This was the first Batman movie I where say, so growing up I thought he's movies were supposed to be goofy and campy then, when I saw the Dark Knight, I knew that was a real Batman movie. But, honestly, I'd always thought casting wise, Clooney wasn't to bad.Too bad that he was trapped in such a goofy movie

I would mostly blame the writer of the movie, not the Actors. AT least they sort of tried their best with what they were given.

The best thing out of this movie was poison ivy 😄

Fun Fact: The reason Coolio is in this movie is because WB promised him the role of Scarecrow in the movie after B&R, but that got scrapped

Want to point out the scientist that created Bane and Ivy, is a Swamp Thing villain named Floronic Man. He's more recognizable today as the main villain of the Batman and Harley Quinn animated movie.

I saw this film on Christmas Day 1997 on VHS that my parents got, and it was just awful! Lol! Joel Schumacher, what the F--K happened!? Arnold Schwarzenegger was miscast as Mr. Freeze. They should have gone with Patrick Stewart.

I've tried about 8 times, but I've never made it past the opening sequence. The cheese is too intense. I didn't even realize Batgirl was in this movie. And this is coming from someone who liked Batman Forever.

How does it feel to already have seen the batman already 🥲

The fact that George Clooney acknowledges this as being the worst Batman makes it a little more bearable. I bet if he got a second shot in a mutltiverse twist he would be a lot better. He’s got the Bruce Wayne charm. The script and the dialogue was corny.

I can’t wait to see the dark knight trilogy reviews cause Chris your going all out with these reviews where some will lie your telling the absolute truth, keep it going cause you inspire me to make my own movies and improve them with your videos

Ah, Batman and Robin, the other Batman movie I have never watched and it seems okay to be honest. I mean Arnold does seem cool as Mr Freeze

I loved this movie I would get home from school and just watch it even though it got a lot of hate

The only thing I appreciated about this film was Mr.Freeze’s suit, and the Artic suits for the Bat family.

This was ironically my favorite Batman movie when i was a kid

Even though this was the 1st Batman I saw and got me into super hero movies in general, I'll admit after watching it a years later I see why people hate it so much. For me I still enjoy the movie bc it was the 1st one I saw.

5:43, that was the best Mr. Freeze I've ever seen. He was an emotionless superman whom wanted to teach the world a lesson they'll never forget.

I don’t care what anyone says this movie is a 10/10 and Arnold is the best Mr. Freeze we’ll ever get In all seriousness I have nothing but nostalgia for this and I can understand all the problems with this but if this were a more serious movie like 89 I think the movie would’ve been way way way better especially since it had the amazing actors it had. But in the end I’m glad we got the movie we got

4:20 They went from making the 1989 film to get away from the campy Adam West type Batman to going right back to that style. All because overprotective parents hated Batman Returns.

I, like most people, don’t particularly like this movie but I also can’t help but enjoy it. It holds a special place in my heart as the introduction to a few Batman characters and as one of my first Batman movies ever. The set pieces and “grandness” of this movie is kind of admirable and I can tell that they honestly tried to do something big, I respect that.

It was noted in interviews that val Kilmer wanted to come back but at the time the studio rushed the sequel into production to capitalize on the success of Batman Forever but Kilmer was filming The Saint at the time for WB and couldn't return.

I hope the new Batman film franchise took cues from the Animated Series; do it for Burton!

I loved Batman and Robin, and that entire Batman saga,takes me back to my childhood... When it came out it was the biggest film of its time, look how far we've come... Great Review as always Chris.

I love this movie because all the bad things about it is what makes it laughable and entertaining. Though I do wish Joel had been allowed by WB to make a darker/more serious movie. It would have been hilarious though to have gotten Nicolas Cage as The Scarecrow in the unmade Batman Triumphant. And all the memes that would have come out of that.

I seen this in theaters when I was very little n I didn't know what was going on haha. I never liked it but thought the PS1 game was cool cuz u could free roam a lil with the Batmobile.

I agree with you in quite a few ways. The looks of Mr. Freeze and Robin were great, the side story with Alfred was one of the best parts of the movie, and the potential for a really great film was there, if only they’d played this movie straight up, more seriously, and with a darker tone and feel. I’d love to see what Tim Burton would’ve done with these characters if he’d been the director of all four films and if WB hadn’t pissed him off.

I remember seeing Batman and Robin in the movies with my younger brother and he loved it. I can't hate it as we got four Batman movies during the 90's.

I remember watching the vhs tape for batman and robin at my grandma's house and I loved it and still do even if it is very dumb

I just got done watching all the batman movies and man batman returns was the best one so far it was very entertaining from start to finish love that movie but as a child my favorite has to go with batman and robin

Minor thing with this movie, Jonathan crane (scarecrow) actually had an appearance at one of the bike races, which was initially done to set up for the originally planned next movie where scarecrow and harley quinn (daughter of the joker in this series) would be going after Batman for revenge

Been watching all the Batman movies with you as I caught the last end of the Halloween series you did really making revisiting the series an amazing journey with seeing the movies with an open mind then learning all the interesting tid bits and amazing praise you have for these movies even in their lowest parts Really can't praise you enough man you're a legend in the making!

I remember being younger and being surprised that this movie actually existed because I had never heard of it. My parents were always huge Batman fans and watched the movies when they were on but never learned about this until seeing it in a 4 movie bundle. I remember liking it as a kid but not nearly as much as the others. Now I can see why I never heard of this movie.

I always have such a funny story to tell for this movie every time I tell my friends I was like 7 years old watching some clips of the Batman and robin movie and specifically the scene of Ivy breaking out Freeze out of Arkham. The moment Ivy was kissing the 2 guards my mom caught me and thought I was watching porn and grounded me. Years later I rewatched this movie with my mom and I was like mom you remember when you grounded me for watching this 💀 I just love this movie cause of it’s camp when technically comics have always had camp just cranked up to a 10. Ivy is my favorite dc villain and this movie just ignited that sentiment. It’s just a guilt pleasure this movie like yeah they basically did the character of Bane dirty but I think Ivy was portrayed pretty good by Uma Thurman.

When I was growing up, There were No Batman movies... All we had was Adam West reruns and Super Friends cartoons. Batman with Keaton and Nicholson was My first Batman movie.. Comparing Batman '89 to Batman &Robin would be like comparing a Lamborghini to a Volkswagen.....

This movie is an absolute guilty pleasure. I fucking love this movie

It may not be the best batman film made...but having been born in 1990 and watching this when it first came out. Just looking back at those little cut scenes of it in this video trigger so many great nostalgic memories. Which leads me to stand by the fact this movie was incredibly captivating for kids below the age of 12 and for that I say, this movie was incredibly good. The colours, set design, theatrics, fantasy and wonder all made for a movie that captivated me as a kid...all these years later I'm reminded of certainly feelings and memories that I cant really say i get from any other batman or movie for that fact. Lets also not forget how great of a job this movie did for expanding the wide variety of toys that were released. This movie is what caught our attention as kids and although it might have "killed the franchise". I would say its what enabled my generation to then feel invested and captivated by the Darker interpretation by Nolan. (The cycle of Batman)
