my dad's first job was at Bailey's in 1948 when he was in high school. He worked there until he went into the Army in 1951.

It saddens my heart that y’all will be closing on the June 29th 2022. Bill we loved your West Indies salad and crab claws they were the best on the Gulf coast! I’m so sorry this world has come to not being able to find people to work. Many blessings to you and your family, your business will be truly missed.

I remember as a young boy, a few times a year, the family would drive all the way from Daphne, AL, to Bayley's restaurant. When there was a Julbilee on the east side of Mobile Bay we would pick the crab and Mom would make West Indies Salad. Great memories.

Hey Bill if you're getting these comments don't ever forget that everybody old school remember to loves you and Nita from the days that we did catering in north Alabama throughout the years thank you and your family for supporting us with work the ability and financing a lot of homes for families not only that but the organizations that your father was involved in who helped so many children disabled children so many people from that time people have no idea about your heritage but I do this is Robert your neighbor FYI you got a lot bigger big guy I thought I was a lot bigger than you until I shook your hand the other day and there's not many men who have a long strong hand bigger than mine because I'm 6'3 275 take care bill hope you get this and for everybody else who may be watching and listening characters built to a lot of years to sacrifice personality it's just a window the Bailey's are all character to the Bailey's saint s For The Memories as Bob Hope would have said

Is Bill Bailey still living? I was in Marine Corps Boot Camp @ Paris Island, S.C. with him in 1964.

Bill Bayley Sr., died in 1997 at age 80. His son, Bill Bailey Jr just passed away a few days ago. 😞

I'll work to the bus boy at baby's restaurant Bill Jr was my hero along with learning how to work and the hard times we were all brought through Mr Bailey senior helped my family finance my mother a car and I learned the meaning of hard work my mother was a waitress there and the first night that I was a busboy there I will never forget when I started busting tables in the main dining room I saw my mother come up to me and I said to myself be humble you're doing a great job because she's going to compliment you on how well you're doing well once she got next to me she told me boy if you don't start speeding up I'll fire you myself which shock to me into turning into cyber mode but then I was making too much noise flapping the big platter and everything together and she came back later and told me you're learning but tone the sound down and I'm going to talk to you when you get home I love my mother I love the Bailey it was a huge Growing Experience for me along with the big koi fish they had in their aquariums and all the characters who were all part of our big family back then it's definitely a Cornerstone later bill and I worked his iron workers on Theodore industrial canal at the huge ideal plant now or longitude short on patients and trying to enjoy every life Fall River has changed throughout the years but I'll never forget the icon of a Bailey restaurant my name is Robert Ellington and I'm proud to say it was part of my life

We got a take out order from Bayley's a while back and the two plates were unacceptable. $60.00 for two take out orders that were worth $5.00 each at most. We complained and they acted like they couldn't care any lesser. We've never went back and we live nearby and local.

Where can anyone find $5 plates in 2022? Maybe in the 90's. $5 won't buy you a beer at most restaurants. $5 will buy you extra tartar sauce. Thanks to politicians spending dollars like it's going out of fashion.

Oh before I forget Bill Bailey Jr I had a dog named lady a 117 lb female German Shepherd from Cincinnati who would probably give you five stars also because I used to take those gigantic 2-in thick filet mignon wrapped in bacon off the tables and take them home to her bus Boys Can Survive LOL lady ate better than any fat cat in Mobile thanks to the Baileys
