This was definitely my era. I loved it. It’s so sad to think that kids are watching more TikTok than TV these days, and as a result Blue Peter will be on its way out soon.
Richard Marron says in his book this episode was a nightmare to direct as the past presenters just wouldn't behave themselves, think he described it as like herding children around!
You'll notice they'd just spent a lot of money on a bespoke title sequence with the presenters in a hot air balloon, which was hastily re-edited to take Bacon out. Pure luck he was at the very end of that panning shot of the four of them so they could cut away from it early...
Late response (thanks RU-vid for not notifying me!) but thanks for that reply, I didn't know that! From this video I thought it was just for the 40th anniversary.
Mark curry looks the same here then when he presented blue Peter and Peter ducon looks the same here as well from when he presented blue Peter back in the 1980st and where is lessiey and Jane ellis looks the same as was when she prestend blue Peter
I was 24 and had a 4 month old son. I remember all the presenters back toJohn Noakes, Peter Purves, Sarah Greene, Janet Ellis (Sophie's mum), Peter Duncan and Simon Groom. Having said that Blue Peter wasn't my favourite programme, but I watched it because there was nothing else worth watching.
was not a fan of richard bacon on blue peter konnie huq and katy hill were my favourites and stuart miles was good too what a fool richard was to do what he did but the show survived and continues today rip caron keating @
Caron Keating very sadly died in 2004 aged just 41. She was my favourite presenter and by far the most beautiful which made a slightly boring kid's programme worth watching.
