I love dedicated Hardcore medic players like one time when 6 of us are holding a point he just in the back crouch down and reciting don quixote quotes and when one of us got downed he stops and just repeat the words “Tis but a mortal scratch thy soul must stay firm and now relax your anus” and were back in action

Another thing in relation to reload - your reload state is remembered. Example, you begin reloading as someone hits you then you start patching up your bleed. You put your mag in your pockets then heal? Going back to that weapon continues the reload from that state and equips the new mag. Emptied your mag, quick reloaded, put mag in then bandage? Again going back to that gun will force you to load a bullet in the chamber before being able to shoot.

The developers deserve all the success they got and i hope the game improves more and more in the future

My favorite part with the voice chat is the absolute shenanigans you can have. Few things funnier than 2 whole squads going full monke while rushing an enemy held zone.

I love how this incorporates mechanics usually only found in more hardcore games. It's further proof that you don't need to dumb down games to have casual appeal.

As someone who grew up with all terrible computers, I love the devs idea to make something like this that will play on a range of PCs. Makes me happy lol

The Sniping in Battlebit is incredible. It feels so much more immersive, especially with the distance to can snipe at. The Dev's even stating you can snipe up to around 2600 meters. The sheer satisfaction for hit multiple 800m kills on a group of enemy snipers sitting on a hill across the map... nothing beats that

The gunplay of this game is so good that Jonathan Ferguson, firearms expert from the British royale armory museum himself, tells that it is good. Just the releasing of the empty shells alone is more realistic than a lot of shooter

I personally love the silence when you're alone. It builds so much tension that breaks wonderfully when a sniper shot lands half an inch from my temple.

Love seeing Bricky come across this gem in an era of half-baked games and cash grabs. A tip to deal with scoreboard lag. In your gameplay settings you can set scoreboard to sort by squad, which significantly cuts down on the lag you get opening it

WHY does block game have this? Because block game was clearly made first and foremost, unlike certain other games nowadays, with the gameplay in mind clearly. At least with the player experience at heart. How it FEELS to play this game. Gud shit.

It is baffling to me how small teams of indie developers keep dishing out excellent games. The gaming industry and the people need to keep the indie scene alive.

this game is so good the only "controversy" I think it could ever have is that they secretly had 6 people making it instead of 3

7 years of development and this game starting as a milsim explains all the attention to details. It is still really impressive for such a small team. It is worth knowing that bigger teams don't scale linearly, and as they grow can actually slow down production. You end up with devs having more meetings than actually making things, having to get new features and code approved, etc. Small teams can move faster in a lot of ways... But yes, it did also take them 7 years and they could probably use 1 or 2 more people.

Bricky you should check out Jonathan Fergusson, the keeper of arms and artillery at the Royal Armoury Museum. He did a reaction and analysis of Battlebit weapons, if you want to know more from an actual expert in firearms. Also, the devs reacted to him reacting to Battlebit. All is worth a watch!

Its interesting you commented that the gunplay was worked on first. The devs actually had to rework a lot of the gunplay and pacing of this game in its earlier iterations because it had a lot of its roots in milsim games. It used to play a lot more like Squad than Battlefield.

On the menu problems, I think they are trying to avoid having 70 different tabs for customization and just consolidating it all into one or two menus instead. Probably a better way to do it but the current iteration is “usable” in comparison to its competitors

battle bit is a great game but slightly bad news in terms of their budget. although they did sell a gazillion copies and did like 20 million in sales, steam doesn't pay them until september, and since so many people are playing, server costs are high, so they needed to take out a loan from an international bank because no bank in the US would loan them the amount of money they needed at a reasonable interest rate.

My first FPS games were medal of honor allied assault and Call of Duty 1. Seeing the lack of innovation in FPS games hit a peak in the early 2000s and decline from there. This game has been thoroughly enjoyable for the couple weeks I've been playing it, its affordable, and its accessible to people because of the price point and the ease with which it can run on most PCs. The voice chat makes it fun and engaging and its a fun play.

i was acquainted with mr. Oki for a short time during the beta tests, absolutely phenomenal crew. Hilariously enough two Norweigans [or swedish I forgot lmao] and a cracked out of his mind French guy making maps. Oki showed me a bit of blender and modelling, which led to me starting my degree in game design this September. Will never forget how hard they worked on this game .

The ability to take half mags and fill them are amazing.

Battlebit remastered is probably the best FPS on the market! And well, this isn't such a difficult title to grab anyway, at least for non-tactical shooters.

Battlebit Remastered is what EVERYONE remembers BF3 and 4 like. But extended.

BFBC:2 was GOATed. So many great memories. Battlebit has also rekindled the same feeling for me.

This game just shows how much the gaming community misses a good Battlefield game. There hasn't been a good one since BF1 and there hasn't been a great one since 4 got fixed. This just makes me miss the days of gaming from 2007 - around 2012.

This game is great, I’m terrible at it and I still have a good time when I play. Because the classes work well I can just run around playing medic and hanging out with friends.

I would love a sci-fi style single player game by these guys.

Funnily enough I find the very square bodies very satisfying to get headshots on, usually I’m not a good enough gamer to hit them. Another thing about the network code is that I load into a Japanese server with three different continents and we all have a good game despite being literally all over the world.

I found this ammo showcase to be great. The fact that I am not seeing my ammo in raw numbers made me somehow more mindful about spending my bullets and when I reload. I sometimes wonder if a healthbar would be useful though. People act really haphazardly because they cannot see how low their HP is!

Bricky, you put into words how I've been feeling about this game. I couldnt quite put my finger on why I enjoyed it so much.

Battlebit has some of the least recoil out of any game I have ever played and you making a big deal out of acting like it has a lot kind of makes me disregard everything else you say lmao. Gun customisation is just as awful as the balancing in general most attachments are absolutely worthless and take 3 years to unlock its insanely inconsistent im 100% convinced they just rolled random numbers for every attachment. The audio is just straight garbage a tank can sneak up on you and you cant hear peoples footsteps until they are like 3m close I have no idea how you can praise that aspect in particular. This games boot is so far down your throat the ball hairs are tickling your nose bro.

Garden Warfare 1 has a similar heal and revive system and I always preferred it over the Garden Warfare 2 system, even if it's still fine (and I like GW2 more than GW by a bit), so I love that this game has it too. We used to play a TON of BF:1942, and I enjoyed the classes. I'm old enough to remember when our favorite 4 player game was Warlords on the Atari 2600! XD This looks great, and I don't mind this style of graphics at all.

Let's go this game getting more attention. This game is amazing. Played since early access and never regretted it

you can fix the scoreboard lag by setting to show squads instead and then you can click on a squad to show the players

Honestly. "cook after numbers" companys like hello fresh and stuff are cool. But really not good to rely on for you normal dinner. What they are excelent for though are two things, one getting new ideas for what the hell you should cook. And two, wich is much more impotant, it helps people to learn how to cook. Its basicly a cooking course that disguses itself as food delivery service. And im all for that. People get so itimidated by cooking. To learn how to do it. Even though cooking is incredibly easy, most of my firends even dont know how to do it. And tricking someone into thinking they are "basicly getting take out and just need to heat it" is a very funny way to convice people to cook.

I love how the enormous studios nowadays are making hot garbage, and then a random team or even a singular indie dev shows up out of nowhere, no history, no publicity, they make a better game in shorter time, sell it cheaper, and appeal to the community better. Like it's three people with at best questionable prior experience, and they make better gameplay than a studio with fifty game designers, that runs smoother than the one from a studio with 2000 top quality programmers, and those three random devs understand their community better than the studio with a dedicated PR team. There's no fucking excuse for them big studios, none, nada. And sure, many of these indie games might not be the prettiest, but every now and then one of those random devs turns out to be a visual design prodigy and creates better looking, more realistic graphics than the studio with a 100 dedicated graphic designers. I'm telling you, there's no excuse. And these keep popping up more and more often as time goes on. At this pace there soon simply won't be big studios because teams of a couple silly little guys on crack in their mums' basements keep consistently doing a better job than massive studios of thousands of people with millions in budget.

never have i ever regretted being part of the server tests up until now where theyve released it....the game is definitely worth every dollar(i guess phpeso in my case) that its pricetag says and i have been thoroughly enjoying every minute of gameplay...a refreshing actually functional early access game

I don't think we should underestimate how helpful it is for you to be able to visualize the hit boxes exactly due to well... everyone being a box.

I think the sea of blue ally markers are suppose to fix a problem with areas of activity. Had that problem with a lot of BF games where I don't know where the most action is or where everyone is attacking. Just a squad leader telling us to go to B even though A is where everyone is paying attention to. Think it could be fixed with a marker on the map that indicates areas of activity rather than flooding your view.

One of the funniest parts is that a lot of people from the planetside community have moved over to battle bit. One of the most hardcore and stubborn FPS communities out there is playing funny block game.

That ammo check thing is what I love about games like Rising storm 2 and Ready or Not. It breaks the habit of instantly reloading after a kill

Back in school I had a rotation of 4 games and never got bored, now I have too many and they all annoy me. Xdefiant and battlebit seemed to be a return to something familiar

I want to play the game solely for epic sniper battles you can have... Completely ignoring the easy point kills and just going for the 1700m snipers are the best feeling i have in the game

This is what happens when a game is made by devs who actually play games and the genre of games they are making. I love how a game that looks like this handles the insanity of charging a place with a squad and seeing/hearing a barrage of bullets around you. I love having c4 with me in game because why waste the time finding a door when I can just make them. Or just removing the wall the enemy was hiding behind forcing them to fall back to another room.

I’m willing to go out on a limb here and say Battlebit is the best shooter we’ve experienced this year. So far at least.

Literally the most fun I’ve had in years, basically since high school when me and the boys would play split screen. This game is affordable and can basically be played on anything. I’ll recommend it 100 times over to anyone

I'm glad that people love this game and that the devs are doing well... but... I've never bounced off an FPS game so quickly before. Weirdly enough it was the act of using the guns in this game that just felt really bad to me. The damage feels so limp for how much recoil there is, it got incredibly frustrating the 10th time i dumped half of an M4 mag into someones chest only for them to more or less walk it off.

My favorite encounter in this game i had, was back in the playtests. I was using a T-90, and all of a sudden someone got into my tank. I didn't even realize this at first, since i was engaging snipers who were harrasing the infantry around me, and all of a sudden i started hearing carameldansen blasted through the microphone of the person who got in. and oh boy the song didnt stop even after the tank blew up.

My issue is mostly how many levels there are, when you're starting out, and you see p90 is unlocked at level ONE HUNDRED AND NINTY you realize you're there for the long haul, also the recoil is... a lot starting out. M4 and AK both kick like a mule until you get attachments, attachments everyone else you're playing with already has. So it takes forever to get the ball rolling and feel like you can keep up

Bricky, the mechanics of the dragging and reviving is specifically from Squad, a military sim shooter, check it out, its the most causal friendly Mil Sim ive seen and played

I always love that this game, even if unbalanced, makes you feel like it isnt. I dont complain about balance, i complain about dying in the first place from someone half the map away. Its a fun game.

Hey, Bricky, ever played Squad? Lots of the features in this game came from Squad. I will admit I love Battle Bit and Squad. I'm curious if you tried Squad or are willing to try it. It is more Milsim and made by folks that were inspired by Project Reality mod for BF3

i wish you criticized the lack of a proper tutorial. So many new players don’t get whats the button to heal, tank respawns, RTB’ing, Gadget usage, Putting down a rally, barricades, Eetc. The game does has quite a bit a depth and I wish the devs would make a training course because some people just dont know. Lack of knowledge leads to player frustration. UI complaints from you feels like a nitpick and something you had to larp on. UI works and its completely fine, I don’t need hyper gamer feedback from selecting my guns, but I do wish Loadouts were in the game.

Things I heard (Plis correct me if I am wrong) Steam has not paid the Devs though it is expected they will get it by September. They made 8 Million plus in steam sales. They are planning to implement FaceIt, a Kernel level anti-cheat that (allegedly) runs so long as your PC is on and can even take screenshots of your desktop. Currently the game runs on the free version of Easy AntiCheat which is more of a suggestion and the 40 Mods do manually review and ban players flagged. Things I have Experienced There are connection issues with certain ISPs and your ping can go from 86ms in the morning and 1,896ms in the evening. There is a temporary fix available, something like a net warp thing I forgor its on the pinned steam discussions. There are a LOT of sus players in game, I had the honor of seeing one of the (allegedly) 40 mods wipe 40% of all players of the server in a massive ban wave. Literally Thanos snapped mfs into server ban. And THATS when there is a mod, when there isn't, expect to get sniped across the map on the snowy island. The game is still good, especially when people use their mic. Helicopter pilots blasting Ride of the Valkyries as you either head for a crash or capture the enemy flank point. Vector tryhards cursing in different languages when they step on a mine or get countered with RPG. Snipers begging the deaf snipers next to them for a revive. Its so much fun and its like the good old times.

I wouldn't have looked twice at this game if it weren't for this review. "blocky fps on early access? blegh". So much so that I just went to wishlist it and apparently I had set it to _Ignore_ lol I was never good at FPSs but I did have a phase where I enjoyed them, and damn this looks enjoyable. Well for me the map design is like - I wanna be milsim, but gameplaywise Im arcade... the maps are as in new BF just stupid, lacking any flow or balance, beside a few. Also for me feeling responsivness of the server is important, desync is still there, not that prominent, but it is there and Im one of the few probably who actually gets affected by it cuz I can sense the bullshit when it happens to me so .. sigh but for 15 euros still great for it is. I dont feel dissapointed the same way I do with BF 2042 :')

IMAGINE releasing a game in 2023 with scoreboard.... Take notes Dice, you couldn't do it with 2042 but blocky man shooter did it. Congratulations Dice, 3 people did a better job than a full team of 200...

Oh! I will list one complaint I have with BattleBit Remastered. At the moment, you can't have the same Battlefield highjinx you used to have. Placing egregious amounts of C4 on your own vehicle in order to launch it into space just doesn't work. Hopefully that changes.

By far the only real critique of the game to be had is locking weapon attachments behind kills. On paper it rewards people who use their chosen gun, but in practice it just makes it artificially difficult to do anything. I'd love to snipe people with this new gun I got, but uh-oh! You don't have the rangefinder unlocked for your chosen gun, which makes you drastically less effective as a sniper. Or how about magnified sights, which are borderline required for certain situations. It also doesn't make sense to reward good players with tools to make the game easier, when they've already proven they don't need those tools. It'd be much better if attachments weren't tied to progression at all, and prestige awarded more difficult and niche weapons.

Easily the most fun I've had in a multiplayer game since the golden age of tf2

BattleBit reminds me of bf2 as in way outdated gfx but superior social squad/gun gameplay on a massive scale. Mean while Dice has been trying its best to cater to players who want to solo bf with next to zero interaction with team mates.

Why does block game has this is such a great statement. It shows how the larger corporations type games are so out of touch, shows how 3 passionate people can make a 100000x better game with just that passion alone, over greed and profits only.

Hey Bricky, I know it's not really relevant, but have you seen the Warhammer Astartes animation? It's a 10 / 10 animation and would really recommend it to everyone.

Had not seen so much weapon customization ever since Ghost Recon Future Soldier, when I played that I thought that game was the future of _gaming_ I am at the very least glad battle bit did remember that.
