Dennis and I caught these in a few hours no birds required just skill lol. This type of fishing ain't easy but they have some there you just have to time it right either they'll bite or not.
Our worse day has been 6-15 speckled Trout.
We got lucky but they are tricky to catch. The fish are 12”-14” no big fish but fun close to the house. These fish just want soft plastics on the bottom. If you live on this side of the lake and plan to fish the trestle can't beat $25 for the rest of the season unlimited launches but no live bait for those guys. One short no wake 2-3 miles your at the lake. Guys I caught some last week at the mouth of the Tchefuncte River in Madisonville and never got a chance to get back to them with the strong east winds last few days. So they can definitely have some stacked in the channel. First time in many years I caught 9 keeper speckled trout.
Get out and give it a shot swamplures and matrix has been doing work!!
