@@kevincushman6178 I mean all sports are rigged by the numbers. Gematria taught me this. I'm just a beginner at it. I recommend Simple Truth tv's channel and Gematrinator_85_ They're great truth tellers.
@@emmanuelmunshya4953 I agree and it wasnt a high quality look nor play at the end, but it wasnt the reason for the loss. Simply put, outplayed and more importantly, out coached.
@@operationNOBO I never understand these silly comments that throw logic out the window. Everything about the 19-0 run can be true and yet Baylor still could have easily won if the correct call was made on that last play. The type of look she got matters ZERO. Did she get fouled or not? Sounds like a solid majority would say it was a bad call. If the refs had made the right call than these goofballs would be saying the exact same thing to uconn "you cant leave it up to the officials".
Baylor had their chances to close out the game even after UConn's 19-0 run they came back, but like Dana White always preached, you can't leave decisions in the hands of the judges or in this case the refs.
The refs were garbage all night to both teams. But that call had to be made at that time. While there were no guarantees she would've hit both free throws to tie the game. On the freethrow line is where that game should have been decided. Integrity. Some refs need not apply. Smh. Straight garbage.
Exactly and it doesn’t make sense for Carrington of all people to be crying that refs swallowed the whistle cause she had very obvi fouls especially against Paige where there were no calls and Uconn didn’t complain they continued to play while getting beat down. Don’t cry about refs swallowing whistles when they were doing it the full game and expecting them to spit it out the last second when it doesn’t go your way
Just a couple of quotes 1) NBA star LeBron James tweeted, "Cmon, man!!! That was a foul!! 2) Of James' tweet, Auriemma said, "I probably doubt that in his career he's ever won a game and decided to give it back because he looked at it and went, 'That was a foul.'"
She is old person and from Texas. They're anti maskers down there so she is being dramatic about having to put one on. Notice how she has down by her chin when she is doing most of the talking.
Good point Mr. Eric..but again, It was good game, could've gone either way. So many non-call fouls were everywhere, but the whining from black Vogue Carrington was to much. Boohoo! Carrington, your good looks magic didn't get the foul.
Baylor is the one that brought the physical nature of the game, there were many places in the game that the referees let things ply on. I would also like to say that any team that 'lets one uncalled transgression determine the game deservers what they got. it could have easily gone the other way as well. count the number of times Paige was on her back and no fouls were called on Baylor. The refs allowed a very physical game to go on so what you get is the opportunity to 'blame the ref'.
I honestly think the women's game would be more entertaining if it were more physical. The biggest gripe with women's ball is the emphasis is completely on skill over athleticism. Fundamental ball is boring to watch whether it's men or women.
@@nahor88 Let’s not hope that never happens. UConn played UCF in this March and it was pretty much unwatchable. Players in their backs all game and never ending fouls. Teams will be fielded by bruisers not shooters.
Baylor was up by 10. Allowed a 19-0 UCONN run. And they missed 7 free throws. But naw, one bad call from the ref while they were behind is why they lost.
The refs missed a lot of calls especially in favour of Baylor. I personally don’t think it’s a foul but it’s not my choice. IMO Baylor is just a sore loser(cause frankly coach and carrington in the interview did not have good attitudes at allll) and they couldn’t come back after didi’s injury and could not stop Uconn’s 19-0 and it shouldn’t have been up to a ‘foul’ free throw for them to tie the game. Uconn won get over it
YOU CAN'T CRY ABOUT THAT LAST PLAY!......REFS WERE LETTING THEM BANG OUT THE WHOLE GAME, AND NO FOULS WERE CALLED.....SO THE REFS WERE CONSISTENT ON NOT CALLING A FOUL THE LAST PLAY. BAYLOR NEEDS TO CUT IT, BUT I GET IT.....
Yeah, LeFlop would call that foul. The King of Crying cant win without someone else bailing him out. Whether its a teammate, Silver, or the refs. He is the last person to be judging what a foul is. Personally I can see it going both ways.
I completely started watching ncaaw because of Paige and that opened me up to some other talented women in college. It would take her to get me to watch WNBA as well.
@@TheStranger513 yes sir brotha women's basketball is way more efficient then men's basketball.. Females waste no time on extra dribbles they pass the ball then cut thru the lane they way the game should b played!! Its ART man I can't stand watching dudes dribble the ball for 10 seconds just to miss a shot SMH
@@bobbycantu8187 Don't get me wrong. I thoroughly enjoy watching the NBA over WNBA. Only when it comes to college do I watch the women over the men lol.
That wasn’t a foul.. they put there hands up....stop with the weak foul call and stop complaining. No way you were making that over to taller players. Bad choice of shot. Lebron has no place to stand on calls.....flop man.
@@paoloborghi2024 The refs don't have different angles at that moment. And if different angles were used, then Baylor would have had 8-10 more fouls minimum called on their players just in the first half. The refs let them play the whole game. Baylor is easily the poorest losers I have seen so far in the tourney. All other coaches and players were gracious in defeat except these sore losers. Play the whole game and don't cry about 17 seconds. Glad they are at home watching.
@@jimoconnor8597 I have already explained my opinion in other videos. Not all the moments in basketball are the same. If you ever played competitive basketball you perfectly know that not all the moments are the same and THAT PRECISE final call was the most important of the entire game. To say "the whole game was rude and without many whistles" it's absolutely nonsense. That was the moment and that was important because quite irreversible with only few seconds remaining on the clock! Not calling THAT faul means to became negative protagonists of the game (the referees of course). If a referee becomes protagonist, not a good thing basically, he must AT LEAST be positive towards the appliance of his role (whistling correctly at least the final and most important call of the game)!
Yes she was. Good no call at the end of the game. And I do not like UConn women's basketball. If you're going to play physical our game. You have to take it at the last minute of the game as well. She should've disc that bowl out and let somebody have an open shop instead of trying to shoot a fade away with 20 pounds of fake hair extensions dragging her to the ground. Was this a beauty contest or basketball game.
@@karlk9316 I understand if they let them play physical all game I have no issue with that but if it was a blatant foul which it was c’mon now and I don’t even care about the women’s college basketball games period but that call had to be made.
Baylor missed 40 shots! That one play did not cost them the game. They need to resolve to come back next year and play a lot better. Victims do not win.
That was a bad possession by Baylor. They had like 17 seconds and basically just stayed stagnant with no ball or player movement, then expected to get bailed out with a foul call?
That was my thought as well. It seemed that whatever play Baylor drew up for that possession was taking an eternity to develop. What they ultimately wound up with was a shorter player trying to force a shot over two defenders who were much taller. And it appeared to me as if the offensive player actually initiated the contact; the two UConn defenders were both simply standing there with their arms outstretched.
@@camoss3724 Yeah, even on the replay, I honestly couldn't tell where the foul was. But if Baylor goes quicker and even if they throw up a bad shot and UConn rebounds, at least there's still plenty of time left for them to tie it up and either force OT or still have a chance to win in regulation. That was just a terrible possession by them.
Not a fan of either team, but look at the whole game, not just the play at the end. The ref's were letting them play, there was a lot of fouls that weren't called for both sides. I've seen games where the ref's control the outcome by blowing the whistle every five seconds and the game is nothing but foul shooting. I think the ref's did a pretty good job. Congrats to UConn, you got lucky.
It backfired on baylor the physicality they give to uconn and now askjng for a foul?hahahaha they can't take the physicality they give to uconn I guess
Baylor got away with a double dribble late in the game against Michigan. That would have changed the complexion of that game. I don't hear Mulkey complaining about that.
@@bloocco2393 different situation. When you know a player is out its prepared for. When you lose a key player in the middle of a game it can hurt the team for the moment
Coach Mulkey looks like she stars on The Walking Dead as one of the dead lol. Maybe she was zombified when she didn't call time out during the 19-0 run.
As a coach, two things come to mind. 1) I want officials to do their job, but I don’t want them determine the outcome, 2) more importantly don’t put yourself in a position to have the officials determine the outcome.
I played D1 and the refs set their tone pretty early especially when it comes to this deep in tourney play. As an athlete you dial it in and adjust...you're trained that way. Refs are part of the game. Period.
@@megoriold4166 I agree with you. Refs set the tone early. However, this was the end of the game... and it was a bad call. Supports the argument for a review. Bye...
Carrington: *flops to draw a foul on Westbrook and fouls Paige twice during Uconns run to take the lead and doesn't get called for it* Both her and Kim: *complain about the no call at the end of the game when their team got away with fouls the entire game* Me in my Mordo impersonation: "The bill comes due...."
There was just as many uncalled fouls on UCONN players during the course of the game. They missed many calls, why aren't we hearing out cries over those?
She drove the ball into a smothering double team because she wanted to be a hero. She could have dished it out to Moon for the wide open 3 and potentially won the game but selfishness took over. I didn't hear her or Kim give proper credit to Uconn either. Sore losers
Paige was fouled the whole game. The refs were at least consistent and not calling many fouls. Like Geno said, if they’re going to look at that call, than they would need to look at every call the whole game.
Whenever ESPN talks about females or womens basketball it is always hate in the comments. Men downplaying women!!! But this was a great representation of how great womens basketball really is if they are given the chance to show it.💪💪
@@jashanestone it was a joke bud. Did you look at the time stamp ? Zions little brother out there hooping. Better yet she looks more like Dominique Wilkins grandson
No basketball defender will ever defend vertically. That argument is BS. Try putting your hands up vertically right now at home. Now imagine defending a player and trying to contest vertically. Impossible. That was a good no call
Poor classless Baylor, Missed calls the whole game both ways, blame a missed call, then call out the official, you should call out the players who gave up a 19 point run. Go Connecticut.
Carrington couldn't catch up to Paige.. Both teams were aggressive and Baylor had their chances to win it n the second half. I know it's disappointing, but that's basketball.
That thumbanil photo of the coach is enough to scare even the toughest of people! got a feeling she'll be downing more than a few drinks than usual after that loss.
I feel like Baylor had the talent to still win the game without Didi. You're not always going to have all the best players on the court for the whole game
The young lady that took the last shot for Baylor should not complain about the call...she fouled Paige Bueckers several times and was never called for the fouls. Also on the play that the officials took several minutes to review, the UCONN player was fouled and the Baylor player was not called for an obvious over the back foul.
People tend to prefer Women College Basketball to the WNBA because the coaches and girls tend to be cuter and more feminine. Not quite as many over the top tatted up, butch women like in the WNBA.
It was a great game. Yes I believe there was a foul at the end and I saw many uncalled fouls throughout the game that was not called as well..you allowed a 19-0 run that cost you this game. Don't cry about how a uncalled foul cost you a Final.Four Appearance.
team captain Didi goes out when up by I think by 9 due injury, then Uconn makes 19-0 run. Then no call foul at at the end. Horrible ending to a great game.
2004 Midwest Region Norman Oklahoma Baylor VS Tennessee the same ending but this time Kim Mulkey was pleading for the foul "NOT TO BE CALLED" Because it put Tasha Butts of Tennessee on the free throw line where she made both shots giving The Lady Vols a71-69 win. It happens, and you can't have it both ways.
Please, Baylor's coach didn't call one timeout on that 19-0 run. Paige was getting hammered for uconn so no fouls being called for both teams. Baylor missed free throws at the end of the game so please lets not blame the ref. If it happened to uconn people would be saying the ref cant call that with seconds left. Let them play..Uconn is the better team. PERIOD.
So disappointing for a supposed big time coach to go down crying like this. This was a physical game from the tip off. The refs let them play. I shouted at the TV so many times when Baylor was hacking UConn. They were pushing and throwing elbows like it was their job. How about showing some class to your kids? They were just in one of the best games anyone could ever watch for NCAAW. This should have been about that and not sounding like a sore loser. Congrats to all the girls in this game, it was epic and showed that no matter how bad you get down (both sides) if you fight hard enough and believe in yourselves you can come back. So sad to see all this turn in to a blame game.... go back to the beginning and count the fouls that weren't called before you call out a single play.... such a bad way to show these kids how they should move forward and act in life....
We need to look at the entire game and not try to blame a loss on one potentially missed call. Baylor only shot 39% from the field, and 22% of their 3-point shots. Make 1 more 3-point shot and they win. Practice shooting so you are not behind by one point at the end of the game, ladies. Then a non-call won't make any difference. In this instance the missed call is just an excuse for poor shooting during the game.
Probably a foul, and we'll never know if she would have hit the free throws, which would have only tied it. (If you get all ball, you don't have to be vertical, but she seemed to get some body.) Thing is, Baylor also got some favorable calls down the stretch. Good game, tough loss, but I think the better team with n, if barely.
Well our guys dominated Gonzaga, Mulkey will be back for sure, just wish the right call was made, we probably would’ve made our run in the women’s big dance.
Chick Hearn would say Uconn is the Boston Celtics of Women basketball no referee going to call that a foul on the last possession. Baylor needed a girl to do a Kobe Bryan fall away to win?
When DiDi Richards went out with injury, it was a DEVASTATING blow to BAYLOR. But, that "no-call" FOUL has to do with The Coaches MULKEY & A. They might as well feud.
Baylor was in the advantage collectively on no calls or bad calls... you can't blame the last one that didn't go in their favor when all others did. The charges at the end had more of a negative impact for them... and the Baylor coaches decision to not call a timeout during the 19-0 runnup is just nuts. So yeah, don't cry Baylor.
That's why you win the game and leave NO doubt at the end! PERIOD. Don't let it come down to the last possession. Handle business early and mid - then close the close games out. Take the game out of the refs hands. Good job UCONN
