Prince Solomon, with his closest man, Ibrahim Pargam Ibrahim receives the bad news in a hunt. His father Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan passed away. Prince Suleyman sets out for Istanbul without waiting. Prince Süleyman quickly reaches the capital. He attends the culus ceremony without waiting. His life changed in one day. He started his life as Sultan Süleyman.
Meanwhile, a galley loaded with slaves coming over the Black Sea is heading towards Istanbul. The hottest of the slaves is not yet aware that he is on a journey that will change his destiny. He is rebelling helplessly to return.

Poor Mehmet is missing. He could have controlled both Bayezid and Selim, as both of them looked up to him unconditionally since childhood. Same goes with Mustafa and Mehmet as they loved and respected each other. You take Mehmet out from the middle and everything collapses.

Mehmet would take Mustafa's, Beyazid's and Cihangir's side. After all, Mustafa was at Cihangir's and at Beyazid's side, just like Cihangir and Beyazid were at Mustafa's side. The one who was jealous of Mustafa and Beyazid was Selim, because Selim knew that Mustafa was the Prince who deserved the throne most, after all Mustafa was the Prince of the Throne, the Heir Prince, the first born Prince of Sultan Syleiman. Mustafa was the one who had right of taking the throne after Syleiman's death and this should be accepted by Selim. Because the tradition says that the biggest son of the Sultan takes the throne, Syleiman told this himself to Mehmet. And even if Mehmet was first in line of Syleiman's list to take the throne (because Syleiman's love for Hurrem made him to make such a decision about Mehmet, appoint him as the Heir Prince), even if Syleiman decided this concerning Mehmet, it was Mustafa who was the biggest son of Syleiman, so he was the one who would take the throne in the future, although Hurrem took care for the opposite.

@@dionysiossmaragdis2844 True although there's no line is succession there and Hurrem taught her children that not instilling them who is gonna be the sultan but taught them Mustafa is a qualified prince than Selim but he's not innocent and he's not the first in line to the throne(that's what got him killed because of what his mother instilled to him and the livid support of the Janissaries) He was not the prince of the Throne either because Suleiman trusted the Heir Province to Mehmed then Selim even called him Sehzade Sultan Mehmet even in his tomb and has a throne above his tomb, And Hurrem didn't took care of it because none of them are Innocent neither is Mustafa and it was show in reality and in the series, But I prefer Mehmet and Mustafa Beyazid more than Selim. Mustafa was the more of warrior Prince but Mehmed was the diligent and smart Prince, The biggest prince will ascend? I agree but as Safiye Sultan said(or Kosem? The sad reality is that Selim was the weak link out of the siblings. It's why he was so easy to control, so easy to manipulate, and why he sadly managed to outlive all of his brothers. But I think that if they wouldn't have been in such a competitive environment, this could have been solved. I truly think all of the siblings loved each other dearly and tried their best to have good relationships with each other despite the bull from their parents.

Hurrem never tried to kill Mustafa in history. Her role in Mustafa's death is disputed. Mustafa died mostly because of Suleiman's paranoia. His ancestors had overthrown him and with him being paranoid because of his age, he believed Mustafa was after the throne too. Plus, Mustafa had a beard and refused to shave it when Sultan asked him to. In those days, you were to have a beard only if you were a sultan. Mustafa was a really gentle soul and brave too, an ideal contender like Mehmet, but history believes he did rebel towards the end of his life. But rest all put aside, the young sulemain who was far sighted and had an impeccable hindsight, the one who thought twice befor making any decisions would never have executed Mustafa. He bent a lot of rules, and he could have bent the fraticide law too for the sake of his people. But with age, he just grew paranoid and allowed Mustafa's execution. As historians note, Mustafa's only fault was his mother Mahidevran, who despite tutoring him good at times, also poisoned the fruit from a young age. She always eyed Suleiman's power more than anything else

She was the one who was closest to Suleiman, she was accused of manipulation and black magic at that time. Mustafa was indeed a threat for Suleiman's throne as people at that time started to call him sultan and he also started to act like one but saying that Hurrem was innocent despite being accusations, not really true.

Bruh he is never getting the throne, so why would he care about manisa And although bayezid loathed selim and was jealous of him, that is bcz he was always overshadowed by selim The night was ruined by selim Besides, selim is pretty coward and has no qualities of becoming the heir

Mustafa wa beyazid deserve the throne but they forget that to reach there they have to eliminate Selim but they underestimated his quality of surviving and that's where they loss this war of throne. Selim was the weakest among all and he doesn't deserve to be king but he knew the one who survivors will be king no matter how strong or weak you are

Maybe it's an unpopular opinion, but I think Selim was the best choice to inherit the throne. He was calm, didn't get messed in any wars or conflicts. After Suleiman, who;'s been some kind of a conqueror, such a ruler was the best possible option.

No, Mustafa was. Mehmet was Hurrem's son, but even if Mehmet was Hurrem's son, Mustafa was the first-born Prince, so Mustafa was deserving of the throne. But Mehmet and Mustafa had an agreement that if any of them ascent to the throne, the other one would not kill the other one. If was Mustafa, Mehmet would never been killed by the orders of Mustafa and if Mehmet was the ruler, then Mustafa would never been killed by the orders of Mehmet.

it is so sad to see how much they truly bonded, and how much Mustafa truly cared for and respected his siblings. Only for their mother to have him killed in the end because of her never ending jealously, and anger towards his mother. Her need to remain at the top caused her to do many despicable things.

Nah, suleiman did ignore hurrem for weeks/ months at a time. Nurbanu won't let selim go anywhere without her. She sees herself as an equal to him. That's why he constantly tells her to stay out of things but she doesn't. He even had to argue with her to go with their son to a different place. Very different

Like 98% will disagree but after seeing the attitude of Mustafa and Bayezid, (Mehmet is the perfect one to be the next Sultan, however he was killed), I realized that Selim is dangerous to be a Sultan because he will not spare even his own blood yet, I saw that he will rule better than Bayezid and Mustafa. Selim can stand up for his own word. He doesn't delay. He doesn't forget what a Sultan has to do with the criminals, etc. Isn't he like Sultan Suleyman when it comes to making decisions? nevertheless, Selim shows less mercy. He stands, looks,talks, and decides like a great ruler. I hate Nurbanu though. But isn't she like Hurrem? she is also clever.

this show was really very anti selim. i wish they hadn't changed historical facts. selim was kind and friendly to his siblings. and there is no proof that mustafa was close to his half siblings, they spent most of their lives apart. and beyazid was killed on suleyman's orders because he rebelled. selim was a peaceful person who never harmed his siblings and later became a generous and peaceful sultan. the last war of suleyman was so costly that the Ottoman's treasury was left empty and the rulers couldn't do big expeditions because of it. but during sultan selim II reign, they defended their lands and conqurered Cyprus. he helped his people during years of famine. he helped Mahidevran, built tomb for mustafa. he named his kids after his siblings, mehmet , cihangir, mustafa. he only started drinking after ascending to the throne, and this show did injustice to his memory. I hope people would not remember him by this series and not curse him. they really were all victims of strange laws.

Yes i felt bad for Selim being maligned and remembered as the drunk sultan just because he hasnt done in his short reign an expansion to further east or west but his main focus was to take care of the internal problem of the state meanwhile Murad the 4th was also a drunk sultan and died from cirrhosis

It's heartwarming how Mustafa fills the void that Mehmet left behind, loving his half-brothers like his own. Too bad Suleiman gave into his paranoia (the turn of events shown in the series, as much as I love it, is meant to give the dramatic effect and is a complete contrast to what happened in history) to execute Mustafa. I'd say it over and again, the only fault of Mustafa, just the way historians put it, was his mother Mahidevran

It was a fight waiting to happen, I don't blame beyazid but selim was arrogant to him in the show ( I said show not actual history) so you I was not surprised this happened because his parents always forced him to respect selim even though selim was very arrogant to him and took full advantage of being the eldest. In the show he sabotaged his younger brother any chance he got and beyazid let his temper get the better of him and let himself look foolish in front of parents. I know what beyazid is going through because I have several family members that act arrogant like selim.

I guess on an emotional level, Nurbanu had it easier than Hurrem. She only had one son, who was also the eldest son of Selim. All she had to do was make sure her brother-in-laws died so that her Selim would be the sole heir. She wouldn't have an emotional connection to Selim's brothers and hence wouldn't have felt bad for their deaths.
