Yo. Thx 4 the vids! I've been watching them nonstop learning what I can. Got a old Schwinn Chopper Style I'm new in the hobby. Blew my last engine due to a Muffler leak
I do have a scar on my arm though from driving back from the pub when the chain locked up around a corner. Buy a good tensioner and make sure alignment is perfect.
Good call.I had the 'spring-tensioner' allow a lock-up and wreck too.I use a sprocket instead of the plastic pulley to align the chain off the frame mount tensioner.I had it on the spring, but rough dirt roads and sudden engine let=off let the chain pile and seize.Still healing after 3 months.@@milolouisedit=This seize happened on 3 DAY old pavement,so it was smooth to cars, and Not bodies.
5 months later, i have seen about 30 coppers, not one incident. though sometimes i switched motor off other times i pedalled. Still, build one of these at your own risk
You have GOT to order and test the brand new California motorbikes wildcat avenger 85!!! I KNEW they were about to drop some new goodies. Let gooooo. But seriously, my interest with their design for the jug is peaked.
Hey Good Morning 🎉 to you..! I'm new to watching your channel.. But not knew to Two Stroke engine's, I've blown up and melted down a few dirt bikes.. Heat is the Destroyer of two and four stroke engines.. Motorcycle mechanics have told me, that two stroke engines don't like constant RPMs.. I'm building a two stroke mountain bike to ride mostly around the subdivision where I live at 8,000 feet in the Colorado Rockies.. I'm still buried in Snow ❄️🌨️ Keep up the good work on your Adventures and Videos 🎉🎉
Thanks for the video LA.The motor sounded so smooth, and thank you for not constantly revving up and letting off like so many do while riding.A smooth speed shows the actual power of an engine without distracting by variations.I too find the rpm's an engine 'likes' and let it run there.
Do you think it would benefit from an expansion chamber like the MZ 65 or the LB5000 just curious I want to do one of these big motors I don't like the Y D100 what I like to call the yard dog 100 and have you heard of the avenger 85 yet just curious nice bike nice ride........ride safe brother
If you take the end cap off the exausust sounds amazing. Sounds Like a dirtbike with lotta high end with cheap carb and with air filter carb sounds like a chopper with more low end power at 33mph
True screamer there, if you can keep it from falling apart, lol. Not criticizing, I have one myself, but they do have a hit and miss track record. Phantom 85 that is.
which needle setting are you at? I dropped mine one notch to lean it out too. second notch from top now. I'm scared that I might be running too lean and run the engine hot.
Hi ! Any news about this BT100 V2 ?? How's it work now ?? Reed valve is ok ?? Your opinion about this BT100 V2, because maybe I try this stuff, but need your opinion about realibility, overheating issues, maybe carb jetting and settings, thanks.
Your videos have helped me a lot. Thanks. What fenders do you use on the Cranbrook? The Wildcat has been giving me some trouble. I just can not get rid of the four stroking. Needle is lean, spark plug is hot? Any ideas?
Man i got a ebay kit for 90 bucks free shipping.. all the upgraded hardware triple 40.. no crazy ebay photos just the motor in the photos.. so i was surprised when everything went together like butter.. i got o cheap expansion pipe with the springs.. 35 bucks.. the bike is a early 90s scott 26 so its super light.. 40t sprocket .. after i put the bt carb on it and dumped the bofang i have a super reliable bike 0 4strokeing all for less then 150 bucks all in
I'm looking for recommendations on a motor just for 5 mile round trip to work in Southern Indiana. I don't need speed just something dependable. Any suggestions? TIA
Hey LA weld up a fat belly pipe to that engine. Just cut off the connection from that junk stock exhaust as well as a cheap fat belly pipe and weld the two together and see if you have a power jump. Bet you double the pulling power and that engine comes Alive! Thx again for great vid
For reliability, I do a complete teardown and remove any casting flash or anything else that can break loose. I swap the crank bearings for good quality 6202 C3 bearings (C3 offers a bit more clearance for thermal expansion) and install good quality double lip oil seals (be sure to apply grease!), true and balance the crank (you can purchase one ready to go through either Smolik Performance or DLH Performance), and make sure all mating surfaces (intake, exhaust and cylinder base) are as flat as possible using either a flat file or sandpaper on glass. I also use Permatex motoseal to assemble the crankshaft halves.
Hey I am having a problem with a yd 100 not wanting to run or even idle it will start with choke on but once you shut choke off it will idle hight then dies what can I do to fix this problem.
Great video thank you so much, question for you, I currently have a motorized bike/two-stroke, I would like to put up the electrical similar to an E bike, I want to hardwire the front and tail light, possibly some accent lights on the frame, I’m sure this is possible, but I just don’t know how to go about it, do I need a 12 V battery, what would you suggest?
Hey im having a issue with my clutch when u disengage it it will disengage the clutch and then while the motor is running it will randomly engage the clutch while the clutch is pulled in
brother if i press the clutch and im able to pedal but when i let go its locked does it mean my motor is done? is brand new and wasnt even warmed up when it locked soo i dont think zeized is the problem ? help please ive been looking for videos of someone with the same problem but havent been lucky
Hey I’m thinking about getting a camera but don’t know much about them, what camera do u use in the beginning of the video where u can see your whole self riding? Is it a 360 camera? What one do u have I’m trying to buy one for my motorized bicycle videos. Thank you!
I was given what we Thought was a YD-100 but it was base ported semi-round instead of the v-ish shape. You'll have to see it slow seize in my video.I Can NOT find a cylinder with that shape other than the CDH-110,but it has a 52mm piston, and it did Not fit the base by 1/4-1/3 " width of just the stud base.Maybe you know a cylinder with that space but maybe a 47-48mm piston,as I compared mine and it's so small to the 52mm piston.?.
No one in there right mind would by that motor 😂its way to high let's be real everything bbr has is way over price and don't get me started on the shipping fee😂😂😂
I cannot stress this enough, beginners if you read this, you do not want to spend $250 on bbr or bicycle engines or anything else, a cheap $100-150 kit on amazon/ebay will give you about the same results. This one has better cooling yes, but not more power. You can get a kit without motor, and buy and LD90 for about 4hp with upgrades. Do porting work (match case ports, widen them, match intake and exhaust ports etc) for more hp. Upgrade head for better cooling. I got a wildcat ultra minarelli 6hp stock motor that I matched case ports, should be 7-8hp with jog pipe and nibbi19. Video on my channel tho
