Bayezid and Selim had a fight. Hurrem stand by Bayezid and this makes Selim very frustrated.

Things don't get settled down after İbrahim Pasha's death.
Hürrem understands that Sultana Şah isn't a friend. She challenges her enemies after having Suleiman in her corner. She lays on entertainment in the harem as it's still being mourned for İbrahim Pasha. This drives Hatice to distraction. As Mihrimah gets disappointed by Yahya of Taşlıca's attitude, Malkoçoğlu Bali Bey returns in İstanbul. He informs Suleiman that it will be attempted to assassinate him. Hatice vows vengeance against Hürrem and gets Diana in the harem to kill her.
Hürrem understands that Sultana Şah has different aims and doesn't wait for too long to get her claws out. She lays on entertainment in a harem after a short time İbrahim died. Hatice loses her temper after learning this and comes into the harem to stop it.
Malkoçoğlu gets attacked on his way to the capital. However, he and his men manage to get over the attack. On the other hand, the effect of İbrahim's death continues. The Pope thinks that Suleiman is left alone and takes an action to end him.

She didn't marry her when she was just born like some other sultanas did (for example Kosem, she married her daughter when she was just 2 y.o., that's historical fact, for political reasons). She tried to make her happy, even asked the man she loved, BaliBey, if he had some feelings for her daughter. Only when she found out that he hadn't, she told her daughter about Rustem. Plus it wasn't her idea, Suleyman actually wanted this marriage. And Mikhrimakh is a Sultana, king's blood, she could divorce her husband if she wanted, because he had a lower place than her, but she didn't. Also did Rustem treat her bad? He loved and respected her, and she respected him. This marriage wasn't actually so bad. Also not all such marriages in history were because of love, big amount of them were for political reasons. Very rare monarchical couples had feelings for each other, that was not only in Muslim countries but in others too. Plus if you check out real story about their marriage, Mikhrimakh actually loved her husband. This show isn't historically accurate

she was the one giving lessons about love and how that was so important. She married her only daughter to a man she never loved and Hurrem knew it very well. Thats hypocritical of her. She knew Rustem was a liar and a cheat doing all those dirty work for her. She wanted to controll her and Rustem especially Rustem being in a circle of their family which he could never escape from. In the end he betrayed Hurrem by braking the promise that he swore with his hand on the Quran.Mihrimah never loved Rustem. She only used him and treated him like an object.

While Selim might be a coward, Bayezid never seemed to understand that constantly pointing it out and trying to humiliate his brother infront of people every chance he got, it didn't just make Selim and Bayezid look bad but would also shame his family, especially Hurrem and Suleiman. It was so frustrating to watch cause you're waiting for him to finally learn and start being more smart and cunning, choosing his battles wisely. Sadly that never happened.

Bayezid is always angry, doesn't think before acting. He would not have made a good Sultan but Hurrem did a good job here. She soothed his wounded pride by making him feel needed and gave him an important role (even though it was just to console him).

Selim also wasn’t a good Sultan, he was literally a drunk and he was scared. I think Bayezid would have been a better Sultan since he is brave and he really cared for his children!

He acted impulsively, driven by his own wants and desires, rather than those of others; a trait which I could easily see running the empire into distress in no time. Furthermore, there's no evidence that Selim was "scared" or didn't love his children (the heck?). He was governing the exact same way Suleiman did in his later years, I don't know why people act like it was horrific.

In real life, she didn't pick sides. She loved both her princes and mihrimah equally. It was mihrimah and Rustem who supported Beyazid. But mihrimah never gave up, she still supported Selim and helped him to ascend throne after suleimans death and he in return made her Valide Sultan.

That is not the reason. Selim executed Beyazid simply because he( Selim) wanted the throne. Therefore he must eliminate all potential rivals. Just like Hurrem who engineered the death of Mustapha to ensure one of her sons took over the throne

Bayezid's execution came about because he actively rebelled against his father and then fled to the court of an enemy that then embarrassed his home nation by requiring a hefty payout for his return. He messed up very, *very* badly. And, once again, as always, there's no source that says Hurrem is the sole cause for Mustafa's death.

This video is so accurate in foreshadowing how Selim and Bayezid will be when they grow up and how their relationship will be like. Selim would always be a coward. And Bayezid biggest shortcoming was that he couldn't control his anger. Both of them were not fit to become a good Sultan specifically because of these shortcomings. Both of them were closet to age out of all the brothers but these two had the most hatred for each other as well.

Mehmet is a great older brother ❤ After he died, Mirimah tried to hold her brothers together, but of course it wasn't the same. Mehmet would have been a great sultan and protector of all his siblings 😢 In the series is understandable the rivalry between Selim and Bayezid, they make them only one year apart. But, seems Selim was 3 or 4 year older. Between them, sehzade Abdullah was born, but died shortly

She handled her childern well ❤ This isnt discrimination rather she made selim apologize too so there is evident equality and she approached middle ground rather than pinning it all on Bayazid and she consoled bayazid very smartly. Bayazid was a hot head from the start and this is what became the end of him and his sons Unfortunately. Although there was neglect and mistreatment on part of both parents( Suleman blamed bayazid in a later episode for all of Selims injuries while he saved Selim ). You cant blame Hurrem as she was busy fighting for the survival of his sons and their future and shielding them from conspiracies.

Wished if Hurrem, Mihirimah and Mehemet ( when alive ) had taken good initiatives to prevent Selim and Beyazid from the very beginning. However, I think Beyazid has more fault in their hostility, he cannot handle teasing from Selim. He always makes mistakes instead of focusing on making His father happy. Selim is very cruel but at least he didn't cross paths with his father and remained faithful. That's why he was Sultan suleiman's favourite

During this point in production, the actress playing Hurrem was not doing okay. She was going through a rather nasty divorce along with battling mental health issues plus having a child of her own. The stress she was under was causing her to lose quite a bit of weight and she wasn't taking care of herself. Eventually she needed to quit the series to focus on her physical and mental health. Hence why they came up with the whole 'Hurrem goes missing' arc. So they could buy time to get a new actress to play Hurrem.

Actually no. In reality, unlike the drama, she made sure all of her kids including her daughter get excellent education and skills. She stood by each one of them and protected them to the inch of her life. She always made sure that her kids would excel in life and chose the best for them. This show has dramatised her life to just a evil queen. In real life, she was the one who started what is known as sultanate of women with wide spread reforms and strong links to the rulers of the rest of the world. And made suleiman a stronger king. She really ruled as a queen.

For bayezid and selim the personality that are shown here is actually very true to real life. It wasn't her fault. She always tries to make them love each other that you will get to see further on in the series but it mostly depended on the boys
