A man that was far far too good for the BBC he was up there with Terry Wogan as the greatest DJs on radio. I remember him coming to the BBC he was a breath of fresh air and he kept it up for decades. He was a legend and so loved by the people a honest lovely man. RIP Steve and the millions are now saying you will be sadly missed but always remembered and thank you for being by our sides while we grew up with your music.
Sorry to here of Steve's passing. Had the radio on all day during the late 80s just to listen to radio one Because when he came on you only had 3 hours left at work and we would be leaving and heading home. loved the pub singer. and mr angrey. spot on . did he talk the bullshit jag they pushed on us a few years ago. just asking no malice ment. RIP Steve loved your afternoon banter.
Steve Wright was so much part of everyone’s life over the years young and old, and it wasn’t just about the music he played, his show was full on entertainment, in fact that was for me the whole reason for listening in! From Angry of Mayfair, Ok Yah, Ask Elvis and so many more other brilliant characters that made his show way way above anything else! We have truly lost a national treasure at such a relatively young age, may he rest in peace!
