Yep. It shows that in the end, no matter how you paint it, neither side was actually "Good" or "Evil". They were fighting for their homes, their families, and their rights to live.
This one little scene should've been expanded into a full war story. The music, the experience of being up there in the clouds, the palpable fear when those spitfires attacked, it was incredible.
bercik130894 Then surely you must have their party membership papers and identification cards. Cough it up to prove yourself. Otherwise, they weren’t members of the National Socialist German Workers Party.
Well also the fact the Goering was incredibly short sighted, what killed the Luftwaffe was that Germany never bothered to increase fighter pilot training until it was far too late. They were already hitting pilot shortages by the Battle of Britain in 1940 and never attempted to increase this in any significant way until the United States already had air supremacy in 1944. The Germans literally were sending in pilots and ground crews to fight in Russia as infantry in 1943 which goes to show how stupid the Luftwaffe was.

@AMERICAN DUDE 7605 We just want to see the war from a different perspective that has rarely been potrayed before in Video Games and play from said perspective: in this case the Germans. Single Player campaigns where you play as the Allies have been done to death and we want a change of pace. It would be very interesting to play as a German Soldier as thats a perspective we rarely see in video games.
@@shaggygabe728 Not a game, but a mini series, ''Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter'' where you get to follow the German side of the war is really interesting!
@L no, it's a shallow and completely inaccurate to think that an entire country was a n@zi sympathizer. Operation Valkyrie, Oskar Schindler, Battle of Castle Itter, Ervin Rommel himself, there's so many occasions in which Germans showed that not everyone in N@zi Germany was a n@zi. Go back to study history buddy, u don't know shit
And when a lot of people learn of what the wars concept was like battlefield 1 for example we see no German story to see that people where lost on both sides and there for confuse german life’s as the equivalent of a.I.
It was an absolute lie, an German tank would never survive that long and there is absolutely not talks about the n sdap which was responsible for the war
"Theo, it's Heinrich (Henry). I've shot two bombers; munition depleted. I'll start ramming now. Goodbye, we'll see us in Valhalla!" (Heinrich Ehrler, German pilot who was sentenced to death but allowed to fly because of the pilot shortage, on April 4th 1945, just one month before the capitulation)
He was sentenced to death, because he tried to intercept an british attack on his own, but failed and the battleship tripitz was destroyed and over 900 german sailors were killed. It is said, that even if the wohle squadron would have started, that they couldnt intercept the attack in time. He was still sentenced to death for his careless move. Later was his sentence changed into 3 years in prisoncamp. It seems, that he still took the blame on himself for the failed interception and chose this honorable death.
@@Byesteiners Holy shit, i thought he was going to be executed because of some minor mistake, but turns out he caused the fucking tirpitz to sink lmaoo
There was this one Luftwaffe pilot That flew in the second world war. When he was tasked with intercepting British bombers, he simply rendered the bombers unable to drop bombs by making a fuel leak or something Else. Then he would escort them back to the Channel. He didn’t kill anyone.
@@tabaluga9750 No, Franz shot people down. But He is famous for showing mercy where he felt there was no threat for a single B17. The music and the desperation of this scene was amazingly done. Plus noticing the picture of the German Pilots family was certainly an emotional moment.
Holy crap. First time a game developer has us playing from the Axis Point of view. Thats amazing. The war ended over 74 years ago. Long over due playing a WW2 game and shooting allied planes
May I suggest a flight Sim, called IL-2 Great Battles. It has campaign's from all sides, German, Russian, and US/UK. Both scripted campaigns and career built in for these.
"The crosshair found the workers on the assembly line, they found the commuters of the train, and they found children in the school" Fighting and defend those love one back home.
During some of the last fighter sorties against the Allied bombers, a woman came over the radio to inspire the pilots, saying "Remember the women and children of Dresden!"
As a German I got massive goosebumps during that section. My Great-Grandma (94 Years old) has told me the stories how she almost got killed by a Bomb, I think it was a American, because it was during daytime.
"The Nazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everyone else, and nobody was going to bomb them. @Prometh With Codeine At least the Allies didn't gas kids, put civilians in death camps and order experimentation to be done on Slavic POWs. I can play this game too if you want ;)
It was a lil sad in the beginning when to saw the germans family and the music was playing and the german radio talking at the same time... it probably just me
M. J Schindler’s List is fiction. For all we know, the bombers in this video headed for Hamburg, and resulted in the deaths of over 35,000 people and nothing can be done to stop them. But please, go on about sad Hollywood movies and ignore the atrocities committed by the Allies.
I’ll just remind you that these bombers weren’t gonna bombard some military complexes. They were mostly going to bombard civilians targets like cities, the French suffered many civilian casualties because of this, the Germans too
They said they will, the story will center on an infantryman who fights in China before ww2 officially starts, then when in starts, you’ll go to Philippines, Singapore, all the way to Okinawa
@@bloodndestroy I'm a bit annoyed that they censored the Swastika in the Last Tiger. I mean there are no laws in America preventing the symbolism being shown Wolfenstein shows it. @@Kiyoko504 Yea and unfortunately because of people like them the game developers are less inclined to make such things happen then, because they only do things that the majority will like to make money. Hence why we've never seen Japan and Germany based stories in war games, and WW2 games always focus on the lame western front (so that americans would buy the game).
My great grandfather served with the army during WWII, shipped out to Britain for training and watched the Battle of Britain unfold above him. Can only imagine
I collected ww2 photo's and postcards and on one they talk exited on how bombers were flying over and " we " shot back. If only they knew what was coming.
MetehanTV “and what does the Wehrmacht have to do with Hitler starting the war?” They... were the German army...? The ones who crossed the border into Poland? Who attacked Poland?
Its amazing that the Allies actually convinced themselves in the early stages of the war that bombers didn't need require fighter cover, that they would be able to defend against German fighters with the concept of mutual protection using only their onboard weapons

Imagine yourself in this situation: You’re low on fuel, you’ve lost tens of comrades in the skies over your homeland and you know you’re the only one standing in the way of millions of families being torn apart below you. The Germans were just as much victims of ww2 as any other country, Dice.
@shadowtrooper 1 You would be surprised. That is actually happened. Heinrich Ehrler, Major of Jagdgeschwader 5 died probably while ramming a B-24 bomber on April 4. 1945. @@Reichsritter You're right, an aggressive state that broke peace agreements and violated the neutrality of several nations, that waged a war of slavic extermination in the East, that was attempting to purge any undesirable they could find to the detriment of their own country and scientific goals, that had a military that would frequently commit atrocities against civilian populations and POW's: Is the same as the side that was attacked because they refused to allow such a state to continuously expand after it had broken its agreements. Yes, such a big, grey area.
@@Reichsritter But the Allies had actual rules and regulations to stop or lessen the frequency of such actions whereas the Nazi German state was either not opposed to such actions or even encouraging such actions. This reminded me of the name of a BF1 mission, *Friends in High Places*, it stretches over 2 meanings and they're beautifully combined by the developers.
this is exactly the point in the "intro" where DICE invested more time and heart into the cinematics and soundtrack than they did with the actual game play....

I don't believe Nazi Germany and it's military of that era should be worshiped, but playing as a German for once is refreshing in terms of video game play and entrainment that's all just entrainment.
In this scene I forgot I was serving Germany, all I thought about was doing what I had to do to survive, and that is what most pilots on and side felt in WW2
In the early war years the RAF did, until heavy losses forced them to change to night bombing. But yes, in 1943 they certainly wouldn't have sent their virtually obsolete Blenheim's over Germany in broad daylight to be massacred easily.
I got a notification from somebody saying it could be Americans, but it's gone? Anyway if somebody brings that up, at 1:08 it says RAF 114 Squadron and the bombers being used in the video are Bristol Blenheims, yet 114 Squadron stopped using these by March 1943 and the Bombing of Hamburg commenced in July 1943. Plus can't find anything indicating 114 Squadron took part in bombing of hamburg; they would have been stationed in N. Africa or Sicily at this time
@@brolutiongaming3983 Not really, it's because the British bombers specifically the Lancaster had much fewer gunners than the B-17 which is why the Lancaster was able to carry much more bombs than the B-17
Plus Spitfires never flew fighter escort over Germany, they didn’t have the range. In fact only when the US introduced he P-51 with the droppable tank in ‘44 did bombers start having a fighter escort into Germany.
