The Battle of Berlin and downfall of Germany in Call of Duty World at War The mod "Fall of Berlin" is also used which changes a few things to add extra realism and immersion.
I would like to ask if the mod adds something to the pacific front or if it stays the same? and i should point out that you did a great job adding a mongolian soldier skin to the red army.
The Russians at the end of the war weren't just happy because they defeated the Reich, they were literally happy to be alive. This game really demonstrated how much of a hell the Eastern Front was. Some COD games touched on this, but this one demonstrated the absolute brutality of it.
@Sergio Ruiz I don't think D-day could have been successfully mounted without that massive diversion of German troops to the East. It's thanks to the Russians tying down 4 million Germans that we could even land troops in France.
Trivia: during this mission there are actually German Soldiers that are modelled to be smaller than the rest. This was done to simulate the fact that by that time kids were being used as frontline soldiers in an act of desperation by the Nazi regime. Since the developers obviously couldn't model kids in the game and have you kill them they instead settled with a more subtle approach
It is also interesting that in the final days of the third reich many SS Elite troops were holding the reichstag. In this Game it is showed pretty well. You can See Mostly more experienced and also wounded SS troops
@@RadjaneLegenda Yep. However, the actual SS/Waffen SS who participated in the Battle of Berlin/Reichstag should be dressed differently. Also, the fact that there weren't only SS units that defend the building alone as in the original game as well. Luckily, the Fall of Berlin mod that AFGuidesHD also plays in this video could be able to change a lot of things up to become closer to reality ;)
@@fereise208eah it’s awesome. Seeing home guard volunteers, SS soldiers of different divisions/regiments, paratroopers, hitler youth and regular Heer troops is so cool. It really shows the desperation and clutter of the defenders of the reichstag. Not to mention not every soldier is a private now with the same uniform. Pretty sure I saw an SS hauptsturmfuhrer in autumn splinter which adds more character than “generic Wehrmacht soldier with a cap #726227”
Every couple of months I just come back for that brutal speech: ''Citizens of Berlin, a ring of steel surrounds your rotten city. We will crush all who dare to resist the will of the Red Army. Abandon your posts, abandon your homes, abandon all hope!'' Some russian officer is way into 40K style peace negotiations.
@@constructivesuffering Plus the German people had been bombed day and night by the Americans and British for years. Hell, Dresden was burned in February of 1945. What you said in combination with this is why the German soldier fought until the end.
@@froobs2534 That's blatantly untrue. By April of 1945, Army Group B had surrendered, the Fifth Panzer Army had surrendered, hell, the entire Western and Eastern Fronts had collapsed and the Wehrmacht and SS were deserting or surrendering en masse. Those in Berlin knew how things were going to end and they were prepared for it.
I love the part at around 3:05 when you shoot at the enemy by the window and that friendly tank in front of you notices and was like, "oh you got an enemy there comrade? here, let me give you a hand", and blasts the poor bastard off.
41:01 "You can make it my friend, you always survive". Reznov, Berlin 1945 "He should have died in Berlin..." Reznov to Mason in Vorkuta I get emotional everytime I hear it
23:12 and onward, you can see the bodies of German soldiers whose bodies have been hanged on the telephone poles, roof tops and others. In 1944 and 1945 the Nazi's were killing anyone who refused to fight or deserted so thats historically accurate. This game REALLY did its history homework.
@@Ak-6969 not even close. That was an exclusively Eastern Front phenomenon. The Germans were literally surrendering left and right on the Western Front going into spring of 1945.
10:04 I love this part because it shows the darkness of war (even if this speech wasn't real) I mean imagine the horror when you are fighting and the enemy tells you abandon everything even hope
Heart of Reich was the hardest mission I'd ever experienced on veteran. During the charge at the Reichstag, the part where you destroy the first two Flak 88s is where Wehrmacht soldiers spawn continuously and throw many grenades at me until I destroyed the first two Flak 88s before the checkpoint.
@@circleancopan7748 when you play it you know its not that simple, they literally have infinite amount of grenade, infinite spawn unit,100% accuracy and others, completing veteran in this mission is one of the hardest thing to do
It's odd because on the PS3 the journal entry was different. "When Reznov first spoke of Dimitri, he told tales of a hero; one we should all aspire to be like. At times, I have seen him show mercy. At times, he's shown complete brutality. I do not understand him... perhaps heroes need not question their actions." My guess is the dialog is different depending on your difficulty setting. I only played easy if I were going for the ps3 trophies
@@ChristianRodriguez-cg9qwDialogue will vary based on actions you did through campaign, whether you were merciful towards wounded and surrendering enemies. Like in that mission where you can burn those soldiers alive or kill them with machine gun,or that time they free you from that house and those stay on the floor knocked off from explosion, you can either kill then or spare them.
Hi can you tell me how can i play the Berlin Battle? Beacuse i have PS2(a PS4 too)but i have call of duty world at war final fronts and not call of duty world at war so if you can tell me how to do I will thank you
@@user-bv7zo6vd4mwell, they could stock piles of grenades on their defense positions, it's realistic, always was the case in defence. Even in today Ukraine's trench warfare, soldiers dig a lot of holes in their trenches and fill them with grenades, ammo, noobtube grenades, medical stuff, etc.
@@duckboiii4441 Not necessary but it would show how desperate the Germans became. Would have been very dark too if the models were either really young or really old men.
Listening to the mission briefings, Reznov begins to sound more and more bloodthirsty, having no remorse for his enemies, or even his fallen comrades. Even if your side is justified, war turns people into monsters.
Chernov will often complain about his comrades becoming more and more bloodthirsty and if you show mercy to your enemies he will praise you and say you are a hero.
Also in the mission Eviction just before you go down to the metro station, you can choose between shooting the enemy soldiers or burning them, and Reznov says two different lines depending on your choice.
@@Toxicrabbit141 sorry for my bad grammar. i was saying i think about this mission as a remake/tribute to the end of first cod game Berlin fight. but without that emotional cutscene of "i shaked hands with an english person. i couldnt understand what he said. but i think of him as a brother. and i think he felt the same"
I remember playing and dying so many times on Veteran that I know exactly how many and where would the enemies pop up. And yes, the endless wave of grenades.
This is an older COD but it's my favorite. It won best game of the year and not ashamed to say i'm an expert at it as I've played it hundreds of times. I think the hardest missions are Wana Ridge and taking the Reichstag
The brutality of seeing limbs come off from mg42 shots and grenades especially the legs is as close to real life as any war game as ever gotten imo truly a great game that showed how horrible war really is for the those who died and for those who lived seeing these horrible things probly in their mind for the rest of their lives
Commissar: These animals murdered and raped their way through the motherland without mercy! They deserve none in return! Volkssturm: I don't even know who you are.
And ironically, the Soviets raped their way through Eastern Prussia without mercy, too, making them little better than the scum they thought to be morally superior to.
First bought this game and played this mission when I was 13, now I'm 25 and feel really old and nostalgic when watching this video. I tried installing this game but my CD is busted 😭
I love World At War but I do not want a remaster. They'll just end up censoring all the imagery and will end up killing the whole vibe of the story. World at War is replayable enough.
Just noticed the bolt on the mosin is incorrect. On the standard mosin the boot handle sticks straight out on the side. The curved bolt he’s using goes on the sniper mosin the sniper mosin needs the curved bolt handle so when chambering a round doesn’t hit the scope. Head cannon he took the bolt from the sniper rifle at the beginning of the story and just was using it in his standard rifle instead of the stock bolt as a memento. Actual reason they didn’t wanna code 2 different bolt actions that barely anyone would notice.
Military political workers and commissars were mostly university educated specialists, since they had to keep and boost morale of common soldiery with their flame speeches, they were basically chaplains of socialist armies. Modern Russian army still have them, under other names. But unlike USSR, there are all also military chaplains now, priests, imams and lamas for Christian, Muslim and Buddhist soldiers respectively
Imagine playing a game that depicts the battle of Berlin that's more brutal than war at war You're fighting brave adults german soldiers on the outskirts of Berlin but as you progress you start to see the defender lose their cool and panicking Then you start women and children screaming and later you see younger and less agile soldiers defending each defenses lines Eventually when the battle is over the camera look over the burning city and seeing atrocities committed all around
The last CoD which made killing nazis a pleasure... Sorry WWII you're not on par with WaW! "If they stand for Germany, they die for Germany! Building by building! Room by room! One rat at a time..."
Berlin's Defences: 45,000 Wehrmacht Soldiers 40,000 Civilian Soldiers 2.5 MILLION SOVIET SOLDIERS My mouth dropped when I saw the numbers for the first time.
@@samhongyoung7939 Ok to be completely accurate it was probably more like 1m vs 100k or something. Point is the figures in this video aren't accurate either.
@@samhongyoung7939I don't think so, soviet has infinite supply of manpower and factory. Germany is a small country and smaller economy compared to Soviet Union. So Germany at some point will run out of manpower, ammunition and most importantly oil. Both Germany and Japan were small country tht fought with 3 big empires.
Yeah, it's one of the special features inside the Fall of Berlin mod, to represent the captured weapons that occasionally used by Soviet troops. But it should appear in a few amounts though (the same goes to MP40).
@@fereise208 if there’s a German campaign mod it would fit nicely and very accurate considering that some German soldiers actually ditched their MP-40s over PPsh-41s.
@@heroicsplendid I agree, hope the Axis mod creators will add them in their future updates. Also, I'd like to add that some of the German soldiers in this Fall of Berlin mod will use captured Soviet weapons too, PPsh-41 included ;)
The epilogue following Dmitri’s planting of the Victory Flag demonstrates just how beastly victory can be! Then again, Victory NEVER comes w/o its price; it’s those who come after who ultimately pay that price.
Well maybe because that country was also evil. Killed tens of millions of people for no reason. Arguably worse than the Nazis. Also, you think everyone in 1945 was proud of them? Everyone had just laid eyes on why not the trust the communists who just "Liberated" Eastern Europe and betrayed agreements held at the Yalta conference.
I just want to point out some details in regular game, notice in World at War, before the end of Heart of Reich, all German soldiers had their sleeves rolled up which I feel it's a little bit inconsistent to always seeing rolled up sleeved German soldiers. I imagine, when there's remastered, most German soldiers have their sleeves rolled down.
The next piece, set in World War II, is responsible for the Allied forces' entry from 1939 to the Battle of Pearl Harbor. Stalingrad 42-43.Battle of Midway.Allied Forces Strikes Back at Guadalcanal-Kursk From 44 to 45 Normandy to the Allied forces winning the Berlin Battle, the World War II project will likely surpass the 2008 World At War II.
When I was doing the second last mission where are you were supposed to invade the rieckstag I loved it so much I played it over and over and over again.
Fun fact: in a previous mission you have the option to shoot Germans who surrender or burn them...if you burn them you get the line the opens the finale mission
one issue I had with this game growing up is how I felt kinda forced to use the German/Japanese weapons, don't get me wrong I LOVED the German weapons (hated the Japanese weapons) but like.. sometimes I wanted to stick with the M1 Garand or the Tomson-like machine gun the Russians had.. was rather annoying how quick you ran out of ammo unless you sat behind an ally to steal their gun.
The damn fog out of smoke and debris, the destroyed buildings, the constant sound of gunshots everywhere, and maybe even the screams of the soldiers here (the molotov fire screams tho) make this mission such an HORROR
@@Sgt.Peanut16 The first one is "Russian Theme by Sean Murray" and the second one is my favorite music "Heart Of The Reich" i call it "Nazi Theme" because this play at the middle of battle lot of Nazi
@@u.npeacekeeperball432 toxicity??? Dude i only meant if you're still playing video games you're still a kid at heart...so sorry your feelings get hurt so easily...wow!! My daughter has thicker skin than you.

Hey everyone, great video and love the mods. Quick question, Everything seems to work just fine after installing (guns, skins, etc.) but is it normal that enemies now REARLY lose limbs etc? With certain weapons (Grenades, Panzerschreck, FG42, etc.) they now still most of the time make the death animations (holding their arms, etc.) but rearly lose any limbs. Is this intentional or am I missing something? Best regards and have fun!
I'm sorry to say the 'gibbing' system are mostly removed as to make a room for model variations for historical accuracy purposes, which is absolutely necessary. Mainly due to a limitation and complication with the game's systems and codes.
