punches moving the character instead of joy sticks... It is evident they looked at it like. We know how console gaming would do it, lets make this VR gaming.

Well, hopefully this game holds up and doesn't suck! I just want developers to see what a good enough VR game can be (assuming this is good), and help push more original thinking as something the highers become more willing to try!

to me at least i feel like standalone vr is 1-2 gens behind current gen consoles. When the quest 4 comes out around 2026 i feel it'll be graphically similar to the ps4 which is exciting

So far from what I have seen and heard about the combat system this has given me hope for other combat style games like spider man and other.

If they time the release of this exactly with the quest 3s and make it a bundle like asgards wrath they are gonna make some serious sales

I remember being impressed with Arkham VR on psvr1 back in 2016 or whenever it was. Couldn't stop saying "I am Batman" when looking in the mirror in VR. This looks awesome 👍

I think you overestimate how many people are interested in buying a Quest 3 exclusive Beatsaber Batman, just to get some 3D and Headtracking.

This looks great. All I have is PSVR2 but I'll get a Quest 3 at some point so I can get access to exclusives like this.

Graphics look great. I STILL go back and do the suit-up/elevator ride down to the bat-cave. It still looks stunning.

I hope there's an option to get rid of all the circles and number points while you're fighting. Most people don't wanna see 31 27 Or any other numbers while they're fighting. That sort of thing breaks immersion. I mean when was the last time you punch Someone and saw numbers come out of their head.

Looks impressive. Feel like this Game is going to push customers to move from Quest 2 to Quest 3. I am curious about the Quest 3S and Price Point.. If it comes in around $399 think you might see quicker adoption to Quest 3 Generation.

I have a hot take about this being exclusive it’s not that bad it’s like Nintendo and PlayStation having exclusives it sells consoles(or headsets in this case) and it does it good at the end of the day it boils down to money I know it’s bad and i want it to be not exclusive too but I can’t change that and nobody else can also I don’t see people complaining that the legend of Zelda assassin’s creed nexus and Astro bot are exclusive anyway have a nice day bye be respectful in the reply’s ok

It just turns your camera instead of making you turn your body to counter? i hope there's an option for this. actually having to move your body is the point of VR

A lot of this looks really awesome, but the white visor outline that occasionally appears was really distracting! I'm hoping you can either turn that off, or it's not nearly as annoying when wearing the headset. The combat looks like great fun!!

i hope they release more quest 3 only games sio we cab get rid of quest 2. and things have more room for updates instead of having to downgrade games

As much as I hate Facebook I do hope this exclusive sells headsets as it will ultimately be good for the industry as Sony has obviously given up on theirs. Just hope advertising is strong on the run up to release.

This looks great, but also looks like a motion sickness machine. I'll have to play with all the kiddie motion sickness options turned on which will probably ruin the game - but I'll give it a try, it does look fun.

Seems very cool! I'd be happy to get a Quest 3 for it, both for fun and to feel their design out. The only problem is money :P.

Could you say how this looks graphically versus following games: Assassins Creed Nexus VR, Red Matter 2 VR, Asgards Wrath 2 VR, could you put them in order graphically ?

In my opinion, the combat falls short. The combos appear overly automated, lacking the depth and challenge that would make the gameplay engaging. Additionally, the excessive circles and colors flashing on the screen when hitting enemies feel out of place. These effects clash with the game's attempt at realistic graphics, undermining the overall visual experience.

8-12hrs? Arkham Asylum took way longer than that to finish.

My Quest 1 and Vive Cosmos have sat on shelves gathering dust for years, I sold both recently and picked up a Quest 3. Of the past few decades there were 2 games that left a lasting impression on me, The Arkham Series and Alien Isolation. With releases this year of spiritual successorts to those games I felt I deserved to experience them in better quality. What i'm surprised by however, is how few new or interesting titles have been released in the past years, i've been watching top 10 and top 100 lists, and there just hasn't been anything that's gripped me. Saints and Sinners 2 looks worse than the last, Pavlov and contractors still look like the best shooters, there's been nothing close to the quality of HL Alyx Released. Dissapointing!

Were you able to ask the devs if this will be available on the quest pro? I see zero reason why the pro can't run this experience other than Ray tracing support.

Damn, the worst thing you could have said there for me is "taking inspiration from the weighty physics of The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinnners", which to me means it presumably has that utterly terrible wibbly delayed "physics" implementation to weapons that I utterly hate in VR. And it wasn't even the most extreme version of it in TWD: S&S. I lament that Boneworks made this a popular trend in VR. Just get back to something like Asgard's Wrath, where things properly move as I move and the "weightiness" and satisfaction comes from how the enemies and environment actually respond to this, rather than slightly delayed "spaghetti" mode. Not great if that's in this game even slightly imo. Now I'm a bit worried. Hopefully it's not actually bad and it just sounds like it's going to do things the way I personally don't love rather than it actually be that way. I can live with all the HUD/GUI crap and having to fight as told rather than just as I want, but I don't know if I can cope with this whole "Boneworks" types of delayed wibbly "physics" based control in yet another VR game. :-o

I hate how VR creators have normalized business relationships with developers and hardware platforms without ever disclosing it on their videos. This was just a straight up commercial.

The combat looks very mobile game but the stealth looks fun.

How do you compare the graphical fidelity of this and Arkham VR on PSVR1?

Exclusives are not a bad thing but it's really a shame I won't be able to play this for another couple years. Only use my Quest 1 for Beat Saber these days and don't plan on replacing it until it stops working Ah well, can hope for a PSVR2 port at some point cause the game looks great, but probably will just have to wait 4-5 years to get a Quest 4 or whatever's out at that point

ANY chance that this will come to PC? I know PCVR is stagnant but I am (Obviously) I big Arkham fan. Was never a fan of how the other VR game ended.

I can’t get over why they have to limit it to a mobile device while having a dedicated meta platform on pc ? You can see the limitations in all these quest exclusives like AW2 , iron man and AC . The graphics are not that good. It’s a shame that they not offer a pc version

Don't like that the combat is Simon says. No weight into the combat so you don't need to actually punch as long as you touch the big yellow circles it works. If you punch someone the wrong way nothing happens just big red X saying wrong direction. Big yellow numbered circles and arrows isn't very immersive hope we can turn them off as they hid them in the trailer. Could of give us real combat but the rest looks impressive.
