Beach Boys Don't worry baby Live Japan 2012 Live At QVC Marine Field,Chiba August 16th 2012 Brian Wilson Mike Love Al Jardine Bruce Johnston David Marks Jeff Foskett lead vocals
take a listen to susan cowsill's terrific version of this song! she is sister of john cowsill who has been the drummer for the beach boys for nearly 25 years up until recently!!
With all due respect (and I love their music) Brian is NOT a musical genius. Like Billy Joel , Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney and Elton John they write pop music. Usually for vocals, guitar and keyboards. All very gifted and talented, but not geniuses. Men like a Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Handel, Schumann, Haydn, Vivaldi, etc. were truly brilliant. They wrote operas, orchestral music, string quartets, choral music and more. They wrote for every instrument and without the benefit if any technology. No ability to playback or vocal enhancement! Just ponder that. BTY, Much if Brian’s chords and progressions were directly lifted from the Four Freshmen a great vocal quartet fro the 1950’s.
@@denniselber9195 Well Denny boy, that's simply your unsolicited opinion. I'm not the only one who has said that. Many musicians that I respect, and have succeeded in the music biz, have said it. Every lick, lyric, chord and progression has been played by someone somewhere. It's ALL passed on. It's not just Brian Wilson and the 4 Freshman, Mr. "God's gift to interpreting who's a genius in the music world". Give me a fking break you douche! Tell your bullshit to producer Don Was. You know who that is, don't you? Besides, who in the fk asked you? When I want your advice I'll contact you, so stay out of my posts. I don't like YOU and don't want to be penpals. So, STFU! Now, here's my unsolicited opinion you should always remember. Don't start any unnecessary shit and there won't be any. Shoo fly!
@@dzfz2100 I’ve Ben a big fan if Brian Wilson since 1963 and love his music. I think he writes great melodies. There is no question however, that he lifted a lot if his chordal structures fro the Four Freshman a fifties Vick group. Brian us an extremely talented guy. He is not.a studio level pianist or bass player. My point was the term “genius” is employed entirely too much and nit necessarily accurate. Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Mozart , Handel May have been geniuses. They wrote for orchestras, string quartets, chamber music, operas and small and large chiral groups, all without the benefit of modern technology or even the ability to record and play back. No vocal enhancements or over dubbing. By the way, I’m a classically trained musician with an honors degree in music. I’ve done lots of studio work and commercials. We still live a free country and I don’t need anyone’s permission to give an informed opinion, We all have that right, What are your musical credentials?
Jeffrey Foskett - simply one of The BEST, and an important figure in The Beach Boys' legacy. You inspired SO many and will be missed dearly. Your lead, and what this song makes people feel combined - tears, man.
Unfortunately, time kills all music even the Beachboys. Who listens to Gershwin or Handel anymore except for a select few. How many radio stations can you find either of these aforementioned greats on. Few if any. Ask a 16 year old if they even heard of Gershwin. Sorry but the Beachboys will also disappear into obscurity just like all of their predecessors. What happened to the Dorsey brothers and all the great vocalists from the 30s and 40s? Where can you hear them?
I absolutely love this one. Takes me back to the 60s in Cardiff, met my husband in 1969 dancing to songs like this. Been married 50 years this year omg can't believe it.
when this was a new song, I used to play it over the loudspeaker at the public pool where I worked. I still to this day have people thanking me for playing the great soundtrack as part of their summer time experiences.
That’s Brian Wilson on the keyboards. Sad to see him not singing the lead. He really had his troubles in this life. We had the same troubles but at a much lower pay grade. Funny not funny. Best harmonies in the music industry.
Jeff Foskett sings lead on this one and Brian Wilson does back up. You can hear Brian's voice. Jeff also does the higher notes on the other songs where its difficult for Brian to do. Its always seemless. Its just great to hear these songs by the surviving members of the Beach Boys 50 + years in. I think its selfless of Brian to let his friend Jeff help with the vocals to keep it sounding reasonably fresh. Great song!
@@stuartperry8141 He did through 1965 and sporadically in the 1970's and fairly regularly through 1985, then was quite scarce on a live stage after that.
One of the best songs ever from the Beach Boys. I was born in 1946 and grew up with the most beautiful music ever for teenagers. I am not religious, but thanks God I was born in that year.
I grew up listening to The Beach Boys as they have been around for well over 50 years. I loved all their songs and still sing to myself many of their songs today. Man, it is a Bitch Getting Old.
Yeah, but just think of all the old memories and good times we had in Jr. High and high school listening to these on our AM radios and playing 45's on our "record players"!
I am only 28 years old but I just love the Beach Boys so much. I love all the oldies from the 50s and 60s. Today's "music" sucks so much. Why can't music be good like it was back then? Nowadays its just all autotuned bullshit, or some rapper talking about his "bitches, hoes, money, bling bling, weed, going to duh club, drinkin forties." God I hate this generation today.
I'm 30 and couldn't agree more. I'd rather listen to music from the 60's, 70's, 80's than "hit" garbage like Lil' Wayne, Nicki Minaj, etc. Music back in our parents day was legit music from the soul.
Nice to see David back in the band after decades - Jeff is amazing on the tenor lrad, and so is John Cowsill on drums (a really talented drummer indeed). I just feels right, after all the tragedy, to see David come back, and I hope he's healthy again. God bless these lads, for all of the pure enjoyment they've given us.
What can you say great song fantastic live rendition, don`t forget these guys ain`t getting younger, im 68 and was bought up in my teens to these sounds.
2022 still watching this beautiful song I saw The Beach Boys back in the 80s before we lost Dennis and Carl and it was the best concert I ever went to!!! RIP Dennis and Carl your missed so much
Still as awesome as when I was in the 8th grade and played this on my parents 8-track tape player for all my cheerleading gal pals!!!!!🎶🎶🎶👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥🔥💗💗💗😂😂😂
I was fortunate to have met Jeffrey Foskett . Extremely humble and talented person who actually was Brian Wilson’s musical director. RIP my musical brother. You will be sorely missed…🙏
They’re all up there but their age really shows in this video. Technology and young talented musicians behind them are providing the sound. I’m taking nothing away from The Beach Boys. Great songs, accomplishments and their music stays young forever. This looks like the Old people’s home show.
Mad Greek I'm so glad and complete when I witness the best music in my life.millions of people will never experience the Beatles the beach boys. Bill withers. Mini ripperton four tops Bob seger and the silver bullet band Chicago's own buckinghams.I'm 62 years and I loved all kinds of music even Frank Sinatra Sammy Davis so anyone born in the 50s 60s 70s 80s even some 90s music today will never be the same.thank God for George Benson Steppenwolf foghat shirley bassey dusty Springfield.music wise I sure was blessed
