honestly, everyone shits on the old translation, but it's average for a 90s game. what sucks is that they cut out half of the game lol, still a lot of lines on the psp remake are incredibly stiff compared to the shitty old translation.
@@TGAM2005 Well, that's most likely because Meguro didn't work on Strikers' music at all, he's just credited as the composer of the OG P5 tracks. P1 and P2 duology's battle theme remixes were all Kitajoh
@@ender7278 It's hard to argue that, considering what they later did for both P2 games (remixes for pretty much every theme in the game _and_ you can swap to the original themes if you want) and the fact this game came out at a time when the PSP already had a few years under its belt. It was definitely possible for P1 too, there's reason to believe that what they did to the music in the remake was a deliberate choice. To be honest, imo Lone Prayer kinda matches the context of the awakening cutscenes, and this is coming from someone who likes the original battle theme more. It's just a shame that this had to be cut for it...
@@NessBrawl64 You're right. P2P proves it wasn't a technical limitation. My mistake. However, I find this song would better suit a final boss than a first fight.
@@ender7278 plus let me add that technical limitations would've been impossible since the psp versions uses audio files rather than MIDI, which takes less space
Love or hate revelations persona, you gotta admit some of the lines were pretty funny for a E rated game. I remember scaring away this one demon and his words were “farewell, retarded one!” Also nate almost calls guido a motherfucker so I didn’t expect that
I wish there was a patch for the PS1 version that fixed the localization. I know a patch exists that gives the PSP version its older music, which I have been using, but it doesn't include every track. And it especially doesn't have this one. Awakenings don't feel as good with just the regular battle theme.
I don't think the PSP ost should be removed for a P1 remake, since there are people who like it. Atlus should give us the option to switch between both soundtracks.
I decided to play the ps1 version over the psp one guessing there would be songs and other parts of the game missing like this one. The original may not have aged well, but it is the true revelations persona experience.
@@scrappy2082 but it's still missing the awakening theme, apparently. What i decided to do is go through SQQ and SEBEC branches with PSP OST, do a rerun of SQQ with that rom-hack and then just play the revelations on ps1. Might sound complicated, but hey, that way I'll get the fullest experience out of both OST's.
Correction: the PS1 Japanese version with an English translation. The English localization team made many mistakes on the official English PS1 release. Even more than just text errors.
I know that this video is kinda old now so the likelihood of anyone seeing this is pretty abysmal, but does anyone know the name of the song that plays at 0:18-0:22, at 5:48-5:52, and at 6:01-6:21? I've been wondering it's name for the longest time and just now remembered that I still don't know this song's name. (any help at all would be appreciated)
The Persona awakenings are important story events. A song you're going to hear a lot throughout the rest of the game being tossed into it feels lazy in comparison.
As someone who is just now playing Persona 1 for the first time (PSP version), I did sort of find it strange that there wasn't an awakening battle theme, yet I never really questioned it because I was more surprised by how the awakenings didn't feel all that special. Just "oh hey I got a persona". Then again, A Lone Prayer is amazing enough on its own!
