Bad Ending: You serve your country and your leader treats you like his son Good Ending: You betrayed your country and you get a shot by the man you worked with him *SO AMERICAN*
Despite the unrealistic plot, this phrase totally applies to real life Perseus. It wasn't an individual. It wasn't even an agent or a spy. It was possibly a codename to any source inside Manhattan program that was willing to share the info with Soviets. And there were a lot of scientists with real concerns of USA starting a nuclear war with China or USSR
it's shaped charge regular high explosive anti tank variant not the anti personnel, so chances are the explosion goes straight into the asphalt, though you would most likely die and with it all of adler's team, yes i practically just making excuses for a video game cutscene idk why
The false USSR Perseus who killed Victor Reznov, who killed millions of soviet people and free people around the world for the sake of power, who brainwashed Mason to kill Kennedy and thousands like “Bell” long before Adler, is the one who is holding you hostage.
Perseus was so good to Bell. He himself came to ambush the CIA and was trusting Bell. He even knew that Bell was brainwashed and said: "I'm sure you remember my face". He was proud of Bell and he could easly kill him for working with CIA but instead he praised him. I love this ending. Adler and his team were fake and didn't care about Bell at all. He was a perfect spy and made the job done. In the other ending instead of killing Bell, Adler should've offer him to stay in CIA as agent.
@@thedellymedic2904 Brainwashing is a real thing not just conducted by the CIA, but by several other government agencies around the world such as PROC and RF, In this case brainwashing an individual for a specific informative purpose is called a Psychological Operation (PSYOP) It's both, a fictional narrative and a look into how the agency actually conducts operations. I know because I have relatives that retired as federal agents.
In the words of a RU-vidr who I forgot the name of, bell had Adlers memory implanted in him, it is possible Adler had some dark stuff in his memory he didn’t want anyone knowing. So to eliminate the risk, he killed the only person other than him who knew it. Bell.
@@thedellymedic2904 just like the KGB, the CIA is known for betrayals and not supporting "allies" when they needed them. They're not known for that and are of the "as long as you're useful to me" kind of breed of a-holes.
"The rotten cancer of the Fascist Reich ravages Europe like a plague. Their relentless drive into our motherland steals the lives of men, women, and children alike. The arrogance of their leaders is matched only by the brutality of their soldiers. These are the darkest days of the Nazi occupation of Stalingrad." -- Me
It would be the same as instigating an actual nuclear war, if not worse because it defeats the point of nuclear arms acting as a deterrent to keep major nations from waging large scale warfare. With the west's nuclear stockpile mostly blown up in their backyard it would leave the soviets as the uncontested controllers of Europe (much of it now useless wasteland but hey, still a W Right?) The west would likely respond with longer range attacks on the USSR and a smaller exchange would go underway. Leaving the soviets with more munitions to aim at America now that Europe is no longer a target. All in all it's still probably leaving the world in a state of Armageddon but with a small chance that the soviets could continue their government and possibly assimilate any survivors into their workforce to rebuild society with no one left on the outside to contest or disagree with their methods or ideology.
Just imagine you signal the ambush and a single 67 year old man comes out from the bushes and hits the group with a RPG then runs over to you, hands you an assault rifle, then you and this random 67 year old Soviet man take out an entire highly trained CIA death squad, also imagine his voice lines are "You always survive", "Once again we cheat death", "The honor is ours", or "As long as we live, the heart of Russia shall never be broken". Then we find out it's Victor Reznov and the entire COD community collectively celebrates.
@@duncanharrell5009 Okay but, where is Reznov's body? Usually in COD when someone doesn't show the body when they are dead it means they're still alive.
yeah but with the comunist side so atleast they show that comunism is bad but i think the part with nukes its a litle bit exagerated i mean wasnt the U.S the first ones to nuke other country? if you choose U.S ending you end like tipical american movies a heroe that saved the world.
Even though this is the bad ending it's so much more fun then the good one 1 you get to go to a genuinely cool location with real history 2 you get an actual fun and unique fight 3 its just cool The good ending is just your average "Big action climax and explosions"
And you are welcomed back by your boss who acts almost like a proud and loving father, as opposed to being betrayed and murdered by Adler in the "good ending".
Agreed to me the evil ending is the true ending. The way perseus just hands you an ak47 is like him saying welcome back home brother/son glory to mother Russia.
I like to imagine this little scene when Persius learned that Bell is back for good: Soldier: Comrade Persius, sir, we have recieved the message about the American team. According to the information, they will be deploying in Ukraine, near DUGA Radar Towers. Persius: DUGA, you say? Where did it come from, comrade? Soldier: West Germany, comrade Persius. The code phrase was authentic: "Stalin's blood," sir. Shall we inform the Army? Persius: No, prepare my personal Spetsnaz and my plane. I'll personally see to it and make sure our good comrade Stalin is back for good. Soldier: Um, but what about the plan, comrade? Persius: Stand by on it. The Soviet Union does not abandon it's comrades, and neither does Persius abandon one of its own.
Pro american ending: "You've made your last delivery, kid. I'm sorry you got twisted up in this scene. From where you're kneeling it must seem like an 18-carat run of bad luck. Truth is, the game was rigged from the start." Pro soviet ending: "Change da world. My final message. Goodb ye"
The KGB’s most ruthless leader stabs a defector in the eye while a CIA sheep just kills him Edit: I’m not talking about Weaver but Dr Peck kinda disappointed that Weaver wasn’t executed must’ve been hard to kill your own comrade
honestly coming back to this video, the soviet theme during the initial ambush adds so much to this ending, it really should've been in the actual game. Really just go full circle from WaW
I doubt Activision would ever do this (although who knows Microsoft now owns them) but I kind of wish they would make a whole new series of call of duty games that is set in the timeline of this ending.
@@Lynnh-sempai also because it's not the same army without dimitry petreko . " as long as you live , the heart of this army would never be broken" then petreko die , betraye by his army .
@@Revolutionary_Fish US troops wouldn’t use an AK in Vietnam. The AK has a very distinct sound so if a US soldier shot one other soldiers nearby would think he’s an enemy. They didn’t switch weapons because it’s “cool and great”.
Nah it was cheeky when tvs would turn on to Vietnam clips i knew something was up didn't like it then remembered hudson bo1 and said fuck adler as soon i put the pieces together then when i played that part and heard don't trust adler and keep disobeying and got the achievement i didn't know was there lol this twist is what made this campaign my top 5
@@gangweedpilled4977 Yea but as the guy known as “Perseus” in the video said, Perseus isn’t him or another singular person, it is the collective communist mind comrade. Слава Советскому Союзу.
Idk why Don't put the anthem in any Game that has The USSR. Like metal Gear solid V. Or Cold war. Maybe Copyright of Russia? It can't be used unless its accepted by putin and they won't specifically ask the russian president for it ? Lol this just a prediction
This could easily be Canon in the Cod Ghost Universe and Explain why America is a Wasteland. If they make a Ghost 2 they can use This Version of Bell as a Antagonist
Adler: Thanks Bell for saving the world and then kills them to cover his own ass. Perseus: Finds out his former right hand/friend is still alive and loyal. Rushes to the middle of nowhere at the head of an army to save them.
Its honestly admirable that Perseus receives a call from his right hand man who he thought dead and immediately runs all the way to Ukraine with a battallion to help him
Plus, the good ending is so abrupt and doesn't make sense. Adler even SAYS you made 2 sacrifices, like, what the hell Adler, we literally just took out the soviet union and I was the one that stopped the nukes not you like b r u h.
This is considered the Bad Ending but in theory Bell has always been with the Red team, he was just Brainwashed by the CIA so the Bad Ending (for us) is actually the Good Ending for him, also because he doesn't get shot at the end with no reason.
He explains it though he thought they were stupid for even believing Perseus was just one person if he revealed himself Adler would have died seeing “Perseus”
The fact that this ending let's you listen to the old Russian music from World At War shows that this is the best ending. I never played the game, but for some reason, this "bad" ending seems pretty good to me.
@@enternamehere4124 Look, if a video game let's me blow up a portion (or even the entirety) of the world, well, let's just say I'm creating another Big Bang
You know something's wrong when the bad ending is more satisfying than the good ending. Edit: You can witness World War 3 as it's happening in the reply section.
@@chonkyboi4558 Well, in real life everybody is part of the same evil corp. There's no real left/right or East/West in today's world. It's just a big puppet show to keep people busy.
@@ShFred there is no evil Corp buddy, it's the sheer number of different ideologies. That keep everyone of us divided. And the trick is people have become more easy going surfacial and ignorant. They only want comfort and run after money.. not after ambitions or purposes. It's about something more personal than country wise. In my eyes USSR had the potential to become a safe heaven for people who had a drive and ambitions. But even there the corrupt politics... too much power fucked up everything.

Fun fact, there is a campaign challenge where you have to kill the marked enemies by melee takedown only. The challenge is called anti hero. And you will see that every marked ones will be taken down in a special way that you ever seen on normal enemies.
