Also before you mention the 'losing themselves before completing the mission', Batman has proved countless times he hasn't lost himself. He is called *THE DARK KNIGHT* for a reason. Someone who is willing to sacrifice on any level.

Sometimes though even the dark knight should be accountable. It's sort of inane to claim to be a good guy, and stop short of only murder to be a good guy. If it's anything that need to be done to win, you really can't claim your the "moral one". And batman does claim his superiority. He is not afraid to do anything, and is self righteous when he gets questioned on it. He does not admit he was ever wrong, he doesn't apologize. The man could get someone killed and it would be "their fault". He's a compelling character, but there is a reason people don't like him. He is just as abusive as the villains he hunts with his bat family, and is always willing to tell you why your wrong. He's like a bad casserole. He can dish, but God he can't take.

@@permaflare : Batman never once claimed to be the good guy. That's wrong. His whole thing was being the bad guy the bag guys are afraid of. If you end up in Batman' s plans and is killed it is your fault or at the very least your death prevented the death of millions. It's not a great place to be sure but Batman takes responsibility for his actions. And again the dark knight never ever claimed to walk in the light.

Sure it’s made of heroes who Batman handpicked because he could count on their silence, but everybody who left the League for it did so under their own volition. And once it was no longer needed with Luthor no longer in power he had no objections about disbanding it and being folded back into the League. He even supported Black Lightning as the leader. And why? Because while Bats does make tough decisions and takes morally dubious courses, he doesn’t do it with a ‘my way or the highway’ mentality, but rather a ‘I’ll do this so the other heroes don’t need to do it’. And with Luthor holding legitimate authority and hamstringing the League’s efforts to the point that it can’t even offer humanitarian aid, something had to be done. Do I condone the lies and manipulative tactics? No. There were definitely things that were done which weren’t needed. But the short of it is that without Batman Inc or the Outsiders, the metahuman trafficking would have gone unopposed.

The problem is though, regardless as to what is best for the mission, it doesn't matter if you end up compromising your own morals or indirectly compromise other's morals without their knowledge. Both Jeff and Terra have now lost all faith and trust in people that they thought were their friends, and have their perception of their "friends" forever changed. Think about how horrible that is; if you learned that the people you fought with, the people you put your life on the line for, were just using you for their own gains. You'd become so disillusioned at the very thought of them in your mind; the whole idealized image you'd have of them would be shattered as you realize you never knew them from the start. The reason why this secret society of heroes doesn't work for them, is because the heroes have built their teams on pre-established trust between one another. Many heroes know each other personally beneath the mask, they've all built lives in the show together. So the act of violating this trust is basically blasphemy. The Light doesn't have this problem, because all of its members and underling know they're being used. Thus the idea of trust doesn't exist, only a cease fire.

I think that is the thing that scares the robin's most I mean : Dick tries to stay away from this kind of stuff altogether although he occasionally slips up he manages to bounce back although not without repercussions . Tim makes a conscious choice to do stuff like this at times albeit secretly, and the guilt eats the poor kid from the inside out. Jason basically embraced that darkness and it separated him form his family.

Alfred stated many times in the past (usually to Bruce alone) that he wanted him to have a normal life, instead of chasing after criminals (and therefore "missions") with a vengeance, fear that Bruce might lose himself in his pursuit. Yeah I have to agree with Leandro above me I think Dick often calls Batman out on his descision’s. And in this instance I think throughout the season he has started thinking the same thing as Barbra. Which is especially present in the last episode when he calls out everything that’s been happening, says it’s wrong and calls for black lightning to be put in charge. But it’s also something that you see him doubting long before it is found out like when he goes to Harpers insurance company and chats to Will about everything that’s going on and how he’s conflicted and needs someone to tell him he’s wrong. I do agree though that Babs does call Batman out more than Dick, but I do still think it’s a trait of both of them. They are very much his/the batfamilies moral compass.

I wonder about that, in their first mission in Markova, Dick got to choose his own team and I felt that he chose Jeff because he recognized he needed the opportunity to get back his fighting spirit, not because Bruce told him too and they seemed familiar with each other in a way unrelated to Batman because Dick knew he was going to show up after he recruited him despite saying no and they had a bit of a banter going on that showed they were friends. Which was probably why as Dick commented BL was more angrier with him, but only yelled at Batman because he wasn’t sick.

Its a big change, like I liked they invested in Blue Beetle and Bart in S2. This season focused heavy on Nightwing, Black Lightning, Halo, Geo Force, Forager, Tigress, Superboy as the Core. I was hoping the remain the Outsiders, but then they switched up half season when we grew with them. I don't mind switching every season to some new characters. I just didn't like the switch this season

I love new characters but I don’t like the way the show manages them. Especially in season 2, I love Rocket and Bee but the show kinda brought them in outta nowhere. Seem with Lagoon boy but the show dropped him all together after his relationship with Megan. Rocket and Bee didn’t even have an arc, or were implemented in any arc so it was so weird to see these people come together and go nowhere.

@@raffyr.5915 Rocket fs, However Bee has been given like mini arc. They have some idea with Bee, cause you can see it in a basically solo eps, especially her 3rd season appearance. I feel they want to to so something with Bee, but waiting till they can full give her an arc, not sure why it's taking so long.

@@gibbs615 His mission is to save everyone by any means necessary. If the "moral" way ends up killing more people any way, it isn't moral. That's the whole point as to why the JL hates how he does things sometimes, because it works and they know it.

@@ishuzokuculture Okay Batman Inc really WAS the best plan! However it was one thing keeping it from eveyone but then staging fake events on the Outsiders was going way too far.

@@gibbs615 u can see it like that but the outsiders wouldn't have made the goal and results that BB had in mind with out the bats stepping in. So at the end it was justified

What ever happened to Batman having FAITH in his allies though?! Keeping their task force from the others was one thing but using deception on the Outsiders to make them look good across social media was just too much and very inconsiderate and selfish of them.

Okay that last part about beast boy I 100% agree. I thought they should have bought him into the know and it would have strengthened their cause. Especially after last season and lying about Artemis and how that played out. But I also understand that might have been why they didn’t bring him into the loop because he would have called them out on how past experiences didn’t nessecarily pan out. Especially when he said to Dick last season to never do it again. Anyway as I’m writing this it’s reminding me all over again how well this show was written. Because really I can’t understand all of their points of view but I can still see how if they made different descisions it would have been better in ways and also worse in the same amount of ways. Life is complicated.

Yet by betraying everyone and resorting to fight fire with fire against the Light, what's so different between him and Luthor then? Batman just lost the moral high ground here. It's fortunate that just the team now who knows about this set up. Now, what if the public knew that one of the JLeaguers pulled something like this? They'll be calling for Batman's head, that's for sure.

@@alexanderchristopher6237 that's exactly why batman defected from the justice league, so in case everything got exposed the only one being held responsible would be him, not superman nor wonder woman, and by not sharing information they can have deniability, simply saying they were not aware of batman actions, also you ask what's different from batman and lex? well, lex and the light are making deals with an alien god who wishes to enslave/destroy all life in the universe, batman is trying to stop him, thats the difference

@@alexanderchristopher6237 They won't know. Batman may be shady in his methods, but he NEVER leaves a job half done. Heck, if he was able to keep such a secret from his friends and family. Bruce is reducing the potential effects of this gamble, cause there still isn't a guarantee his plan will work. If it doesn't, he's the only one that will be held accountable. Not the League or the team. The moral high ground is irrelevant here. But this whole thing does go to show the lack of trust Batman has in the League, which is what pissed everyone off I guess.

There's ALWAYS another way and that's what the Outsiders was giving them, they did NOT need any of their help with improving their integrity they could've done that on their OWN! However maybe Batman Inc WAS the best solution cause on their own the Outsiders NEVER would've gotten as far as they did in worldwide social media popularity against Lex Luthor

@@manavkumar6590 It's not really that he doesn't trust them it's just simply Batman being himself he knows they are capable but that was a huge gamble and failure wasn't an option so taking a risk like that could go south it's best to have far less casualties which is why he left them out of his plan hell it's why he's a loner bc he knows what it takes and sometimes it's not pretty

Such a naive way of thinking. You think the bad guys care how u want to win. If these guys keep on nagging about losing themselves in the process eventually they will lose their lives before losing themselves. Unfortunately in their line of business sooner or later they have to make such decisions for the greater good of civilians. And doing it this way is a small price to pay for saving countless lives. You can't bring a knife to a gun fight. Can't keep bringing these righteous beliefs in a corrupt setting when the game is already rigged for the bad guys. Bats is right. Agreed, plus he is the only one who is willing to make the choices no one else would make, and actually take full responsibility for them.
