@fazeapplestic9420 Nah, the entire movie of Rises is just a shitty amalgamation of various Batman stories mish-mashed together in a way that only vaguely makes sense. It also feels totally disconnected at the start from the previous movies because they wanted to have the "old washed up" Bruce Wayne story thing which just makes no sense coming off of Dark Knight. The whole movie is a mess, Bane is comically bad, Hathaway as Catwoman is one of the worst casting decisions ever, and the ending is dumb as hell, and totally not in line with who Batman is as a character. Cool action sequences is pretty much all it has. 6/10
This movie is a masterpiece ! It's not written as superheroe movie is written as a biopic and The two Chris are genious Nolan is a macician and Bale is The Man
30:55: About what Rachel said about his “mask”, Bruce “died” that night his parents were killed, and Batman was “born”, although he didn’t know it yet. He unconsciously made a vow to himself that he wouldn’t let that happen to anyone else.
Rachel is just a bitch who plays with people ' s emotions.....first she said bruce must give up his vengeance and change ....then again she said actions define a man and when she came to knew about batman she kissed him and again decided that he wasn't same person.😂😂😂
Laura if you liked this one, then you’re going to absolutely love the next one “The Dark Knight”. The Villain puts on the best performance EVER for a Villain in a movie, in my opinion.
These 2 lovely ladies are the best at reviewing movies. They say enough when needed and show emotion when a movie moved them, and they genuinely have fun when they are watching a fun movie. Totally enjoy watching them 👍
That was my favorite line throughout the whole movie when Bruce and Alfred are in below the Batcave. Bruce feel he's failed and that he's not strong enough to save the city and Alfred brings up that quote that his father told him when he was a child. Why do fall sir? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up. Bruce: Still haven't given up on me Alfred:Never Fantastic 🔥 🔥 🔥
It IS the greatest superhero movie of all time. In fact, it's unfair to even call it a superhero movie. More like a crime drama epic, with the best villain ever put to screen.
Magy's fingernails! She could be Catwoman with those claws. But I was always nervous whenever she touched her own face. She could poke her eyes out with those. Still.... a great self-defense weapon!
This is everything directors and studios want to see in audience reactions. Before the internet, they never got to see a vast majority of the audience react to the film in real time. This was great video!!!
In addition to Cillian Murphy (Dr. Crane/Scarecrow and he also plays Thomas Shelby in "Peaky Blinder" amongst other roles)s and Liam Nesson (known from Taken), you may also recognize Ken Watanabe (he plays the "fake" Ra's al Ghoul in the flashback sequences and you know him from "The Last Samurai", he played Katsumoto) It's really interesting to see how well Bruce's fear of bats has been brought to life into this movie: his nightmare in prison, his time spent with the League of Shadows, the scene with his parents at the opera, when he gets exposed to the fear gas. Rachel being his moral compass helps make Bruce even more relatable to the viewer: we all falter an fail sometimes, but that doesn't mean we can't pick ourselves up and try again, be better, help change the world for the better. It never fails to amuse me, how Lucius Fox entertains Bruce's wild "spelunking and base-jumping" excuses, all while providing him with the gear he needs. All the Batmobile scenes are crazy good but the one he rushes to save Rachel, while pursued by the police, is nothing short of amazing. An honorable mention goes to the Comissioner Gordon having the time of his life playing around with the Batmobile later in the movie. Bruce plays the billionaire part excellently and we can see it in the hotel scene, buying it just to show everyone how outrageously rich he is, when he gets rid of the guests at his birthday part in order to save their lives and those are just a few notable examples. The movie is littered with others. Pretty clever, albeit a bit on the nose, how he chose to reveal his identiy to Rachel. Lucius clapped back like a badass, firing Earle in style. Proud of you for initiating Laura into this trilogy without telling her much about it, letting her form her opinion and experiencing it all without any kind of bias. Thank you for the beautiful reaction ❤
The Chris Nolan Trilogy is Legendary....More Realistic take and Love how You're Educating her on Batman....Also (funfact)....Mr Scarecrow is in Oppenheimer
Enjoy the darkness while you can. This is about as realistic as superhero movies get, with important messages. Most superhero movies constantly throw jokes in, which can take away from important scenes. Yes it is different from how light most superhero movies are, but it doesn't have to be a bad thing. It makes it unique and stand out
37:00: Mags, I’m surprised you didn’t recognize Liam Neeson not only from Taken, but from Schindler’s List, and as Qui-Gon from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. And Falcone was the villain Juntao from the first Rush Hour, with Gordon playing a very bad cop in Leon: The Professional.
This Dark Knight trilogy, Batman 89 , Batman Returns , Batman the Animated Series and Batman Mask of the Phantasm is all you need for your Batman fix. Imo they are the greatest films and tv shows for Batman. Keatons Batman was my childhood, rewatched Batman Returns so much that you'd think I was insane, it never gets old. Bales trilogy , especially The Dark Knight were my favorite films and they did Batman right.
So the whole Batman killing thing. He meant he won't become an executioner, he won't blatantly kill an unarmed person, and he's going to try his best not to murder someone in cold blood. Obviously accidents happen, and sometimes collateral damage happens from his actions, but it is his intent which is important.
But he's willing to kill or at least let everyone in that building at the start die. I feel like that's one of these main character tropes in action media that feels super wrong if you spend time thinking about it. It's a very hypocritical mindset IRL. The movie is still great and all but that trope annoys me^^ once he's actually batman it works much better
Nolan’s first take on Batman redefined the character for a 2000s audience and gave superhero films the license to play it straight in a way that they hadn’t really before, sans the melodramatic heights of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films.
@@TheStormblooper912 A guy who can go out into the city and find crimes happening and fight every night is playing it straight? Everybody who worked on the Batmobile prototype not figuring it out on day 1? Huh, famous Bruce Wayne is back from the dead and a superhero is also here. Driving a tank that is very similar to the one I helped to build. Weird.
@@TheStormblooper912 The point I was trying to make is that the Superman movie from 1978 set the standard. If you want to make a good superhero movie, take the source material seriously.
@@TheStormblooper912 You are still wrong no matter how much you cry. Superman (1978) is the template for superhero movies. The Michael Keaton Batman was next. Christopher Nolan did alright but it was 25 years later.
This is the movie that FINALLY made Batman into the legend that he should always be on the big screen. This almost mythical nightmare that preys on criminals like a predator. And the reason why Christian Bale is my favorite on screen Batman is because he did what his predecessors failed to do, make Batman and Bruce Wayne 2 completely different alter egos. The others basically played it as Bruce Wayne in a Batman costume, but Bale made Wayne the mask and Batman his true self.
24:06 Now this scene's _particularly_ brilliant. The mansion is about to burn _down._ These people are all about to be in mortal _danger._ Bruce wants them to _leave._ So what does he do? Does he _tell_ them they're in mortal danger? No. That would make them _panic._ And as the movie _Jaws_ illustrated (and _The Naked Gun 2 ½_ illustrated more _comically),_ when you _tell_ a crowd of people that their lives are in danger, they _panic._ They _scramble._ They exert themselves to _escape_ that danger, and in the ensuing melee, many of them get _hurt._ Some of them even get _killed_ which is what Bruce is trying to _avoid._ No, you give them _another_ reason to leave. In this case, he's driving them to leave by suddenly becoming a bad _host._
These two women look like Gal Gadot and Ana De Armas. Loved the reaction. Everyone loves The Dark Knight more, and for good reason, but Batman Begins is underrated and my favourite movie from the trilogy. It is just enough comic book and enough realism, and I like the Batsuit better in this one. If you liked this movie, The Dark Knight is gonna blow you away.
Hello Magy, I really enjoy your reactions with Laura. 😊 Waiting for your new videos. Please, when you have the opportunity, react to the Zorro movies, "The Mask of Zorro" (1998) and its sequel "The Legend of Zorro" (2005) with Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones. I'm sure you'll love them! Take care. Greetings from Mexico. 😁
20:36 Here, Dr. Crane is confident he can _take_ Batman, because he was able to take him _before._ 20:53 But he _underestimated_ Batman. The masked vigilante _learns_ from his _mistakes._
In comic books the superhero's disguise doesn't have to be good for it to work on everyone. That's just one of the rules. It's not realistic at all but that's just how it works in the superhero universe.
@@irvplotnik89 yeah but Henry cavil is less recognizable than a little god amongst men would be. Also, we are talking about everyday for however many years vs 1 day. You're telling me if Trump dresses differently he can just pretend to be a journalist and no one would recognize him? And trump is much less recognizable than a literal god amongst men would be.
I would love for James Gunn to bring the animated version of Batman versus Dracula to life on the big screen but make it different at the point it will last about two and half hours or three hours long add in the Joker and the Penguin if necessary.
8:56 I always thought that the fact the vessel which he gets into says "CAPRICORN" is not a coincidence. That zodiac sign (as far as I barely know) has all the characteristics of Batman: relentless will, estocism, ambition for big things beyond money, strategic, cold minded and solitude.
16:16 This is an indication of Bruce Wayne, playing it up as a wealthy, shallow _playboy._ He isn't, but he has to look the _part._ It contributes to his cover as _Batman._
Lol funny thing is so many people claim revenge or killing criminals is wrong ...but then watch John Wick and they scream for revenge after the first 10 -15 minutes 🤣😂🤣
@thedrizzle06925 Yes, many today have their priorities backward...can value them equally or slightly less than average person...certainly more than the bad guy type person ... But at the end of the day, animals and pets are less than humans or at best equal if of good character...over time this should be the natural view
If you enjoy the trilogy, i believe you'd also love the series Gotham. Many dislike it, but also many love it. It has problems, like everything these days, but it's a great take on Gotham and Batman.
@@nsasupporter7557 I don't think so. I typed in her name and Batman 1989 and didn't see it. Only the Dark Knight trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan.
22:02 Will Smith's character of CPT Stephen Hiller in Independence Day says this very thing as he flies an alien attack craft out of the hangar in Area 51. 👍 25:57 I wonder who learned this brand of humour from who, Rowan Atkinson or Michael Caine?
Ra's al Ghul's motivation in this bothers me, also. In the comic books he led the League of Assassins in seeking power and wealth, and didn't pretend to improve the world.
Hey, Magy and Lora. I really loved this movie a whole lot. The action sequences were so exciting, the music score was very epic, the direction was well-focus, and the emotional weight was perfect compared to previous Batman films. Christian Bale was so incredibly good as Batman and Bruce Wayne. The original "Batman" was great film, but this one is definitely the best Batman film I've seen. Big thumbs way up for me on "Batman Begins". Batman Begins (2005) 4/4 👍👍👍👍
The Waynes deaths look like they took place downtown Vancouver. It's really crappy what people could get away with now a days and I bet if this was current in NorthAmerica you'd have people trying to take selfies over these two actors bodies...
Great reaction you two!! Even though you are going to continue with the next two films, regarding Batman, please do 'Batman - 1989' and 'Batman Returns - 1992' as well. Also, please do 'The Terminator - 1984', 'Terminator 2:Judgment Day - 1991' and end it off nicely with the complete 'Terminator 2:3D Ride'.
Fun Fact, ladies: *Cillian Murphy* (Dr. Crane/Scarecrow) also auditioned for Batman as well! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_knjRA4df3E.html
Some movies simply stand the test of time... this is one of those. 'The Batman' (2023) did the best job at introducing the character, but overall, I prefer Batman Begins.
10:30-ish: i know he fights for what he believes in but i kinda hate this trope that you're not willing to kill one guy but are happy to either kill or leave everybody in this building to die in the collapse. Like where's your morals there?
