Battle Breakdown: the Battle of the Dreadnoughts (...plus is Ep.2 coming?) | Star Wars 

What do you guys think of the plot of Battle of the Dreadnoughts? What would you like to see in a potential second episode? A whole new battle or a continuation of the first battle? Make sure you watch until the end, where I discuss my plans for the future!

So basically Ghost Ship is Bismarck and Alliance British Navy.

Suggestion: a “Star Wars” version of “World of Warships”. Reason: we Star Wars fans have flown ships no bigger than the Sorosuub Luxury Yachts, Y-8 Mining Ships, YE-4s, AEG-77 Vigos, & the Incom X-4s. I wonder what its like to Navigate larger ships while firing the cannons & such. Gameplay would likely be similar to World of Warships in that if you gave the autopilot the course it needs to follow, it’ll adjust to avoid asteroids & other objects in space. And you could also designate a target while you focus on another so that as the secondary passes by, all guns that are available to your targeting reticle could be used & such.

Who would win? Eck if he controls the galactic empire Or Eck if he controls the UNSC or Eck if he controls the system alliance

Ecks, I would absolutely LOVE to see a sequel to Battle of the Dreadnoughts. In the first one, it felt like you took a mini Star Wars movie and just put it on RU-vid and that was just awesome. I also have a question. When you were playing empire at war remake, did you use the steam game, and if so, how did you get it to work, because I have been trying to get it to work for weeks and just can’t figure it out.

Knowing Palpatine the ghost ship could be the Eclipse III, just one more of his 'parting gifts' to the galaxy. The Breakdown and lore you gave to this battle is amazing. I do hope there is a sequel.

As someone who saw Battle of the Dreadnoughts in my recommended but didn't watch it until some time later, part of the problem was that I didn't realize it was a fan film. I thought it was a breakdown of a battle from legends, which I'm more accustomed to seeing from you (I wasn't a subscriber at the time, so only knew you from my recommendeds). Also, the thumbnail didn't capture my attention - it was mostly dark (space does that) and I personally don't like the profile of the Eclipse II that much. I think that if I had realized it was a fan film featuring ship models by EC Henry, I would have clicked much sooner. Hope this helps!

would love to see a continuation of Battle of the Dreadnoughts to see how the starfighters go against this ghost eclipse. Reminds me a bit of the attack on the Bismarck. I know i'd love to see a second episode/ continuation of the first. (And if you're thinking about doing something different, doing a large scale clone wars engagement could be cool)

I'D BE WILLING TO PUT DOWN SOME MONEY FOR A BIGGER MOVIE! WHO'S WITH ME?!

One thing I noticed in the actual video is how the captain of the Eclipse 2 (3?) seems to go back and forth between what looks to be a more conventional Star Destroyer bridge, and a death Star style control room. I know this is because of used footage from the OT, but I have this headcanon now that has the bridge be a Death Star control room at the back, and the captain is excitedly running back and forth, gleefully directing his ship to kill the Viscount class. Very silly and undignified, but it is what is in my head ever since I saw the video...

Ever since I first played the Eclipse in Empire at War FoC, I've thought it was one of the coolest ships in all Sci-fi.... That was almost 14 years ago now... And now to see it in action in an awesome space battle is literally a dream come true for me. You have no obligation to expend resources on any project that may yield little to no profit. However one month after first contact with the covenant the UNSC INFINITY and her escort fleet of Autumn class cruisers appear at earth through a wormhole. The ships are fully operational and have manuals detailing how all ship systems, such as shielding and more advanced slipsace, operate and also how to build them for other ships. How does this affect the human covenant war? Does humanity win or lose ?

Make a series out of this! We need to see the awesomeness of this ship even more! Show us how the battle continues. Show us how it effortlessly slaughters the GA fleets!

Let's be honest it was well made but dreadnought class ships would have had hundreds if not thousands of weapons and the crossfire was more indicative of a battle between two frigates. A lot of potential though. Good stuff much like wow

Battle of the Dreadnaughts was amazing and I genuinely love it. I 100% understand your hesitation, though.

VF-1 Valkyrie variable fighter squadron( SDF Macross) vs Viking mech squadron ( Starcraft). LED Mirage Mortar Headd( Five Star Stories) vs Imperium Reaver class Titan ( Warhammer 40K).

I theorize the ghost ship had two escort ships with cloaking technology, using similar strategies to submarines in our world for staying under the radar. I think these two ships would have small yet precise interdictor generators, not useful for taking a large fleet out of hyperspace or keeping a fleet trapped like the interdictors seen in Star Wars Rebels, that would have been able to take a single large ship like the Eclipse 2 out of hyperspace. That would serve to explain how the ship got so close to the New Republic fleet and it would be an interesting piece of technology. The two escorts could have been stalking the New Republic fleet and it’s escorts for some time and finally signaled the ghost ship to jump in and engage. They could also assist the ghost ship in part two, if it’s ever made, by de-cloaking and launching torpedos.

The Eclipse 3, or The Total Eclipse, is a very interesting ship, and I quite like it. Maybe it doesn't have any interdictors because it needs all the space for power generation for the superlazer and heavy turbolazers. It might not even have hangerspace, if you look on the overall ship, I dont see any open hangers. #TotalEclipseSSD

The Eclipse reminds me a little of a Shadow vessel from Babylon 5. Hypers in with precision, wipes everything out, no communications, then leaves.

Seeing as it's Canon (partly) through Star Wars: Commander, is it possible that the Galactic Empire's Project: Blackwing had a secret objective of unlocking immortality (possibly based on one of Plagueis's attempts) and used by Palpatine around the time of the Battle of Endor? Seeing as the original version of the virus in Legends was created by Darth Drear in order to achieve immortality for Sith Lords, something Canon Palpatine was looking for due to believing that the Empire shouldn't out live him. I'm probably thinking about this from randomly becoming interested in the Death Troopers novel recently for some reason. #AskEck

Thanks for breaking it down, answered a lot of my questions as I am still relatively new to the EU. Thank your for doing such an incredible job making it, and I totally understand the logistics, but more episodes wether it be a part two, or an completely different set of dreadnaughts, would be inexplicably amazing, would watch over and over. Yes! I was hopeing for this! This backstory makes the battle even more awsome! Realy cool. Although the tactics here were not super complicated it added alot of depth to the film. I was a little surprised that the turn towards the aft was intended. Thought it was caused by momentum. Also nice that they walked into each others trap haha! In regards to views... i myselfe don't rewatch videos often in a short time, regardless of how good i think it is. Because i can remembr it clearly enough to enjoy it without having to see it. So when i then watch it every week it gets boring and my appreciation for it drops. In short, that means i will watch battle of dreadnaughts many times but just not in short succsession so that i can find a new or redescover an old detail every time i watch it. Thats what i find to be the most fun way to watch a film or series. Maybe others think like me too and thats why the views did not break the roof... That said - after writing this comment i will definitely return to the battle once more ;-) Also i would love to see the battle and the story continue in some way. Doesn't need to be a whole new film if thats understandably to much work right now, especially if it doesn't bring the relults you hoped for. But maybe as an audiolog with some battleplan drawings? Anyways, thanks alot for the breakdown!

There is something very special about being able to do a battle breakdown of a Star Wars battle YOU YOURSELF were involved in making, and managing to do so without just coming off as self-serving or something. Well done! I say we promote you to Emperor, and make Thrawn your right hand man and trusted advisor.

Great background, and excellent job on worldbuilding inside the established lore of the SW Legendsverse. As for the name of this ship and its operations, I reccomend calling it "Palparine's Ghost", with orders to attack suspected "Rebel" holdouts in the Outer Rim, to never surrender, and to never answer to any Imperial authority other than the Emperor himself, not even Vader, Tarkin, nor Thrawn.

A little advice if you're planning on doing a full 10 minute space battle: you're going to need context. This is something that would probably involve hiring actors, which is almost certainly beyond the scope of the project, but it's very important for both sides in the fight to have a sort of "road" to their goal and share that with the audience. The drama then comes from the changes of situation and risk of failing critical points in the strategy: In Battle of the Dreadnaughts, there really is only one situation change to someone who isn't deeply entrenched in Star Wars Lore: when the Viscount's engine was destroyed. I'm just concerned that if you tried to take BoTD and stretch it into 10 minutes then it would just get... stale. Say what you will about George Lucas's writing, but the man knows how to give stakes to a bunch of spaceships zooming around shooting lasers at eachother.

Lastly, while I hope for a Follow up your 100% correct to weigh the $ Risk's. If it had been a full vid, I could c it taking off more but still, thank you & keep it up!
