Scharnhorst deserved to be famous in recent times, she holds a more interesting history

Some beautiful camouflage patterns. It's interesting to see the bright yellow life rafts even when the ship is completely blacked out.

I love this wonderful ship,it was as elegant and powerful as the Gnesenau,the Bismarck and the Tirpitz.

Something missing on the stern? But beautiful paint job,and was personally the best looking ship during WW2.

Der "Scharenhorst", und ihr Schwesterschiff;Gneissenau sind Wunderschöne Schiffe und aüßerst Schnell, jedoch durch den frühen Stabellauf noch in der Weimarer Republik, zu sehr Beschränkt,durch die Fesseln des Versailles Vertrags in Größe und Gewicht (Deplazament)und der Hauptartelerie (nur 28 cm.11 Zoll/Inch),was wohl auch ein Grund dafür war das Sie im englischen Sprachraum als "Schlachtkreuzer" bezeichnet wurden. Obwohl Sie vollwertige Schlachtschiffe waren, was Panzerung und Standfestigkeit angeht. Kurz vor Kriegsbeginn war eine Aufrüstung der schweren Artellerie auf 38 cm. und sogar eine Verlängerung um 20 mtr. im Gespräch, jedoch durch das Fehlen anderer Schweren Schiffe und die Kriegslage kamm es dazu nicht mehr, und Sie mussten den Seekrieg so wie Sie waren bestreiten ,ihr Schicksal erteilte die Scharenhorst dann an Weihnachten 1943 im Nordmeer,gegen Überlegene Alliierte Kriegsschiffe in einem Nachtgefecht,mit Leider einem der ersten Treffer in die Funkmeß Anlage (Radar) und somit Blind war ihr Schicksal besiegelt. Allen tapferen Besatzungsmitglieder, Ruht in Frieden.
