In this video I am going to be showcasing one of the two birthday gifts that I received off my beautiful partner Ellen. So up first I am going to be unboxing my 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Filmarena One Click edition of Batman vs Superman.
Great movie. I remember when it came out the marvel friends I have said it didn't have enough action. I was like, "What movie did you watch? The whole second half of the movie was action"
Unfortunately when it comes to Marvel fans they see only what they want to see particularly when it comes to DC. It's a ridiculous way to be when you think about it. It gave me everything and more.
This is a really nice edition, Keith, and the film is very good, I really enjoyed it. I'm not a great super hero lover, but I do enjoy the DC movies. I have all the Marvel movies as well and only watched about three of them. Not sure when I will get around to watching them. 12 of 500 is a pretty cool number, as you said the lowest yet. The artwork looks great, the whole thing screams premium. A very nice prezzie from Ellen.
I have to admit Gary I was a big fan of Superhero movies but I don't have much time for them nowadays. I just like everybody else seems to be burnt out by them and thankfully we seem to be getting the brake that we needed when it came to Superhero movies. Having said that this movie in particular I thought was fantastic and I cannot believe I own such a release for it. Ellen always delivers when it comes to prezzies. Thank you as always for stopping by and checking it out
Great video Keith, I agree with everything you said about Batman V Superman. I don't get the haters, especially about Jesse Eisenberg, he is such a talented guy, his performance is different and spot on as Lex Luthor. I just liked this movie in the theater but I now I really love it, I've seen it many times and I prefer the theatrical cut more than the extended cut . Those editions are amazing, I see you are well loved by your partner. Congratulations Keith , Film Arena really rules ! Take care my friend!
Same I'm 45 and have been reading comics basically my whole life. Zack nailed that film. I don't think people understand comics really ain't for kids. Not all but most. Thanks for the vid Keith!
Always great to hear that there's another fan out there for this movie. I really thought I was going to be on my own. Just like yourself I seen it in the cinema and I enjoyed it but it's only when I got it at home that's when I grew to love it and I'm still pinching myself that I have such a beautiful release like this for it. All I need to get now is a collector's edition for Man of Steel and that's me sorted. But thank you as always for taking the time to stop by and share your thoughts on the movie. I really do appreciate it
There is so many of them out there. This was the one that I always wanted to get my hands on and I can confirm this will definitely be the last one I'm picking up. I hope. Thank you so much Jimmy for checking it
It's one of those movies that looks great on every single format. I really need to revisit this movie on 3D. It's been a while. Thank you for checking it out John
I have to admit I am very surprised by the comment section tonight. I didn't think there was much love out there for these movies but going by my comment section I couldn't be more wrong. Thank you so much Joe for taking the time to stop by and check it out
I stayed away from BvS for a long time because of all the negative comments about it, what a mistake! When I finally saw it I loved it! Like yourself, I love this trilogy and this is indeed the best movie of the three.
I remember going to see this in the cinema and I'm not going to say I hated it but I wasn't too impressed. It's only when I got it at home on my own setup that's when I grew to love it. It's a great trilogy. Thank you so much my friend for stopping by
Each to their own nobody is right or wrong you should always watch and judge for yourself form your own opinion of it don't listen to reviewers or mates
I'm not a huge fan of superhero films mate, BUT ! like you I love the Snyder's trilogy! I bought the hmv 4k box set . Superman blew me away with the atmos , as for batman v superman, also awesome and the specular highlights in hdr are dazzling . Demo worthy discs. As for low numbered edition my jaws vault edition is number 32/4000. That's only 31 away from No1 😂
Hey Ian. To be honest I am completely burnt out when it comes to Superhero movies. As a matter of fact I haven't watched a new superhero movie in almost 2 years. I just don't have time for them. Having said that the Zack Snyder trilogy I found to be highly entertaining and I'm so happy to actually own such a beautiful collector's edition of Batman v Superman. That's a very low number by the way you have for Jaws. I think the lowest number I have when it comes to a collector's edition in my collection is number 4 and it is Xtro and it was limited to 100 copies.
I've never seen Batman Vs Superman. The last Batman film I saw was Batman Begins! And the only Superman films I've seen are the Christopher Reeve ones. I grew up with Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman and I always wanted to be her. I tried the spin and everything! 😂
Great video for an epic release! I own this too and absolutely love it. Bvs is my favorite superhero film alltime and my second favorite film period. The version released on home video that is. 😂
Great to hear that you picked it up yourself. Finally a release worthy of the actual movie itself. I couldn't be happier and thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and check it out. I really appreciate all the support
Based on this, I picked up the 4k version. You’re right about the Imax scenes!! And I’d have to say, Affleck would be my favourite Batman so far. Cheers
Yeah the IMAX scenes are fantastic but there is that come down from them. But take nothing away from the transfer itself it is top notch. Great to hear that there's another fan out there for Affleck as Batman. I don't think he gets the credit he deserves
I completely understand that Paul. But thank you so much for stopping by even though you're not the biggest fan. I really appreciate the support my friend
Keith I couldn't agree more. I watched BVS at the cinema and wasn't too keen on it, then a few years later I watched the ultimate edition and couldn't believe how much I enjoyed it. I have the blu ray and the both 4K's but I'd love to own this version. Not sure the wife would be so keen 😂 I think it suffered as people wanted DC to be like either Nolan's trilogy, or like what Marvel were doing. I think time has made people rethink this movie. I read the original movie plan was Batman v Superman with Lex playing the puppeteer and Doomsday was supposed to be the second movie but WB wanted to speed things up. Great video as always Keith.
I think Warner Brothers were the victims of their own demise. It felt like they were trying to catch up with Marvel and unfortunately they rushed a lot of projects and the movies suffered for it. But take nothing away from the Zack Snyder trilogy which I thought he'd done a wonderful job on. It's just a shame we will never see where he was going to take those movies. As for this edition as you can tell by the video I couldn't be happier. Never thought I would own a release like this. Thank you as always Darren for taking the time out of your day to stop by and share your thoughts on the movie itself. I really appreciate the effort my friend
@@millerman9991 yeah I wish they'd let him do the planned finish which was two more Justice League movies. There are art boards displaying the original story (although I believe it was changed due to the Lois/Bruce thing). I'm not a fan of all Snyder's work, he can be a bit hit and miss but when it's good, I think it's really good... and at least he takes risks. Thanks for showing us this edition Keith and hreat job to Ellen for a suoer cool gift. If I wasn't already spending more than I should on blu rays and 4k's I'd be very tempted
@KeepYaHeadUpTS I'm not the biggest fan of him myself even though I think his debut movie dawn of the Dead was one of the better remake I've seen out there. He does take risks but sometimes it backfires on him. That's the problem when it comes to collecting. To many Editions so little money. I am right there with you Darren
Hey Keith, that is a fantastic addition. This is a great trilogy. I do prefer Nolan’s, but this one definitely has its moments and when I heard Ben Affleck was going to be Batman I didn’t agree with it but after seeing him I think he did a good job. Finally, some good news I have a80L 83 inch on the way and believe it or not I have Schneider‘s trilogy on 4K, but have not watch them put them in to check how they looked but for whatever reason didn’t watch them as I’ve seen them all before not in 4K not on an OLED and not in Atmos, so I’m definitely in for a treat a good way to break in the new television🙂 looking forward to suicide squad👍
I am so happy to hear that you have your new TV coming your way and what a TV it is. You have some very exciting times coming your way John. Trust me I know. Even now I'm still trying to get through some of my greatest hits when it comes to 4K releases and I'm not even close to being done. You really need to get back to me and let me know what you think once you have it all set up. I know it costs quite a lot of money but I think it's money well spent. Think about how much entertainment you're going to get from it over the years
Great video as always Keith. Great edition too, however I must disagree with you my friend (and it’s probably the first time I have haha) however Christopher Reeve will always be Superman in my eyes, Henry Cavill just didn’t do enough as the character as a whole in my opinion, especially his Clarke Kent portrayal. But that’s why films are so amazing and subjective, everyone has different tastes👍🏻
Don't get me wrong Dave Christopher Reeve is absolutely phenomenal in the role but it was only for two movies. I cannot stand Superman 3 and 4. I just found Henry Cavill to be a lot more consistent. Also bear in mind I have no ties towards the comics and maybe Christopher Reeves role was a bit more faithful to the comics. I honestly wouldn't have a clue. But thank you as always for taking the time to stop by and share your thoughts on it
@@millerman9991 as I say my friend this is why movies are so amazing, they are so subjective from cast to story to setting. That’s what makes the industry and community within that so passionate. I could talk for hours about movies and the industry haha.
@Deelz_ I couldn't agree more with you. I've said it so many times in my videos but if we all agreed on the same thing then what's the point. We'd have nothing to talk about
Just be careful which version you buy Marty because there's two out there. You definitely want the ultimate edition. That comes with the best 4K transfer
I wasn't a fan of it myself when I seen it in the cinema. But when I got it at home that's when I felt very differently about it. Thanks for checking it out Stuart
Great video Keith. I love this movie. Have you seen the remastered version of BVS that was done when he released the Snyder cut of Justice league? The colour grading is far superior and the imax shots are displayed in the correct ratio. Worth picking up!
Hey Mark. The 4K disc in this edition is in fact the remastered version. Like I said in the video the IMAX scenes look absolutely astonishing. The only problem is you will have that come down after them. But take nothing away from it still looks fantastic. Thank you so much by the way for stopping by
@@millerman9991 i really enjoy your channel mate. Your collection is insane! I dont get why this movie gets so much hatred. Affleck’s version of Batman is much darker and brutal which i personally prefer. I hope Netflix manages to get the IP and Zack gets to finish his Justice league trilogy🤞🏻 Take care buddy, i look forward to more videos!
@marknorwood9944 I really appreciate that Mark. It's always great to talk to fellow collectors who love this as much as I do. It's probably why I started this RU-vid channel in the first place. Yeah I agree with you by the way when it comes to Netflix but I cannot see Warner Brothers giving that up anytime soon unfortunately
I keep having my comment deleted... I was just saying Affleck embodies very well the Bruce Wayne persona. Keith, do you already own the French collector's edition of Bong Joon-ho The Host? I have just discovered it and thought you might find it interesting. In Spain more affordable (can't even say the name or my comment gets deleted!)
RU-vid can be a real pain in the ass sometimes when it comes to deleting comments. I'm so sorry about that my friend No I don't own the French collector's edition because I have a beautiful box sets from that director and the host is featured in the set so I felt it wasn't necessary to pick it up again. I must check it out and see what it's like
hey keith can you please confirm if the 4k disc is the new remastered version that came out in 2021 with the new remastered colour and enhanced imax shot scenes ?
if the ratio changes to 1.33:1 during the IMAX scenes it means its the remastered 2021 version please let me know as I have just ordered the 4k version of this set.
Sorry Dom I forgot to mention it in the video but it is in fact the remastered version that came out in 2021. I think I did mention the IMAX scenes in the video. They look absolutely extraordinary. I really hope that helps you out my friend
@millerman9991 thank you for confirming because I just ordered it but I also had a standard edition of the remastered I was just going to swap the discs if the film arena wasn't. much appreciated 👏
