Galactica's just built different lol. Quite literally. She's a solid-state entity, built like a brick to take punishment in a defensive war; and if atmospheric reentry is classified as punishment? Well, Galactica's built to take it. Hell, notice all the compound curves that Galactica's practically built out of? Curves and arches naturally take stress better than flat planes and hard angles. Now Pegasus? She *definitely* wouldn't have survived.

The CGI on this show was phenomenal. Really the only sci-fi sfx that I've seen that have felt as realistic was the Expanse (That show deserved a *far* bigger audeince than it got) but that was only because the Expanse is more near future (About 300 years in the future tech) whereas BSG where far more interstellar star-trek level spaceships tech. But what made it look so real is just the physics of everything, and how working-class all the crew where. This wasnt a middle-class cruise-ship USS Enterprise. This was the space version of a naval aircraft carrier with overworked and underpaid "sailors" just struggling to make it thru the day. l. It looked like a real spaceship with real people working on it , and that just sold the illusion to me so well.
@fallinginthed33p

@@vitordanieleal Okay? I only said one doesn't usually move without the other, especially their flagship and definitely not after the Pegasus got ambushed. Besides, the Pegasus has proven to be a larger threat to the Cylons than the Galactica since it left the Scorpia Shipyards as a fully functional Battlestar (Galactica was missing a majority of its wartime amaments and only had one functional flight pod) and has since proven that it can brute force its way out of most situations and hold its own without Galactica's support, even when the odds are stacked heavily against it (primary example being when it was ambushed by three Basestars). It's arrival marked one of the few times the Colonials actually went on the offensive with the destruction of the Resurrection ship.

If I remember correctly, Ron Moore said in the DVD commentary that he was sure he was getting an award for this. He lost to the smoke cloud on "Lost." I never saw it, but to Hell with "Lost" for making "BSG" lose.

This was the second to best Galactica entrance in the series. The very best one was at the Cylon colony, that battle was really intense. But the best Galactica exit was the very final when it leads the fleet towards the Sun. It is a TV series, it is not real, but the watery eyes for most viewers was real when they played the anthem (which is the original 1978 Galactica music), and we saw her all bitten up flying for the last time.
