My opponent monster reborned my stardust and flipped it to me and I only had a level 1 on field. Well I drew Turbo Synchron. Went into formula and activated Synchro Material and used his stardust to make Shooting Star Dragon.
What you may have missed is after MBT said this format sucks, or anything negative about the format, they had to pause stream for 1 hour while Cimooo mourned and then consoled his physical copy of Kalut.
Seeing so much negativity over "this isn't Edison format" Yeah that's because it's Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2011: Over the Nexus format I thought we loved this game?
I love how early the OCG had the generic HERO fusions printed, except for Escuridao. Guess it was too good of a Super Poly target considering how good Darks had been by that point in the game.
And to think, the entire 2010 Blackwing core is all in the modern BW structure for 1500 Gems. Sole reason why they'd get $0 from trying to promote 2010 as an alt ladder, in addition to a wide variety of staples being N/R/SR, not UR.
They'd also get an influx of new players from having a fun game mode, not only making the game more popular, bht also the new players could give modern cards a shot and spend $$$
@@steelblakeI gotcha. Terraforming and Instant Fusion were hit one month after Tear was introduced, as a way to hit the deck without hitting any Tear cards being sold in the shop via Selection Pack at the time. One month after that, they hit the 4 Ishizu retrains from 2/2/2/3 to 2/1/1/1 as their promotion ending grace period expired, then 1/0/1/1, then both millers banned outright. Lastly, somewhere in there was also the banning of Merrli after it's Selection grace period had expired, much to the hatred of TCG andies wanting that ban to be Elf so they'd get 90 UR dust back from something they were hoping would be gone, though the Merrli ban did exactly that and without refunding valuable dust.
16:51 - If he thinks that *NOW,* just wait until he finds out that Messenger of Peace, Terraforming + Clock Tower Prison + Field Barrier, Kaiser Colosseum, and Jowgen the Spiritualist are all at 3, alongside Gravity Bind, Level Limit B, Marshmallon, Spirit Reaper, Grand Mole, etc. which are also legal in a format with no Heavy Storm, Heavy Storm Duster, Twin Twisters, Harpie's Feather Duster, or even 3 MST. I swear, someone at Konami is fighting tooth an nail to keep Floodgates in Master Duel, while simultaneously making the retro formats as unplayable as possible by making as many broken Floodgates and swing Spell/Traps legal as possible so that people think the current metagame is balanced.
Giant Trunade is legal, so that's at least something. Though, Six Sams would probably be the best deck in this format (just like it would have been at release of Storm of Ragnarok in OCG). So, between Six Sams eating a lot of spell / trap decks, the generic backrow outs like Black Rose, and the fact that floodgates are a lot less awful when most decks have a passable normal summon, I don't think the floodgate meta would be nearly as powerful as it can be today.
@@xdevo14 Pretty much any time I went first and got to set up at least one of the floodgates (namely Kaiser) it completely wrecked the game. Though, for the record, I only did so because I was pissed that one of my favorite Synchros (Dark Diviner) wasn't legal because Konami set the date exactly one week before it was released. Also, I stopped as soon as I got the pack because I still felt dirty playing them.
@@TheTaintedWisdom as the one other fellow dark diviner fan, did u also happened to run dark bug + junk synchron/gale back in the day? that package went hard in my ds playing days
@@RedWeeb4926 It was in 5Ds and/or Millenium Duels for me but yeah. That + Pinpoint Guard for constant recursion, Wind-Up Honeybee as a floater and lv1 insect, Underworld Fighter Balmung to instantly revive in case of Mirror Force, Dark Resonator as another Dark lv3 Tuner, and Howling Insect for more floating, and to make Underground Arachnid as another unique Synchro with the same tuners.
@@TheTaintedWisdom my dawg! I forgot how I was making Arachnid back and I thought flying kamakiri can't be right then you mentioned howling insect I think that was the floater I was using back then too. I think I also jammed in cydra or vice dragon in my "dark synchro" deck for lvl8 and Trish play when I got lucky! Those were the good days when I didn't have good internet and relied on my brain to build decks. This dark bug deck and birdman mist valley watcher into arcanite magician was some of my proudest child creation in the games! Cool to see another duelist had the same jank during the darker ages😆
Fun fact! I discovered theres a secret lifelong mission for summoning gemini monsters on your field. Specifically extra normal summoning gemini monsters to gain their effects, not just any kind of summon...so ive been playing some janky ass gemini in the only format that could even allow it to hold up, halfway to the 100 summons now
During this time, there were plenty of Heavy Storm replacements, but most of them required a certain monster (RDA) or certain conditions (an equip spell etc.), which means that, if your opponent has an interruption card, your Heavy Storm At Home won't matter anyway, because your RDA or equip spell won't be hitting the board or resolving anyway :D
Nah. It’s just if you want to enter a dual room to play your friends, you can’t enforce the event rules for this event. So they don’t get turn 1 draw or extra monster zones blocked.
I love this event to death. It's so nice to get to play kooky shit and still have a half a chance of winning. I played a deck specifically designed around Aitsu, Koitsu, Soitsu and Doitsu with Tethys to draw a billion cards and managed to get a win with it lol
It was ironic that I decided to build modern Fabled. This event rolls around, turns out most of the Fabled cards were legal. Didn't want to spend too many dusts/gems, so I made a jank old version that could randomly go full Ham on people.
I was so excited about this event and then I played against 5 stall burn decks out of my 6 games and changed my mind. Somehow stall is better in this even than the goat event
@@hankhill6404 did meet a stun player actually for my very first game and it was fucking hilarious they just played a bunch of monsters with high defense and cards to make me take more damage when i inevitably walked into them. VERY funny. they still lost because, lmao, i don't need to summon if they physically can't attack.
Honestly the lack of Heavy Storm is a good thing. Makes it so that backrow reliant decks can actually play. Also we got Trunade which is good if not better in certain situations.
Holy sht old yugioh was so ass. Peak yugioh is set 4 attack pass? How is that exciting? I remember playing edison and it just got so fcking boring because it's essentially the "whoever draws the most traps win" format. Heavy storm clears? That's literally saying graceful charity is okay at 4 because you just ash it.
