I wash them normally, usually cool water so I don't shrink my shirts and just gentle dry! :)

Since I can’t afford a circuit press right now what can I use in the mean time?

Your home iron would work for you just great and another options I have been using lately is the HTVRONT heat press. A little less expensive and I think does very well. But I understand the cost of the crafty investment sometimes is difficult!
