Well in my opinion, my opinion is that your opinion is an opinion that is a correct opinion as far as opinions go (yes, I’m giving you a bit of a hard time for using the word opinion too many times in one sentence)
In a Harley quin comic, she revealed to power girl that Harley and joker had a child. Harley gave the child to her sister to raise because she was afraid joker would kill it.
@Dion Lackey My bad. You're right. It was black canary in injustice. Daughter was named lucy. I'm so used to harley and power girl that i remembered power girl not canary.
As with so many good ideas in modern comics… what was a great idea in principle gets taken, watered down and generally shoved down readers throats until they can’t stand the object and start gagging at every sight
Can we appreciate how the Red Hood was only who reacted fast enough to shoot once? Also why the first question you ask in the title is if he can reproduce? 🤨
@@marshallramirez5590 I mean they could at least draw batarangs, you don't need much time to pull out one. But maybe, Red Hood just trusted Batman the least, especially infected
@@kamewantor4594 I mean red hood was tortured by joker, So him having his guns pulled out probably makes sense cuz batman would turn into the thing that tortured him
I love how it went from just an Ordinary Batman trying to stop the Joker to a Batman helping create universes just to watch them go into chaos and then battling a being that watches the universes and is trying to conquer them
I’d like to see one more Darkest Knight: A deranged Warner Bros executive whose parents were killed by street crime and so decided that the only way to eradicate his enemies was to turn them into bastardized versions of themselves in quest for pure profit.
The Batman who laughed is so dangerous that even the Joker agreed and teamed up with Batman to stop this guy. If you make a maniac like Joker who is pretty much an avatar of chaos agree to help a beacon of order like Batman, then that says a lot about how dangerous you are.
@@PeaceEllen exactly. Even chaos understands it needs thing a world to cause chaos, as well as have an opposing force to go against it, otherwise it wouldn't be chaos without order.
I can't wait for the Batman who riddles, the Batman who freezes, the Batman who scares crows, the Batman who two faces, the Batman who penguins and the Batman who banes 🙃
My brain just filled it in as the spikes and all were sensors. He was seeing a Jokerized Detective Mode the whole time. Did not even consider anatomy, or blindness until I seen the thumbnail and started overthinking everything. Now after watching the whole video. I must say, did not expect that and I wish I could read comics regularly enough to be remotely caught up.
I over thought the hell out of this. Was he, much like the Joker, leaning into something he found funny, like "blind as a bat"? Was he so confident, through his training, that he didn't need his eyesight anymore, that he did this as a sort of shock thing given his persona as Batman? I can say one thing I didn't think of, that I love: His ability to "Sherlock" people (know more about someone with just a casual glance than what a casual glance should normally tell) has gone haywire. His analytical mind, with the Joker's craziness, causes him to see hallucinations of the worst things they could possibly do or become, so he blinds himself to not by distracted by them.
It's a helmet, our batman makes one aswell in the comics so he can get a better understanding of the batman who laughs It would clever if it was a play on "blind as a bat" but it's not. It's just a helmet
The Helmet is made of a Magic Metal that gives DarkMultiverse Vision (basically it shows everything like it part of the Dark Multiverse) it is also causes Auditory Hallucinations I remember it's kinda implied that it damages the Vision of the Wearer but not so much to the level of a Bat (it's mostly Hyper Sensitivity towards Light)
@@HarlanMalkavian How is actually being intelligent and not downplayed make someone boring. If Batman was a fuckin idiot all the time I know you'd complain as well. 😂
@@WallNutBreaker524batman is plot armor made character, you have countless times where batman win because of a thing it was "secret" and help him, they literally make an armor that makes him the strongest just to have an actual way for batman to beat them without being ridiculous
As someone who avoids this…thing like the plague, I have to admit titling your video with “can he reproduce?” sent a jolt of primal fear down my spine.
Yeah agreed. I mean you can argue that because it's omnipotent without omniscience he can be caught off guard and lose or that he isn't immortal or indestructible (maybe). But it does seem really weird that someone can be all powerful and still be beaten by a "lesser" being.
@@GameTimeWhy I like to think of it as levels of omnipotent . Like a scale 1.1 1.2 and so on and same for 2 so one might be operating on a higher scale of omnipotent than the other
Fighting a pre-primorial “beyond the multiverse of multiverses” being, like Mr. Bean, Kirby or Mr. Magoo, is just like trying to defeat an abstract concept or something that came out of imagination.
The visor thing always made me curious. I was wondering if he had purposefully blinded himself, in some theme befitting "blind as a bat" It's easy enough to picture that he can operate with his other senses just as effectively, to compensate for his lack of sight, given all the scenes of him training while blind folded. It's quite another thing to say that with the Joker's craziness afflicting him, his ability to "Sherlock" people has gone haywire as well, making the act of viewing people spawn the images of the worst possible outcomes, like hallucinations.
In one of the comics where the og Batman gets "jokerized" to fight the batman who laughs, it is shown that when you're the joker you hallucinate a lot and you can't see things for what they are. The visor is to block the joker vision and batman makes it so he can go after the Batman who laughs
@@evanzwesley3159 according to some, his visor is apparently invisible (inside looking out). I prefer to think that he finds his vision distracting, so he's actually using his hearing and smell to detect his surroundings, as well as touch (vibrations through the floor)
I feel the Batman who laughs is who batman would be if he ever resulted to killing. Batman himself says that if he ever started killing he thinks he wouldn’t be able to stop ( that’s why he doesn’t kill the Joker regardless of how many lives he takes and why he doesn’t kill criminals) And you see, that once he actually does kill Joker is where things go down hill, and his worst fear comes true. It very beautifully and maniacally portrays the “what if” that Batman him self is afraid and I love that about tBwL
I always feels that this logic is nothing much more than a slippery slope. I think the writer for TBWL knows this, which is why they slipped the Joker's venom as a plot device to bring TBWL to life. Knowing Bruce, I think he have enough self-restraint and conscience that once he started killing, that's the moment when he would stop to don the mantle of the Batman. Not only because he's afraid that he'd start on a killing spree, but because he'd feel guilty.
If Batman killed he wouldn’t end up like the Batman who laughs the Batman who laughs is a Batman sprayed with joker toxin he basically goes insane and once to kill everyone if we had a Batman that killed one of his villains he would kill all his villains or most of them stoping crimes in Gotham
@@HeyZer0 to be fair, Snyder doesn't make dark movies, he makes edgy movies. It's less genuinely unsettling, and more like what a teenage boy thinks is mature and dark. Not much of substance. Also, he was trying to do it to the mainline DCEU, which is just a dumb idea. You can't really establish a dark universe until you establish the baseline universe.
@@HeyZer0 thank god. I want actual good movies from DCEU and I'd prefer less edginess/shallow writing. He makes some good movies, but lets admit he really shat the bed with DC.
Imo his final form should've involved replicating the Justice Leagues abilities, instead of Dr. Manhattan twice. Speedforce, Kryptonian strength, Lobo's regen, magic( mabye he learned from Zatana before becoming evil) Dr. Manhattan's power, a yellow lantern ring with a green and black one. His asspole would've been justified here, but it's ridiculous he beat Perpetua just because of Doctor Manhattans abilities, because he exists in most universes and is far below her. It would've been cool seeing the story of how he killed the Justice League, instead of him killing everyone in a one shot. I just feel like there is a lot of wasted potential for this character. They could have made him human still, dwelling in Prime Batmans Gotham becoming a member of his Rouge gallery.
You know, I'm rather more interested in the Owlman who laughs, also known as 'the brightest knight' Imagine! An omniptent hero who can save the entire multiverse! Would have been a FAR better ending for the comics if THOSE two clashed together.
I like the concept behind Batman's torture, seems like it would be the perfect way to break him mentally, but then the thing that turns him is the Joker toxin, seems to me like a bit of a waste since it pretty much overrides the relevance of the torture. Would be much more interesting if the catalyst of Batman's mental metathesis is the trauma from what he witnessed, and not just some poison that would have had that same effect anyway, regardless of the torture he endured, as the writing seems to imply with the other characters infected by the same toxin.
I think it’s because the concept of Batman’s willpower has already been well established. Time and time again he’s been through stuff that should have broken him and driven him to insanity, but time and time again he’s came out on top and shown that he’s truly incorruptible. So the only way to break him is chemical, and not psychological.
Batman only fears and respects one man Constantine. The laughing magician. The only one that batman consults for strategic advice when batman has no idea or clue on how to proceed.
I'm old as dirt and have been following Batman comics and a lot of DC comics since I was a child. The Batman Who Laughs irks me. Not the idea, but the canon-established "reality". When Joker becomes "sane", not Joker-type mad, he almost instantly becomes a thinking machine that borders on supernaturally cognitive relative to Bruce Wayne (Batman). Joker's brilliance may have freed him to do things because he wasn't as limited by what limits Batman via his ethics, but Joker's Joker nature really scrambled his ability to being Lex Luthor type conquering bad guy who thinks he's the hero. If the Batman Who Laughs was actually an altered Lex Luthor that was somehow that universe's Bruce Wayne originally, that would be an easier pill to swallow. Only Lex Luthor over the generations could combine sheer madness with ultimate planning, calculating brilliance on a believable level. A Bruce Wayne infected Joker chemical guy would be at best the black & white TV version of the laughable Lex Luthor, who would have eventually had is plans implode if Superman didn't get to him first.
yeah agreed. The Batman "prep time" has just become one giant joke. From watching the animated series growing up to this, Batman has quickly gone from my fav to my least fav of the justice league.
Quite the opposite actually, if I remember, that spiked thing is a visor that let's him see people and their emotions like an infared type of deal, and he CAN see without it, but his eyes are the definition of NIGHTMARE fuel.
I think he sees like a bat with sonar, maybe when he laughs the vibrations that break his laughter or send it back to him through his ears, and he can tell how far or how close, and in his head, he can see a picture almost in like a sonar light lines that break.
If so he's like a omnipotent Daredevil with no moral compass. And considering what Daredevil does to someone as light work that is terrifying. And this also opens up Bruce's entire Martial Skillset since I can tell he adjusts his techniques to the threat he's dealing with. So if he considers you a threat you would much rather be dead at that point.
Damn this is such a good explaination video, not once was i bored watching this and your voice is surprisingly calming, and yes BATMAN IS DA BOMB ahahha
People underestimate just how much meticulous planning goes into Jokers schemes. The Justice League Doom series when Lex Luthor decided to go back to being evil literally show how much detail Joker puts into his plot especially in my effort to make them seem random to throw people off
Imagine after Arkham Knight there was another game where the virus resurfaces after a few years, turning him into the Batman Who Laughs. It could have had the Bat family taking on all of the dark versions of Batman. Or they could have had to find another version of him.
I usually don't care about Batman-variations but all of these Dark Knights are very very cool and even if BWL isn't my favorite,he is still awesome both in design and just...villain-ness.
In the comics it shows him take off that thing with the spikes that appears to be some kind of visor. he sees through the thing with the pointy things on his face.
This is another example of a comic book story that is so incredibly contrived and nonsensical it pretty much justifies the hate some people have for comic books and the comic book “readers”. (Because, come on. You are looking at pictures and you don’t really want to read books.)
I’m actually more surprised he killed the Bat Family. As crazy as he is, wouldn’t he be more likely to turn them into other Jokers? He does it with those crazy Robins. And even does it later with alternate universe League members.
I like how I’m depth he discusses his morality and reason I’d love to hear an actual psychologist that’s a comic geek break down things in a rabbit hole type of depth
Lmao they really did overuse him for covid revenue, but his original appearance in Metal was awesome. If you just read that and Death Metal that he’s in he still rules. Even though he was blatantly shoehorned into Death Metal at the eleventh hour
Just had a cool thought... I believe the Batman Who Laughs has countermeasures for if a good batman synthesizes an anti-joker toxin or antidote for the joker toxin that could revert the Batman Who Laughs back to being Bruce Wayne/Batman. This countermeasure is different from the joker toxin that he already has that can turn anyone in the multiverse into a Batman Who Laughs and his fusion with Dr. Manhatten's body. Think of it as insurance that he stays Batman Who Laughs.
I think Batman is a metahuman I believe they made subtle nods only twice and I believe his ability is a minor one I would guess enhanced reflexes or being able to see a quarter of a second into the future something like that but Batman would never ever tell anyone under any circumstance. Which is why it makes it all the more of a threatening ability imagine if Barry Allen pretended to be human and under no circumstance ever revealed his speed even if he was 1/10 as fast as he is supposed to be it would make it such a huge advantage it would make it so his enemies always underestimated him it would make it so no one could ever properly prepare for him because all you know is that he disappears he makes 100% saving throws he seemingly knows what's going to happen before it does. Maybe this isn't the case however I feel like Batman would never reveal a metahuman ability if he had one. He also couldhaveSome sort of healing Factor . in the Christopher Nolan movies we saw what a toll it took on Bruce Wayne to essentially be Batman for just a few weeks in what would be known as in game time
The way they incorporate Manhattan and his powers was just an unfathomably stupid plot device. Probably genuinely the absolute worst modern day comics asspull I've ever seen.
I believe that's the problem with that universe. he knows everyone's weakness and he doesn't see himself as a threat so when things like this happens there's no weakness other than bringing his parents back to life.
As to the seeing part, I have a theory. The metal mask acts as an amplifier for echolocation, and his. Horns act as receivers that send the signal to his brain, that way he can "see".
Since I was a child in the 80s reading the Justice League comic books I knew that Batman Bruce Wayne literally had a way to take out every single person in the Justice League and him becoming the Batman who laughs seeing this story absolutely proves it
I never understand how you people believed this. A simple push from superman or wonder woman or flash would kill him. Only reason batman could survive anyone of them is if the author of the story is with him. Mary sue ish if you ask me
@@SA-uz9sn ya true even though m not dc fan but i know superman or wonder woman can kill him instantly we saw Superman's reflex in film when he see flash in microsecs nd batman is just a human but still he has very low chance bcz he got big brain nd uses it thats why as in video he says if any of the heros survives he lose already
This character is one of the most powerful villains in the dc and marvel universe. I can see this dude giving the avengers a tough fight and still win.
Always wondered as a kid what would happen to Bruce Wayne if he was truly infected with Gotham's clown Prince and we get to see it with the Batman who laughs literally had these images in my head as a kid and I'm so glad somebody did it and infected Batman this is fucking fantastic
Friggin amazing video about one of my fav characters, 10/10. Only thing that bugged me was at 0:27 "Existenal"? Lol on behalf of someone who also talks fast and gets tongue tied a lot it's ex-is-ten-tial (yes its nitpicky but that's why I formatted the comment to hide it from first glance 😂)
I love bwl for one reason; he ticks batman fan boys off. He is everything they say batman is, fully prepared for everything, including himself. Even a team of batman and superman couldn't beat him. Instead of batman who laughs they should call him Batman OP.
Fanboys are definitly not mad. Where are u seeing that all? All it does is prove those fanboys right. If batman pulled out all the stops and decided to kill this is what would happen.
The answer is highten sence he has a couple ways to see he either can see body heat thermal vision or excellent hearing last one vibration he can sense the vibration of things around him like a snake when it stick its tongue out it can locate its prey same applies to batman who laughs
