For all intents and purposes you’re facing *brainiac merged with a new god whose mastery over time would make rip hunter sweat.* The doctor has conquered elemental forces , won the biggest war ever, and that’s barely scratching the surface. You know what’s the scariest thing, we don’t even know HOW he does the most inconceivable crap. Most of the most horrific moments of the time war arent even in audio dramas. We aren’t privileged to see HOW he punishes the family that shows the fury of the timelord (he trapped someone in every mirror, froze someone in time but kept them conscious, and worse and we really don’t know how).
He's also known to sacrifice himself to save innocents. He did it for the town of Trenzalore, Wilf, Peri, the people of floor 513, Rose, and Kas. Capturing a companion, or forcing him to put himself in harms way to save them, and then striking before regeneration can take effect, would be an effective option.

Some incarnations could become a White Lantern easily. Inspire and posses great hope? Gripped with endless rage? Possesses an endless fountain of compassion? A thief who allows none to have what he possesses? The ability to strike great fear? So, so, so much love, an overwhelming amount of it? Nine and Ten especially could become White Lanterns. Nine though I think to start is Red, not Green. Ten is Indigo and Yellow at the same time like a little freak. Eleven is Yellow. Twelve is Green again. Thirteen is Violet. One I think is a little weirdo who'd actually be Orange. Seven is also a Yellow Lantern.
Just saying of all the emotional spectrum while I agree he’s got white potential I’d say his greatest quality is that of the blue light. He is a being with the ability to inspire great hope.
@@PosthumanHeresy White Lanterns wield the white light of life and were revived from death (which was notable in Deadman's case) as the other side of the same coin of the black lanterns being zombies. Kyle was an outlier and the only two reasons the White Lanterns even existed was first to defeat the Black Lanterns, then to carry out the White Light Entity's Twelve Labors, which included making Swamp Thing its replacement. This is especially evident in how Kyle became a Hybrid Lantern later without becoming White Lantern again. In fact, his costume was a pale shade, rather than pure white

Putting it in my DC fanboy terms, he’s batman in brainiac’s body sitting in the mobius chair with like infinite lives now (really ever since time of the doctor) making Rip Hunter rethink his whole existence. And that’s on a calm down. Don’t catch the doctor on a family of blood or time war day. But the Doctor is no more a threat than Batman for the same reason. They’re terrifying people who live by a strict set of rules because they’re terrifying. Just don’t catch him when he’s not calling himself the Doctor.

It’s worth noting that killing a time lord in the middle of regeneration ends the process, resulting in permanent death. The key to killing the Doctor is to strike fast, don’t give him time to talk, and make sure you double tap. Although, given how the Doctor survived his assassination by River Song/ the astronaut. He’d likely already have a plan to survive before you even thought about trying it. Plus, time lords like the master have survived far worse while not having any regenerations to fall back on
I have wondered whether that rule even still applies to the Doctor since the Timeless Child arc. That rewrote a lot of the previous “rules” around regeneration.

You realize that the trick in the impossible astronaut was that the characters were lying about it. Why would you believe that shooting him in the middle of regenerating would actually work?
Two words: psychic pollen. The Dreamlord nearly whooped the Doctor, and he only was able to come to a conclusion thanks to his companions. If Batman could find some, he could make a dispersal device disguised as a puzzle. The Doctor is notoriously nosy, and he might not see it coming if he's too focused on the task.
Except then you create an arguably just as bad threat. Its really unfortunate Doctor Who didn’t use the dream lord more (like in the series 8 Christmas special). I wholeheartedly believe after being under for long enough the Dreamlord would seek to cause havoc outside of the doctors mind. We could get a sandman level villain or a knight terrors level event.

The Doctor is a massive threat despite almost never being armed. He took over an entire military fortress using his least bloodthirsty friends meaning he was holding back HEAVILY. In the same episode he destroyed an entire cyber fleet just for the information it had. His will also extends into billions of years just to protect the universe. If he were ever dropped into dc he would easily be the most powerful green lantern to ever exist. Fun fact the Doctor would be able to hack into power rings if cyborg can do it the Doctor definitely can
The Doctor has lived far too long and experienced far too much to qualify for any one Ring. ALL of them would sense too much of some form of emotion that disqualifies them from the ring. Too much fear for a Green Ring. Too much Willpower for a Yellow ring. Too much bitterness and rage for a Violet or Blue ring, but too much compassion and kindness for a Red Ring.

Of course that’s with competent consistent writing. Personally I wouldn’t it chance it against a being smart and mad enough to punch their way out of an impossible tailored torture chamber by killing themself tor 4.5 billion years. It's hard to really beat the Doctor. True, you can capture him, but the Doctor is hard to hold him for long or at all. His intelligence and persistent nature can work to his advantage!

The Doctor is a Time Lord, defeating aliens such as Daleks, Cybermen, and Sontarans, along with other evil aliens. The Doctor uses a Sonic Screwdriver, has a robot dog called K9, and can change forms via a process called regeneration. It is in his seventh form thT he meets the bounty hunter called Death's Head (see Death's Head for more reference) At this time, Universe 2364 seems to be at the brink of a Time War..."
Encase him in something like carbonite from Star Wars - keeping him alive, but essentially comatose. Physically, he doesn't have super strength or speed, so the act of actually overpowering him would not be too difficult.
I believe the Pandorica was designed to do exactly this. It's a bit fancier to resist any timey wimey shenanigans he might pull, but the principle is the same.
Somebody doesn't do their research. Timelords have massive strength, as classic who stated. Did you not see him crush the metal remote when the cybertech took his mind? That wasn't his upgrades. That was his timelord strength.

In "Last Of The Time Lords" the Master (when he was Prime Minister Harold Saxon) had Special Air Service men as bodyguards. Two of them were able to restrain the Doctor without any appreciable difficulty.

Thing is, with how The Doctor's regeneration results in a new personality each time it happens, it's only a matter of time until we get a not so nice Doctor. That being said, it could be an effectively infinite amount of time before that happens. In short, the chance of getting a Doctor who _wants_ to be your enemy is almost nonexistent, but never zero.

Let's also mention that each Doctor evolves from the experiences of the last Doctor he regenerated from, along with who he initially makes contact with after regeneration, and his personality is a reflection of that.
A massive conspiracy among his enemies collaborating across time and space made a perfect prison for him, but as that universe got destroyed by his time machine exploding the design has been lost to meta history.
That was they biggest mistake: Too much technology involved. You have to use a roman style prison (underground without a way to excspe without help) and keep him quarded by your best men/dogs (both?) to prevent all escape plans.

Death guaranteed. edit: fine, we use a killer kite. Left heart, right heat, lung and headshot. That way he will die.
First rule. The Doctor lies. The entire scene was set up to fake his death for the benefit of people who don't understand the first thing about how Time Lords work. Why would you believe just shooting him during his regeneration cycle would actually work?
Capturing is probably the only option; and even then that is at best a pause button. The best method of capturing him is often convincing him to step into a trap. But one should never threaten violence upon another being to accomplish this (particularly not against any of his companions). In fact quite the opposite; the best way to trap the Doctor is to offer the solution to the current crisis he is in (and that you did not create) in exchange he willingly steps into your trap. Ensuring the safety and transportation home of anyone he happens to be with will also help convince him. The trap must include some method of preventing his time machine from reaching him, as it can sometimes be summoned at will. He must also be somehow prevented from going back to the place and time he was captured, as he could spend billions of years in your trap only to get out and return a few seconds after you trapped him. The sonic screwdriver should be stored in a solid wooden box outside the trap. Feel free to accept any Jelly Babies he may offer you.
They already tried that, in the audio story prisoner of the sun, the doctor was imprisoned in a prison he can't escape in the heart of a sun, he can't escape because it he tried the sun will collapse killing 3 planets, he still escaped Tldr, never matter what he will do , the doctor will always find a way to escape

Considering how Batman tries to make his contingencies non-lethal, and tries not to kill anyone... I doubt the Doctor's regeneration would be to big of a factor.
Also one thing batman should be ABSOLUTELY weary and careful of is the Doc's most dangerous weapon even though the Doc is a pacifist and he doest like using weapons and force he has the one weapon that can wipe out batman and its the Dematerialization Gun or the D-Mat a weapon Capable of wiping you from all existence and time making it so that you never even existed. And batman should be extra careful of the TARDIS as if he enters it Batman could end up getting lost and trapped in there as the TARDIS is actually alive and so it can really give Bats problems if he ends up in there and the Tardis sees him as a threat to it and the Doc. Safe to say dont make the Doc angry enough to resort to the D-Mat

The Doctor’s species is Gallifreyan; Time Lords are a special class of Gallifreyan, having been exposed to a Time Vortex by ceremony (if I remember correctly).
Regeneration is not an ability that brings a Time Lord back from death, it brings the Time Lord back from a mortal injury, if the Doctor dies while he is regenerating he will die for good, this has almost happened twice both at the hands of River Song. Additionally, some exotic poisons can disable regeneration.
Dying in the middle of a regeneration cycle was brought up during an incident when the Doctor was explicitly faking his death for the benefit of people who didn't know the first thing about how Time Lords work. As River Song herself says, "First rule: The Doctor lies." Why in the world would you believe that would work?
The Doctor's greatest flaw is recklessness. The Doctor has strong compassion, much like Batman. The Doctor is best detained in low tech or bare minimum tech.
But that's the issue with both batman and the doctor, if they became a threat, the compassion would be gone. That's when you have to worry, because whatever caused that transformation...
The Doctor was once straight up killed by Nobody No-One, a renegade Word Lord (an alternate universe version of the Time Lords who live forty-five billion dimensions to the left of theirs), because he was told that "Nobody can kill the Doctor." Of course, No-One was later tricked into resurrecting the Doctor as instantly as he had killed him.
I don't know what so many people in the comments are talking about. This isn't the Doctor Who show. This is a hypothetical reality where Batman and The Doctor exist and could potentially get into a fight, without plot armor. The contingency for The Doctor is easy: double tap. The end. It's that simple.
When Rassilon was going to kill the Doctor, he seemed pretty confident he'd have to actually kill his way through all his regenerations. I suspect Rassilon understands the regeneration process a little bit better than the idiots who feel for the Doctor's plan to fake his death.
Batman could make use of the doctors, sonic, screwdriver technology, and his ID flap that emits illusions of disguises. You can use the sonic screwdriver, unhook chains base shackle, to. And I’m pretty sure Wayne enterprises and star labs Could you find used for this technology.
I would mention that a good staser from Gallifrey's Chancellery Guard could kill The Doctor, or any Time Lord instantly: completely ignoring or negating any Regenerations they might have. Of course, given that this is The Doctor, they probably already have contingencies in place for such a situation, even without their Sonic Screwdriver to sabotage the staser in the first place. You could try to them with it in mid-Regeneration, away from the TARDIS -- and find a way to destroy Sexy, which is the TARDIS' name, by the way -- and you *might* have a chance. Really, though. Given how The Doctor loves to break the rules, or does so by their very nature, it'd just be best not to mess with them at all.

Junko Enoshima from Danganronpa contingency plan. A foe smarter than him who's able to learn anything on exposure no matter what it is, like Taskmaster on steroids. She reads the code of an AI? Now she can make AI. She sees Batman fight? Now she can fight like Batman (proven via Mukuro giving the Ryoko personality voice commands for fighting in Danganronpa Zero, meaning she doesn't even need to see it, an expert fighter giving her voice commands is enough for her to fight at that level). She has brainwashing video tech, making every screen a threat to Batman. She's an expert roboticist, meaning killer robots are a dime a dozen around her. And she has access to the Towa Group's finances and funds, meaning she's by proxy through Monaca an economic equal to Bruce. He'd need to factor Mukuro and Monaca both into the contingency plan, since Mukuro could likely fight him to a standstill like Captain America did, given it would take over an hour for Sakura to beat her and Sakura is Bane-sized with Batman-level skill and no drugs. Monaca's not a threat herself, but what she provides in money and factories to Junko makes her an issue. And that's presuming he doesn't need to factor Despair!Komaeda into the equation. Komaeda Contingency Plan could be it's own thing.

there's something terrifying about even BATMAN admitting that stopping the Doctor if he turned might be impossible. the way these are done and just showing that batman respects his counterparts, be they heroes or villains, just makes the Doctor seem even more of a stark figure when you try and deal with them there are ways to stop the Doctor, but if you ever need to, the Time Lord Victorious comes to mind. TIME Bends to their will if they want it to. what's stopping the Doctor learning about his impending death in the future and going back to stop it? what's stopping the Doctor learning you want them dead and going back to stop you having the power to stop them. sure you can catch them off guard, but there's so many variables that need to be accounted for that it's just.....you hope they stay on your side. and so far they've proven they will. you don't fight the doctor, you work with them and hope they don't decide to make a Terran Empire
There is a guaranteed way of stopping an evil doctor, just call a past incarnation of the doctor to deal with them, it worked with the valyard and with the time lord victorious
Batman Contingency: The Good witch Luz There are many worlds in our Multiverse that holds the title of Demon Realm, investigation of a strange occurrence in the small town of Gravesfield led to me to discover a gateway to one of these realms. My knowledge regarding the occult practices are limited, but thanks to Zatanna’s help I was able to uncover the secrets that laid beyond the thresholds of that old, forgotten house. I learned of two groups of powerful demigods, one known as the Collectors, the other as Titans, who long ago fought each other in a great war. In the end, the Titans lost. Their bones becoming the very foundation for the islands that the worlds current inhabitants now live on. Only one titan, named King, survived this tragedy. Magic in the Demon realm lingers everywhere, both in the gargantuan bones that its people walk upon, but also in their beating hearts. Magic is a part of life there but it’s also a dangerous place. Where acid falls from the sky like rain and rainbows, more commonly known as painbows, can drive any person to madness just by looking at them. Still, its people seem caring and protective. Luz Noceda is not from the Demon realm, but a student of it. It seems she discovered the gateway there solely by accident after following a witch’s palisman. A witch that not long after became Luzs mentor in the mystic arts. Luzs powers comes from a form of glyph magic, where she through certain arcane symbols can accomplish the most remarkable feats. Such as creating balls of shining light, control ice, turn invisible, teleport, and make the very nature around her to her biding. There almost seems to be no limit to what her glyphs can do. She also possesses the power of flight and energy blasts through her own palisman, a snakelike creature named Stringbean. Luzs glyphs take time to draw and has led to her to carry around small parchments with glyphs already drawn on them to be used in a hurry. This is her biggest weakness. If she were to be soaked in water, then by logic, most of her prepared arsenal would become useless. Luzs glyph magic is also connected to the child titan, King. It might be possible to render her glyphs ineffective if that connection where to be served somehow. As a precaution, Wayne Enterprises has bought the land that the old house stands on. Making it easy to quickly demolish it, and hence sealing the gateway to the Demon realm forever, if it ever becomes necessary. There is one more thing. During her time in the Demon realm, Luz fought against a powerful tyrant that had ruled over the land known as the Boling Isles for many decades. To defeat him, Luz was given the last of the Life essence of Kings father, whose spirit had remained in the worlds between worlds. This caused her body to change. Granting her the powers that these mighty Titans once possessed. The transformation was only temporary, and Zatanna has ensured me that there is a zero possible that Luz will ever take that form again. But something tells me that magic like that doesn’t fade away easily. Luz had a troubling childhood. Losing her father at a young age, being bulling at school. Her mother, while kind, seemed to have struggled to understand her. These things are often enough to make one resentful of the world. Luz, however, seems to not have fallen to the darkness like so many others do. Her self-given title, “The Good Witch Luz”, is a reference to the character “Azura” from the famous children’s book series. I asked Oracle, if she had any insight into this kind literature and she happily provided me with the full collection of “The Good Witch Azura” from her personal library. And after personally having read the books, I can understand why they are so cherished by children all over the world. I’m happy that Luz was able to find a positive role model, even if it is a fictional one, and I hope that the legend of the dark knight perhaps one day can have the same result. As many strengths as The Doctor has, he has an equal number of weaknesses. He’s incredibly curious about puzzles and unknown things almost to a child like degree. That right there is the greatest weakness he has. Lure him into a puzzle and then strike hard and fast. Don’t give him time to think, talk or anything. Double tap. Use an ally of his or very good duplicate of that ally against him. He lets people get too close and that is the fatal flaw.
Except that the doctor has a powerful ability called the bootstrap paradox, biscly if the doctor found himself in inescapable situations a future version with prep time can return in time to indirectly help him In fact the doctor once died and used a bootstrap paradox to resurrect himself so not even a double tap would work

You could put the Doctor into the Pandorica, which is a prison so secure that you can't even die to escape from... granted he DID actually escape from one once, but that was with help from the outside. He couldn't escape by himself. The real problem would be building a new one, as the last one took all of the Doctor's enemies working together to create... but Batman has pulled of crazier plans XD

As other commenters have stated timelord regeneration is powerful but not without flaw. If the regeneration process is interrupted a timelord can die permanently. But if that’s not the route you wanna take there is another one… post regeneration amnesia. If the doctor were to have a particularly traumatic regeneration he can temporarily forget varying pieces of information for a brief time. The level of the amnesia can vary from forgetting his own name to his past to even forgetting entire skills. 11 forgot which way was left or right. Meanwhile 12 forgot how to drive the tardis and it got swallowed by a dinosaur. His TARDIS is another problem as it can take him to most places in time and or space but if you manage to pin the doctor the tardis has a defense mechanism where if there’s a hostile enough action it will dematerialize whether or not he’s in it and it’s impossible for the tardis to return to that space at that time until the hostile action is over AND thanks to the doctors incarnation from the great time war and a crossover that shouldn’t happen between his future selves his sonic now has a sub routine to atomize wood basically because as pointed out the calculations to make it so would take centuries. So make sure he doesn’t cross his own timeline. The doctor can exchange centuries worth of knowledge in seconds. Normally it shouldn’t happen but some instances allow it to.
The hostile action thing was a default the doctor had to switch off, it only applied in the recent episodes because as the tardis rebooted it turned back on. That wouldn't work.
@@thunderspark1536 but that doesn’t mean there’s versions of the doctor with it turned on. If you can confront an incarnation that has it before he turned it off then you have a way to isolate him. With the ability of time travel you just have to pick which version of the doctor you can fight. If anything fight his first life. He died at the age of 400 and has absolutely no real combat skills given his lack of experience of the timewar
Regeneration does not work if the process is interrupted or the injuries too great to start in the first place. Like the time he was just shot in the middle of it. Granted through time shenanigans that was undone but all you gotta do is hand someone the gun who you know won't hesitate. Wild that they would bank on his wife to do the job
As the woman who pretended to shoot him during that scene which was him faking his death declared, "First rule: The Doctor lies." Why do you believe this method would actually have worked?
To take down the female Prime Minister wasn't it only 4 words - "Doesn't she look tired?". I could be wrong it's been a few years since I watched that episode.
The Dr's species isn't Time Lord, its either Sobogan or if you want to go with the Timeless Child canon then its unknown. And in the next bit his memories didn't defeat the Old God. The Old God was a bit overwhelmed but then comes back, its Clara's fractal leaf/ bullshit that overwhelms it. Ok fact checking will stop there and I'll just sit back and enjoy.
The contingency for the Doctor is The Flash. As soon as the Doctor goes bad or becomes compromised, the Justice League goes into hiding to analyze what he did on that first day. With this they develop a plan to subdue the Doctor, The Flash time travels just prior to the Doctor's arrival on Earth and tells the past Justice League the plan they came up with to defeat the Doctor. Since it's only a backward hop of a day or two there should not be any huge catastrophic changes like at Flashpoint. Execute the plan (it may be as simple as the Flash running up and punching The Doctor in the face before he can react to knock him unconscious). A more practical option than time travel might be using Mr. Freeze's tech. The cold doesn't harm Time Lords flesh, so you could blast the Doctor with freezing tech to encase him in a thick block of ice to immobilize him without harming him. If you get him cold enough, it forces him into a coma (citation: "Frozen Time"). Once captured and comatized, take the Doctor to an undisclosed location in the most frigid part of Antarctica and bury him under the ice. He can be neutralized as long as he remains frozen, for millions and millions of years
The doctor also can do the same as a future doctor return in time to help his past self with far better plan, you really can out-time-travel a time lord
@@Mohammedamine9. As established through dialogue very early in the New Doctor Who (I don't know what the rule was for the OG series), a Doctor can't cross his own timeline (which is a rule they bend occasionally later in the series) to prevent universe ending paradoxes.
@@GuardianOwl he doesn't need to cross his timeline tho , he can help him indirectly by working from the background which happened several times , for example in the audio story "a death in the family " the doctor died but a future doctor returned in time to set up a plan to resurrect his past self In short, the doctor knows how to play around the rules

Firstly, the two obviously know each other. The utility belt is clearly bigger on the inside. Secondly, trapping him is easy: he will always come to help a friend. Thirdly, the key to immobilizing him, the 12th said himself: I don't know what to do when there's no evil plan.
