Same man, I don't know what's more insulting, the fact that they made us wait so long for this crap, or the fact that they tried to make Battlefield a COD game.

@@zelestial1681 truth be told there are still developers out there that do a good job when it comes to creative content and quality driven. The down side is, the folks who are responsible for good content, are either ex devs or experienced ones from big studios that probably saw where the studio was going and they bailed out in time (most of them) and started their own studios. Or indie developers, the ones who do not have capital to actually develop a fully fledged medium sized to big studio. Once those people left their places, obviously the less creative, less passionate, less driven by quality folks took their places. And the only passion they have is literally to make money. And that is it. As an ex dev I can assure you that the video game developing world is poised/plagued with different types of different shapes and sizes of bad. @@zelestial1681 well, the death of beauty, art, ingenuity and innovation in this sense. Because we are depicting video games as artistic works "per ansamble" and what we actually deal with is capitalization and profit here. Like I was talking to somebody else in the comment sections of other videos of Angry Joe, at some point. In order to make substantial profit and be able to innovate you must let the minds that deal with creating express themselves as unhinged as possible. So that your economic income comes, even at a later stage. In the world of capitalism and economic capital, is very hard to be able to materialize innovation and revolutionzing in a certain aspect when it comes to value and quality. During our days, we are sadly the outcome and we are driven by profits and we are in slave of profits compared to actual innovation and creative, amazing, and constructive content. You have Konami, Sega as some examples, trying to make money out of building slot machines with their overexhausted franchises and put them into casinos compared to the actual intent and accent on bringing innovation and nurturing the creative spirits of it, that is very low and slow paced as an economic investment and activity. E. A. for example do it the same, with Activision, and many others. The later just push hard on the video game market and try to shift it and get the world used to it. And that is bad, in the sense that...you see what happens. I hope it makes sense and you understand.

Agreed, Bad Company 2 was a goddamn revelation in sounddesign, it blew me away back then. 3 Was great in locating the sound source, but the adrenaline rush of BC2 was unparalleled
I remember playing Bad Company 1 and 2, was thinking "woah! this destruction is so cool, I bet it will be ridiculously cool 10 years from now!" Little did I know that that would be the most fun I would have in battlefield.
If you like destruction and chaotic gameplay, I highly recommend Red Faction Guerilla. You can even ram vehicles into buildings and the structure gets demolished, it's freaking great.

So grateful I didn't preorder, but still sad that I still can't get my Battlefield fix =( Edit: should clarify, no bad vibes toward BF1, just wasn't for me
I've never been more disappointed in a video game. Battlefield stole my heart with BC2. It got me into PC gaming as I built a PC just to play BF3 the way it was intended. This is such an insult to long time fans I still can't even believe it.
This is the perfect modern game, broken as shit, lying review scores, missing features, and recycling content from older better games. They should have called this "Battlefield: Modern Gaming 2021." Portal mode should have been called, "The Good Times."
If Battlefield goes back to the basics of making simple, immersive war-like gameplay that leans milsim-ish but not full-arma then they will get their fanbase back.
Their new fanbase is kids and dumb people with deep pockets or whose parents give them their credit card to shut them up. They dont care what real gamers think because the casual fans just like good graphics and explosions.
The Blue Bear he means realistic skins, armies, and ‘atmosphere’. Like BF3 and 4 multiplayer. Not necessarily gameplay… except the wingsuit. That shit is too goofy currently.
@The Blue Bear Squad is based on project reality. A mod for BF2. But base game BF2 was way more like a milsim than current BF games. One of the main reasons for that IMHO is because since BF3 dice felt the need to increasingly make it so that people behave like they're wearing rocket boosted roller skates. They zoom around and fly over walls, all to get us into the shooty shooty action sooner as though we're all ADHD kids who hit the fast forward button whenever John Wick has a dialogue scene that goes on longer than 30 seconds. They build fantastic looking worlds with amazing sound design. I firmly believe that would allow them to tone down the Micheal Bay without people getting bored. You can see how ludicrously fast it all is if you stop to focus on any weighted item rigged to a player models body. It flaps and bounces around crazily.
Remember the good old days when you'd put a video game disc in and just play the game, no 150GB installs, good campaign stories, no micro transactions....Modern gaming is con

22 guns! BF4 had 20 knives and like 100 guns.. Collecting the guns from dlc achievements was very satisfying. It was cool to pick up a gun and not recognize it or it had different attachments than you own and later when you unlock the rare gun it felt so good.
I just don't get why the sound design has gone so downhill. The past few Battlefields have had some of the best sound design in ANY game, let alone the FPS genre. The ambient effects, the bullets whizzing past, the audio mix totally changing depending on your location from in-vehicle to interiors. The soundscaping was one of the best in the industry and it actually sounded like you were really there in a warzone. It immersed you so much, how did they go backwards on this?
Rumour has it _none_ of the sound people from the previous Battlefields worked on this one, though I don't remember whether it was a simple attrition, a mass layoff or DICE actually outsorcing that part and not rehiring the same studio. A demonstration of why game companies being shitty places to work for is a problem for players too either way.
The loss of destructibility is devastating, destructibility made BF3 so good, the whole map would change over course of a battle and actually make you feel like its been through a war. Like metro with the tile pillars being destroyed and giving less cover or the apartment building having no cover because the whole walls were missing.
now all dice does is make maps. these aren't new games. just updated versions. no campaign either. i didnt buy bf5. campaign too short. as long as people keep buying battle royale games, companies will keep getting away with charging money for games that arent new. how many battle royale games are people going to buy?
I love destructible environment and I agree they screwed us over I mean it won't be anything like the awesome destruction of Red faction Armageddon and gorilla but still. It may as well be a call of duty game at this point without the destructible environment.
BF 2042 deserves a 2/10 maybe 2.5/10 if they do fix more stuff and even then the damage they done is way too much especially due to them not only being a legacy company that has done 1 million times better with older games in the same space. Literally in perspective Cyberpunk 2077 is 3 times better and less scummy then BF 2042 because of the cash grabs and 4 battle passes and it being 100 dollars plus. Atleast Cyberpunk 2077 was 60 dollars. Allowed refunds, more patches, and no future cashgrabs with battle passes/shop etc
Breaks my heart how EA/Dice has slowly destroyed this franchise. Once upon a time there was no better military shooter! It takes some impressive effort to 'F' it this bad!

It’s honestly astounding how it isn’t illegal to release a game in this state. I understand video games are considered an art form and what not, but at the end of the day it’s a product that you’re selling to people. Imagine you went to a car dealership to buy a new car, and instead of giving you the car you wanted from the lot, they instead gave you one without brakes or tires and, and said “sorry, this car is in beta, you’ll get the brakes and tires in half a year”. That’s how this game feels
Games are legally in a weird spot. At the same time they sell you a product but it doesn't follow consumer laws.. it's trying to get away from warranties and such by using service related laws. It's so weird how they managed to do that since it allows them to not have to keep promises.
They couldnt get away with this shit back then when there were no online updates to just patch it later its ridiculous!! Pay full price for a game that doesnt have to be complete or even function correctly its insane!!!

Taking out the scoreboard also kills a lot of the competitive spirit. I used to play BF4 and challenge myself to get the highest I could on the board, one of my major points of enjoyment while playing was to see the result of my efforts when I rose at or near the top. There are so many reasons why the scoreboard is important to most FPS games, the idea of excluding it over sensibilities is totally asinine.
I miss being the top one with like 10 kills because my headshots counted for like 1000 score when sniping lol I was completely fine when they removed the marksman bonus from affecting the scoreboard to let other people take the spot lol
Also the fact that most of the score you accumulate is through team work and objective based that it encourages you to play the objective without it there’s no incentive to team play
Man I remember in Battlefield 1 I was playing conquest and when the match ended I was at the top with 168 kills and only 8 deaths I felt so fucking cool and I even got some friends requests because of that
....This is hands down the LONGEST Angry Review of all time. For a series that Joe cares about so much and seeing it in this state? So deserving of the length and amount of tough love.
Removal of campaign is always a warning sign. It's never "oh we're going to use the resources we would spend on that to improve the multiplayer," it's "so the investors can take the money that would have been spent on that and put it into their pockets."
all due respect sir, yes, but no. You normally spend 4-5 hrs in the campaign and then perhaps 1000 hrs in the MP. That argument is bad. I personally never cared for campaign when it came to BF franchise. What is mind blowing is that building a 5hrs campaign cost as much as building the MP part for most part. Truth is that the game should not release in such a state like ever. With or without campaign.
The addition of campaign to the battlefield series was purely just to attract new players and console players. Original battlefield players will remember before they made bad company 1 and the first battlefield campaign.

Graphics & sound usually are pretty good, but the mechanics are always so bad and broken that it doesn't matter. There's also a lack of passion in huge game titles and it really shows. That was the absolute best intro skit. We will forever remember the launch days of no revives in a wall...and how sometimes two or more other players would gather around you like you were on your death bed feeling bad they couldn't revive you.
Conspiracy theory: DICE ditched the scoreboard because they either know they can't stop or don't want to spend the time/money to stop hackers. If you can't tell that headshot694200000 has 140 kills and 2 deaths, you're not likely to report them. You're likely to write off their impossible killshots as net code or lag or whatever because you now can't prove it. Suddenly there are "less hackers" in Battlefield. Problem that's been plaguing the series for years: solved! High fives all around! :D
Nah that's a little too short-sighted IMO. Hackers are problematic, yeah, but not to such an extent. Besides, that solves nothing. I think it's more to do with how they want to make the game more... "accessible" to a wider audience. OR maybe it's just because whoever worked on this doesn't have a clue and thought they were innovating.
I heard it said recently about another really awful game that 'calling it garbage is an insult to garbage because even the contents of trash were functional at one point.'
In any given game, when you herd that start if you didnt run to a spot to see it fall you always got a free kill from someone else watching. It was never not epic.
It’s a shame, the optimistic fans bring up that bf4 was broken at first too, but that game always had a solid direction. This games direction is on the apex/cod wave, no matter how they fix bugs, that’s not changing. I’m good, that’s not battlefield. If I want to play cod, I’ll play cod.
I would rather them bring bots to older titles for offline play or even do a reboot of bf3 or something. Bf4 is still good but hackers are taking over.
Wasn’t lacklustre at launch either. Had way more maps, server browser, basic features and significantly more weapons from day one, naval combat and no doubt more things in forgetting
If you go back and play BF3, you get the feeling that we’re just another grunt in the machine. The voice over lines are superb and really make you feel like you’re in the battle, either giving the enemy hell or having your ass handed to you. That’s the battlefield experience that I think we’re really missing out on with this latest release. The experience of everyone trying to pull together for the win because you were all just grunts.
2:21 Can we just all take a moment and appreciate that Joe still plays the same intro song for every review? I was mad when "Game Theory" changed their 8 bit intro into a more modern version. This AJ review song gets me pumped every single time shockingly enough.
Just dropping in to say Darby Crash was the shit. He'll probably never get the credit as Punk's answer to Kurt Cobain or Jim Morrison, but he fucking was.
The trailer for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Vietnam has more character by itself than anything in BF2042. There isn’t a single unique bone in its body
