optimus prime in the first movie:life is beautiful! optimus prime in literally every other movie:Give me your face. Piece of tin. Time to find out*literally declines an offer of peace*.
7 years old me watching optimus prime head stabing, shooting head without mercy, tear apart face, take off shockwave eye, taking off fallen face, hook megatron face with axe untill ripped off from body and stabbed lockdown until split : *this is fine*
very original of you, you people really forget how fucking mental these decepticons are they kill humans for shits and giggles and you expect prime to just let them live?
@@ox_trueprotagonistchrisred9085 well in generation 1 transformers it didn't but they messed up the next chapter before it even started with galvatron and rodimus prime with unicron
"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings." What Optimus meant by that was freedom of the humans from suffering the Decepticons' tyranny or prevent the fate of Cybertron happen again on Earth. "We cannot let the humans pay for our mistake!"
@@hideofreakingkojima5457 freedom is the right of all sentient beings so he can't put them in prison so War Crime Time still better than the other Optimist with their child soldiers Shia LaBeouf was and his twenties
TF3: "The day will never come when we forsake this planet and its people" TF4: "We're leaving this planet and it's people" Beautiful character development
The alliance also fought alongside them as allies, before turning into a corporate-greedy and revenge-seeking task force that hunted down, betrayed, and fucking MURDERED each and every one of the autobots (who had been protecting them for 7 years from something that wasn't going to leave the Earth if they left) until only 5 of them were left. People blame Prime, but the humans fucking deserved the Chicago attack and what happened in TF4.
It gets worse when you find out Bayverse Prime almost got friendly fired *MULTIPLE* times in the comics because soldiers who didn't know better would think he was a 'Con after seeing his brutality in combat.
@@jamesr5436 would a drone talk ,would a drone be worried about other drones, would a drone grunt ,would a drone feel pain, You get my point they are not drones So Optimus in tfp is definitely more innocent than the movies but he's not completely innocent
We know how the alternate ending for Dark Of The Moon Megatron was sincere, but here we don't. Megatron could have been lulling OP into lowering his guard, or hoping to trick him to let him leave then Megs would strike back another day. For Megatron he can't be trusted, not after all he's done to Earth and Cybertron.
"We don't need you anymore. We can create you" This line should hits hard, realising what you've done so far was only to be disregarded and instead used as a "research material" At least in the end the bald guy turned to good
To be fair, when you're fighting mass murderers, terrorists and torturers: that's the best course of action. What, you want him to get all Steven Universe with a literal Robot Hitler?
@@ryandean9171 I honestly think that Megatron was trying to trick Optimus into turning around so he could blast him in the back and tear him apart like he just did to Sentinel moments earlier. With the tone of his voice I didn’t even know he was offering a truce the first time I watched the movie.
@@sergeantwasp6018 that's very much in line with Megatron's character, he knew he had absolutely no chance against Prime in his state, so he'd have to trick him in order to win.
He is prime dude not a teenager. Primes know how to control their emotions but bayverse prime is nowhere close to it. I wonder if he had beared matrix of leadership. It doesn't look like he had
I think some of his violence is narratively forgivable. He was defending himself in TF1 and fighting Megatron. In the TF2 forest fight he was outnumbered and the guy whose face he took off was twice his size, and the fallen was known for coming back so he had to be thorough by destroying the spark. By number three he was sick of Decepticons and it could be argued that he was executing Sentinel and Megatron for War Crimes. By number four he lost his friends to demented science experiments and was left with three toddlers and Hound. By number five he had been mind controlled and just woke up to *another* MacGuffin battle. He needs a damn nap.
@@meh5337no, whenever he got a chance, Megatron always did what Megatron was known for, killing things. Such examples include Jazz, Jetfire (indirectly), and the old guy in the final movie. Whereas Optimus had stated that he'd kill the scientists in Age of Extinction, yet low and behold (after causing some chaos) he spared them, despite why they'd done to Ratchet, his only Cybertronian medic and oldest friend.
0:40 imagine finishing a long day in the Factory, being paid a few US Dollars, driving home and suddenly you’re in Heaven or Hell thanks to an 85 ft-tall motorized unicycle with authority issues
Me after watching Optimus brutally split Lockdown in half: THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT! THATS WHY HE'S MVP!! THATS WHY HE'S THE GOAT! _THE GOAAAAAAT!!!!_
Legit wanted him to dismantle sentinel for doing Ironhide dirty like that, i wanted him to skin him piece by piece until hes an endoskeleton and a spark
I like to think of Bayverse Prime as a completely different and un-related character to G1, where the more he fought he realized not everybody deserved mercy, and decided to kill more and more, basically he isnt as wise since he kills more, but its just me
It's not that he isn't wise, in my interpretation, he is just heavily traumatized with the war, and that just slowly converted him into a war machine that wants to make his enemies suffer the way his allies did when they died (Ironhide comes to mind) This can be seen when he swiftly lands a killing blow on Bonecrusher before he can agonize too much about the loss of his arm in the first movie, to outright beating Shockwave to death with his bare hands on the third. He slowly became more brutal.
Was ripping off Fallen’s face before tearing out his spark and destroying it in front of him really necessary that just felt like sadism on Prime’s part.
Optimus revives Sentinel Prime and he repaid him by betraying him, killing his old friend Ironhide, and destroy the very planet Optimus swore to protect because of Sentinel's "Freedom is everyone's right"
"Why would anyone ever join the Decepticons? The Autobots are way nicer!" **Optimus rips one of the Decepticon's face off while it begs him not to kill it.** "Ah....... I can see he went with the 'Leave none alive' route."
@@_AZBT_ASHUTOSHKUSHWAHA-vm3fhthat was blackout, he was killed in the same movie by lennox with a grenade launcher. The guy who had his face ripped in half was grindor.
I don't mind Optimus like this because the Bay films are the most realistic Transformers could ever be. In a realistic Cybertronian War they're going to be trying to kill each other, there's going to be Human casualties and property damage, there's going to be mistrust, hatred, and fear of the Transformers. Despite being violent towards the cons, I still see much of the OG Optimus in this one, he's still kind, protective, and wise, he's still a role model. Just one who's more of a soldier then most versions of Primes.
@@Warlord_Megatron TFP Optimus is part of the aligned continuity and follows on from the High Moon Studios games, he's a warrior first, both the games and the show made that abundantly clear, moreso the games though since the show needed to keep things more PG, but make no mistake, Aligned Continuity Prime is no pacifist.
@@Starvona well, Lockdown is a neutral bounty hunter. He just wants Optimus, and he'll stop at nothing to get him. Ratchet just happened to be in his way
Is it me or are people expecting prime to not to kill anyone in a war and just stun then and ask them to join the AUTOBOT CAUSE sounds a little...idk...stupid now if we're talking about face ripping that's a different story
I like how people are like "G1 Optimus Prime would never do this" but completely ignore Optimus killing the Decepticons in the Animated movie. Also I don't remember the Decepitcons murdering humans when Central City was under their control.
We're talking about the how he's killing. Sure Optimus would kill if he has to, it's war. But going out of his way to make his enemies suffer is something he would never do, and if he did he'd take his ion blaster to his own processor in guilt
Still my favourite prime and no one will ever persuade me differently. My childhood optimus. This guy is a grizzled war vet who thought he'd found a home but the war followed him and he has had ENOUGH
To me, this is realistic. Prime had enough of watching his Autobots die from the hands of the Decepticons. Optimus doesn't treat his allies as his henchmen or soldiers, he treats them like they're his own family, losing one of them hurts him a lot. This also shows us how Optimus is a mighty Autobot and how capable he is to be a warrior. Never underestimate the power of a Prime.
I've watched countless Primes, but Bayverse Prime is undoubtedly my favourite. I always saw him as the anti-hero the world needs- unafraid to take the lives that aren't deserving of it. Plus he looked WAY TOO cool. TF 1 2 3 Prime designs were peak perfection. 4 and 5 Knight-primes were also beautiful but close second.
We can't blame Optimus as he went through HELL like betrayal, got his friends killed, died himself and fought for MILLIONS of years so letting out his anger is completely understandable.
In reality, DOTM was a full on war movie. Prime being the wau he is makes sense. The other movies give small brawls but DOTM is legitimately what the war would've looked like on Cybertron.
When Optimus Prime is awakened in 'Age of Extinction', he yells 'Sam, run!' and then in 'The Last Knight', it's confirmed that Sam is dead. What a bummer 😔
Optimus Prime's final battles are pure examples of how a superhero can be ruthless, show no mercy, take life and yet still be heroic; his brutal methods in taking down Megatron, Sentinel Prime, The Fallen and lockdown should be the golden standard that all superhero characters follow, if Batman, Superman, Spider-Man and others like them just put down their threats the way Optimus Prime has they wouldn't be dealing with that much severe consequences from the devastating aftermath of their villains!
That's exactly why people love heroes like Batman and Spiderman, they don't kill their villians. They both see the good in them, and Batman has changed some of his criminals and villains lives in a good way
@megakirbo4250 Clayface, Harley quinn, Norman Osborne and I think killer croc are rare exceptions to the rules; They're not the ones I'm referring to, it's joker, bane, carnage and others like them that should be put down in a lethal matter!🔥💯😁👍
The bayverse transformers is how transformers should be displayed on the big screen cause i wouldnt want to see a bunch of awesome robots siting around talking to their enemies.
Fall of Cybertron Optimus: Gives every decepticon a second chance after Megatron is defeated. Bayverse Optimus to every decepticon: SLAUGHTER IS THE ONLY OPTION
Bay nailed it on Optimus being that modern badass who is tired of the cliche no murder allowed hero BS, to this day this is honestly my personal fave best Optimus PRIME.
I always thought of the Bayverse Tranformers like biblical angels, they are thought of as these benevolent protectors who would never cause harm when in reality they're meant to be brutal warriors.
Difference between optimus prime and almost every hero. Dude's a KILLER. his mindset to killing is the same as goku to fighting. He won't think twice. You don't want to be the bad guy in his presence.
Imagine losing to your life long enemy after getting jumped, coming back to life and having your main life force being stolen, and watching the planet you tried to protect so many times start to get destroyed by a former gos from your planet. Your mentor returns, betrays you, and kills one of your best friends. Tbf id go apeshit and psychopathic too if i had to deal with this shit for any longer
Remember Bayverse prime has lost more Autobots then Any Other Prime has... Lets compare with TFP prime... In TFP optimus Lost:- Cliff Jumper and thats it.... In Bayverse he lost:- Jazz , Iron Hide , Ratchet , que and many more.... His Rage Started Building Up the more of his kind died... In First Film he was a Calm Warrior and not a murderous psycho. Because in first film there were basically no recent deaths only death happened during the climax and it was jazz... In DOTM decepticons killed que without mercy.. so he did the same to them...
In ROTF Jetfire had sacrificed himself to stop the fallen... There was no negotiation possible Against the fallen. So he ripped his heart apart and killed him. Because he is responsible for countless deaths.. and wanted to cause billions more deaths... Also Simply stabbing the fallen isn't a good idea. Because the decepticons could have ended up reviving him again like they did to Megatron... So he gave them no chance and fully killed the fallen
& he didn't Accept Megatrons offer in DOTM because Forgiving Megatron for causing the destruction of Chicago is the dumbest thing he can do... Why would he forgive Megatron when meg literally was responsible for deaths of countless humans during the destruction of Chicago??
The weird thing is, I always thought that the “who would you be without me” scene started with Megatron shooting first and wrote it off as them both understanding what was about to happen. I just today realized that Megatron only brought his gun up when Prime went for the axe, and barely even fired, considering there isn’t even a sound accompanying the shot.
Personally I'd prefer just finishing them off entirely instead of taking them prisoners or prolonging their suffering. Or worse, talking them into joining the Autobot cause. But hot damn he has the best fatalities. Even Bee punching Soundwave in the chest with his arm cannon and blowing his head off looked nothing, and that was brutal.
@@Warlord_Megatron ah yes the same "mentor" that ran over 3 decepticons in top speed and then shot the wounded to death, beat megatron until he couldnt even move. very "composed" indeed
@@orhandalegend The fact that optimus could never get himself to kill megs proves his composed nature. And do you remember when ratchet was torturing a vehicon cuz he was on synthen and OPTIMUS scolded him for inflicting unnecessary harm? Do you remember when optimus consoled bee that he is not useless and assured him that they will soon find his tcog? Don't you remember when he got arcee's back when they were unable to reach base due to those metal eater bugs? Don't you remember the time when he reprimanded wheeljack for endangering his team? Yes he did beat up Megatron many times but always gave him the chance to change and never killed him. And if I recall correctly, the 3 cons you're talking about are none other than drones?
I am so amazed at every other version of optimus prime to not be extremely pissed after fighting a war for MILLIONS OF YEARS, no wonder he is pissed off and wants to stop it, dude literally watched his planet die of war and still the war continues millions of years after the war started.
I don't care if Bayverse Optimus is beyond ruthless for his character, he's still the most entertaining to me. After all that he went through and all that he lost, anyone would be ruthless against the ones responsible for it. He was still kind and sensible with the humans. Not to mention, he's supposed to be a soldier in Bayverse, not a hero. Soldiers kill, aggressively. Bayverse Optimus had the most interesting characterisation, the best fights, the most badass one liners and the most badass scenes.
I think more people would've let "war crime Prime" slide if he didn't drop psychopathic one-liners for half of them. The brutality is one thing, but even the original movie in '86 had him show up and immediately wipe a whole battalion of Decepticons by himself, which for all intents and purposes should've been more broken bodies for Unicron to take control of given that a lot of the autobots were killed in presumably the same manner. Lines like "any last words/give me your face/you DIIIIIE" could all be replaced with even some corny shit like "it didn't have to come to this/this ends now/this is not your world to rule" and everything about it would still feel like Prime, even if his methods are little more..."violent" to put it lightly.
