In this session i target Milford on Sea during a gap in the weather and for what i predict to be a ray friendly tide. The winter storms have scoured and changed the profile of the beach and everything feels different. With wind and rain i get the chance to try out my new Reed 2 piece suit and early signs are very positive for this waterproof cold weather kit.

No rays this time, but I know you won't give up.🤔🤔 Informative, enjoyable and educational, as always. 🧑‍🎓😃 Thanks for sharing.👍 Wishing you all the very best with your charter courses. I'm sure you'll achieve your goal.👍👍 All the best, take care and stay safe.😷🙊

Hi Ian, I’m enjoying the training which can only be a good thing in the crowded Solent area. I was a little disappointed with the lack of a ray but then even more determined to get back out and chase them down. Where would the fun be if it was easy? 😂😉🎣👍🏻

Great video as always . How do you get on with the mag thumb screw on you penn fathoms as i have read that it can dig into your left hand .
@seaangling
@seaangling Год назад
That is the reason for setting the mags on every cast, they are very easy to knock on a notch or 2. There is a flat disc conversion for about £12 that I have thought of doing.

I went out past couple of nights/early morns (Aberystwyth) only for a couple of hours, had 5 whiting on Friday night, including my first ever double shot!!!( only started fishing last august lool) and I went out early morning Sunday and disappointedly only managed one whiting but it was a gorgeous colour ,really reddish copper never seen one this colour all winter, I even took photos and checked it wasn't something else (poor cod, pouting etc) like I said I'm new to this, but its definitely a whiting, anyways my point is I thought all the whiting would've been gone and the doggies would be back but nope haven't had a doggie since October down these ways. Keep up the good work mate your videos especially the rigs have taught me a lot , like I said I'm new to this and you are one of the main guys on RU-vid I've learned from, and I find it really hard to concentrate and take some things in having adhd/autism and your rig making videos really explain things well so thanks again mate, all the best and tight lines!!
@seaangling
@seaangling Год назад
It certainly sounds like you are doing well and learning quick if you only started last year. Learn your watercraft and experiment with rigs and I am sure good things will follow. The timings and type of species are changing. Only today a sand tiger shark washed up on a beach local to me, not usually seen in our waters. Interesting times. 🦈👍🏻🎣
@ButchDingle76
@ButchDingle76 Год назад
@@seaangling That is crazy about the tiger shark!! its like that 900lb tuna that was caught off the Pembrokeshire coast last year there is definitely something strange happening to our seas, only a mile down the coast where i fish from, the tackle shop were telling me last week a fella caught 4 pollack!!
@seaangling

Hi Mark, now you have used the six and bait rods for a while, what do you think of them?
@seaangling
@seaangling Год назад
I have the 14’ multiplier mk2’s. They are better than my previous Fireblades and cover what I need. From Chesil to the Solent I can see a bite from a small pouting or tackle a hound. I will give them a go this year for barn doors in Scotland, that might be interesting and a good test. The tip does indicate well but certainly isn’t a light tip. I think they are good for the price point.

@ricardomarques4786 Год назад
I love your videos. I have a question, where do you keep the fish you decide to keep?
@seaangling
@seaangling Год назад
All fish are put into a bucket of salt water that I fill at the start of the session and refresh from time to time. The fish are released once they’ve had a chance to revive. If I want to keep something for the table I dispatch using the Ikejime method and keep as cool as possible.
@ricardomarques4786
@ricardomarques4786 Год назад
Sounds to me like that deserves its own vídeo. From the way you keep them to the fish lobotomy procedure. Do you feel a difference in taste after cooking them?
@seaangling
@seaangling Год назад
@@ricardomarques4786 there are a few benefits. It does taste better as the fish is dispatched before getting stressed. It keeps better for longer and doesn’t smell.
