Now I understand why people like this song more than Lone Prayer. It fits the fact that it's a random encounter, and the fact that the team is most likely very focused on defeating whatever enemy there is. Edit: to clarify, this makes it feel more like a skirmish, everyone's attacking an enemy and doing whatever necessary in order to swiftly defeat their enemies
Doodlebug Four Exactly! "Doctor" in particular is a great example of that. The PSP's version OST for example is good on it's own merits, but it lacks the "dreamlike" atmosphere. Which makes it less distinctive (and fitting IMO) in comparison.
The fact that this is getting a remix in Scramble makes me so happy. So glad that this is finally getting some recognition - even though P1 PSP's ost was okay, I really wanted this to get remixed. Better late than never, I guess.
I don’t understand the remake of all the songs, since Persona 1 was pretty much a SMT: if sequel and the new songs wouldn’t make sense since they’re were very SMT (including Devil Summoner [the prequel of Soul Hackers])
It fits the game a lot more than the persona 3-ish theme Shoji Meguro did for the remake. Don't get me wrong, i like Shoji Meguro's stuff, but the original OST for persona was a lot more fitting for the game.
that's true, i feel like i prefer Lone Prayer more so for the fact it makes me vibe while planning stuff, this feels like it'd just blend into the background and resurface as small soundbites in my head that i have no idea where it originates from in the futures and that irritates me sometimes.
This is actually pretty good for a normal encounter and blends in with the original atmosphere of the very first persona game where the puzzles are beginning to form.
Will never tire hearing this. Keep bitching about encounter rates (even though you can teach literally any persona estoma at least in psp version) i can't stop jamming to this. I just wish the ost patch kept the closing segments and added more of the songs psp didnt have.
For anyone who doesn't know, Persona 5 Scramble has a modernized remix of this battle theme à la Persona 2 PSP's soundtrack. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6ohDTaKCtio.html
Seeing that Kitajoh (i think it was him) went out of his way to actually remix it makes me so freaking happy. My hopes for an official remix of the PS1 battle theme went out the window when the PSP version released...
@@wolfetteplays8894 oh, right. How would that work? I didn’t even think about that. I guess you could make the demons’ models their outer layer, hmm...
i really dont hear it. it has the same synths but that's it. Metallica and the Eagles both have guitars but i'd hardly call them similar. maybe that's not fair, it's more like saying Master of Puppets sounds like a remix of Ride the Lightning. or whichever one came first, don't bully me on my lack of Metallica knowledge.
@@charleswisconsin9196 its not necessarily in melodic content, its that their riffs have the same rhythmic values assigned to their notes and they have a similar song structure (i think their bpm is the same too) Theyre not direct copies of each other, the differences/similarities is more like comparing Benny Goodman's "Sing Sing Sing" with "Run Llama Run" from the Emperor's New Groove score.
It's not really our fault though, the localization for Persona 1 is *horrendous* and the PSP remake, although good, is not the best way to play Persona 1. Atlus needs to move on from Persona 5 (even though I fucking love that game with a passion) and remake Persona 1 and 2 Duology
N8 PlaysAGame the psx version ... yes The psp version fixed a lot of the issues like the stupid world map . I suggest you try it . If you’re talking about the psp version , well , it just wasn’t your cup of tea . Personally I had so much fun playing it and mostly everyone I talked to liked it , but I can see why someone would dislike it .
We've all felt that sentiment listening to Megaten OSTs. The Fear of God from Strange Journey is the most notable one for me. Really goes to show how hard the composers go.
For MC and Nanjo's voice clips, it sounds like "PERSANA" to me. Digression: this comment is a reprieve from the OST debate, and it's exactly the topic I'm looking for. I sincerely thank you for it.
And they actually made the game easier in Revelations, lowering the counter rate and giving more EXP per battle, in reality is far higher in the Japanese version.
@@AJ-po6up ive played revelations and japanese version. its exactly double exp and half encounter rate for steps. also personas learn skills faster in revelations. also hp of the enemies is often lower in rev.
This theme always reminds me of TRF's EZ DO DANCE (yes yes, Mark danced crazy!) Which would kind of make sense, given how TRF were really popular in Japan at this time.
If you can read Japanese, get a japanese ps1, get this game, and experience the original experience, Revelations is a terrible localization, and the PSP version changes so many things the tone is not even the same, you NEED to play this game how it was originally, trust me
Literally me mate. Got the original Japanese. Hell of a ride through. Good god Revelations shits all over the original. And the PSP version is nice and all but the music is butchered.
@@destroyerdan6945 That works too honestly, I also don't like a lot of the menu changes and the background changes, a lot of the art changes too. But that's all nit picking really, so that's probably good enough if you want the experience.
I think part at 0:54 is referenced in DDS1’s Steel Coffin Second Movement. It could also be one of the P2 tracks but I think this one is the original reference.
