Tony had such a relaxed and gentle presenting style, and he never patronised his audience. His shows gradually changed with time to stay relevant too. He did really cool things that he made look easy and encouraged kids to be creative. Great stuff.
I love the way they very often start the programme by typing something into the keyboard, as if recognising the creative potential of computers, and then totally ignore them for the rest of the programme, in favour of doing a misty skyline with pastels, or some such thing.
When I first saw the music video for Bridge To Your Heart by Wax (from around the same time), my first thought was; “This whole video could have been clips from Hart Beat!”
I don't really remember when Joanna had blonde hair, I remember when it was dark. I used to enjoy watching her and Margot, they did some very interesting art.
