Battlefield 1: BEST GUNS ~ SUPPORT | Top 6 Best Support Weapons in BF1 (2018)

Unpopular opinion: Madsen Storm is the best run n’ gun LMG in the game. Better at midrange than BAR and Burton and a bigger magazine. The magazine placement has yet to get me killed. I understand why the Lewis gun is ranked #1. Very easy to control, accurate, decent size magazine with a good reload time.

MG1917 is great for covering your teammates at long ranges and supressing the enemy snipers.

Call me dumb and noobie but I really liked the Benet Mercie. However my fav is the Lewis gun low weight with aa sights

My top 5: 1) *Hout Automatic* - An incredibly underrated pick for Support players, mainly due to its -4.0 FSSM (LW) and low minspread giving it laserbeam accuracy at range. Combined with its best-in-class horizontal recoil and improved hipfire by nature of having machine rifle hip spread modifiers, the Huot is almost unfairly versatile, and only suffers from its relatively high TTK. 2) *BAR 1918* - is quite possibly one of the best overall weapons in the game. -Three- *FOUR* absolutely fantastic variants which are all viable in different circumstances (perhaps even the best at their respective roles in the class) all serve to make the BAR one of the meta-defining LMGs and a common pick for many Support players. The only things letting this weapon down are its magazine capacity and the fact its Low Weight variant costs $60 to unlock. 3) *Burton LMR* - is a fantastic and unorthodox LMG tailored for mobile players. Its 5-6BTK damage model seems unimpressive at first, but at 830RPM it actually outdamages the BAR by a 60Hz frame from 0-12m, and then actually fucking stays 5BTK out to 28m, whilst having less hrec per shot than the BAR (though it has similar hrec overall, due to ROF.) In addition, incendiary rounds (6-7BTK on infantry) instantly disable plane parts since they have exactly the same properties as the dogfighter incendiary rounds, so you can fuck over planes far more competently than you’d expect with its magazine size. The Burton would genuinely be the most broken weapon in its class if it weren’t for its extremely limiting 20 round capacity and lack of a Low Weight variant. 4) *Madsen LMG* - has always lurked in the shadows of the other base-game machine rifle, the faster-killing BAR M1918, but offers a fantastically versatile Low Weight variant (the BAR’s costs $60) and a larger magazine. 5) *M1917 MG* - is basically a massive-mag M1909, sharing its fantastic projectile, but differing slightly in other aspects - the M1909 is strictly better off the bipod due to its marginally lower horizontal recoil, but the M1917 ends up being better on the bipod by virtue of its lower minspread. This is unquestionably the best ‘turret meta’ weapon by a country mile for larger game modes, since you can abuse your eternal 5BTK at range, with the best bullet velocity in its class, with the most bullets and the best variants for going prone on top of a fucking rock for the whole game. Absolutely disgusting.

In vanilla BF1 with Support as my main class, my list looked like: 1) Huot Low Weight - all rounder (b/c its more accurate then the Lewis Gun) 2) MG15na Suppressive - longer range (high bullet velocity, 200 bullets, fast reload) 3) Madson Storm - shorter range (BAR seemed too 1v1, so 31 bullets made more sense to take on multiple targets) Later on my long range became the M1917 Suppressive, and my short range went from Chauchat to Parabellum to finally settling on the Burton but my all-rounder has remained the Huot Low Weight.

The buffed Huot is god tier, surprised that wasnt anywhere on this list

inspired by the actual war, I dedicated all 4 of my classes to be like real countries that fought. Assault: Italian, US, German. Medic: French, Italian, German. Support: British, US, German. Scout: Russian, British, German. I change it every so often.

No love for the Huot? Best kept secret in the Support class for me

So sad Perino didn't make it on your list, it has the lowest recoil, with or without the bipod. Saying this from personal experience.

My list would probably be: Madsen MG Lewis IMG Chauchat Parabellum The Madsen seems to fill that “GPMG” role very well for me. Sure it might not have the nicest sight picture and magazine capacity, but that above-average ROF and reload times make it good at CQC battle as well as long range (if you use the Low weight version with the bipod) weapon.

Agree with the Lewis gun telescopic, by far one of the most underrated weapons/variants in the class

Parabellum is easily the best Support gun, an absolute beast against infantry, calvary, and planes.

Great video, JediMasterKris!! Interesting choice for first place!! I also like the Lewis gun, but my favorite Support weapon (and the one that I start most games with) is the BAR Telescopic. I actually like all the Support weapons, each one has its own strengths. All depends how aggressive/defensive you want to play.

I really like your list, but I would just flip it upside down. I tend more to the lMG 08/18 and Burton since I generally play very aggressively in an attacking style.

The m1917 mg is incredible at taking out bombers solo. Aim in front of them and do long burst, to avoid the overheat point.

The support class is the most fun for switching around weapons and play styles.

The recoil of the lmg 08/18 May have exteme recoil but you can controll it just pull down on your mouse or your stick

I think chauchat is the best LMG in the game. The damage output is so damn good, that you can be effective at any given range and time.

Mine are Huot Optical, BAR trench, Chauchat low weight and MG1917 Low weight. The Burton is a close tie with the BAR, but it's harder to use the burton at long range.

My favorite is the plane Jane Lewis gun but I like using all LMGs

I think if you want to make the Lewis even more versatile, give it the ability of the A2 BAR to switch fire rates between 480-600 RPM. Then you will have the ultimate jack of all trades

M1917 is my fav. Very little recoil. Easy to use with or w/o bipod and huge magazine.

The Lewis Gun was always my favorite weapon for the Support class

Madsen Storm is a laser beam and kills relatively quick too. How the Parabellum wasn’t top 3 is beyond me. Lewis and Burton shouldn’t have even sniffed the list. I got 100 stars with the Parabellum, Madsen and BAR, definitely my top 3 with the Chauchat close behind.

Mg1917 telescopic is great for suppressing snipers. Probably kill more snipers and medics trying to shoot at long range than anything else.

As a relatively new player, here's what I want from a support (or any) gun: When I put my target reticle over an enemy and pull the trigger, bullets come out of the gun and hit the enemy. The Lewis gun doesn't do that.

M1917 MG. Now that's the shit. Fucklotsa ammo by WW1 and 'Bf' standards, a decent accuracy especially with the bipod, a fire rate which makes it harder to waste it all, and takes way longer to overheat. As a gun nut who loves heavy guns with those traits it's a dream pretty come true with the caveat you've only 1 additional mag.

Why did the perino not make it in the list?! It is so overpowered. I really love it. Not in close combat tho. Fast reloading great aim and you kill a Someone very quickly. I use the anti air sight. My most used gun with support
