Follow me on my journey discovering new and varied species whilst learning how to fish popular areas and share the up and downs of coastal fishing.
My local area consists of the Solent and Southampton water but in my quest for different species I will travel far and wide to experience all that UK coastal waters offer. I am a keen amateur and so there will be many aspects of what I do open to critisism. I appreciate all positive comments and look forward to learning from other like minded anglers on the quest for improving yours and my success rates.
I have now purchased my dream boat, a Warrior 165 and will add boat fishing videos on a regular basis.
Please feel free to comment and ask questions, there are plenty of subscribers that may be able to help if my limited knowledge isn’t enough.

Eazy mark you ok pal, nice one for the footage again. Well done on your new p.b. it is still flounders n sole for me of the last loads of sessions. I seem to he the flatfish magnet since February I don't no what's happening lol. All the best from G.Y
Cracking session Mark, conditions looked really still and the mighty rag come through with no fancy cocktails required! Congratulations on the shore PB too, gives us all some hope of big fish from the shore.
It doesn’t have to be fancy but it does take more than one visit sometimes. I’ll be doing another hound video soon right back to basics and using hard back crab which is possibly one of the easiest baits to collect. 🦈🎣👍🏻
My apologies Steve, a month without uploading feels like a long time. I fished this mark 2 days previously and couldn’t get past the weed, persistence paid off. 🦈🎣👍🏻
Lovely hounds Mark , I've had a couple of Hounds around the 8 lb mark but no double figures yet, another great watch, keep it reel , look forward to ya next adventure.
Cheers Rick, nice to hear from you. The Solent does seem to hold a good population of hounds that are of a decent size. The British shore record came from the Meon area. I must admit that lighting was an issue on this session which I am trying to sort out. Take care. 🦈🎣👍🏻
For clean ground I prefer the fathom SD 12’s and I’ve gone down in line diameter to ASSO ultra-cast 14lb. When I do use the CS’s I have them loaded up with 20lb mainline but not as often. I did take them to Norway where they worked really well.
Well done mate on the pb lovely session like you work etc has kept me of the beach managed a nice bream 2 weeks ago, i am down your way middle of july if you want to meet up aiming to get a couple sessions in while down there great video mate tight lines
Drop me a message the week before you visit this way and I’ll see what I can do with work. Hoping for some settled weather and for this wind to do one.
Hi Mark, Nice fish, well done.. Which mark mate? I fished Hill Head last Wednesday, 2 x doubles 12 & 13 ib, in 3 hours, on spider peelers, best nights fishing of my life !
Hill head and Meon are fishing well, Hamble less so. Spider peeler is a killer bait as they are inshore and moulting atm. This session was Park Shore as Meon was packed wall to wall with anglers. I believe there was an 18lb caught recently in the area. 😉
You are very welcome. I have started doing species specific films that I will build on over time. My hope is they will help others that have specific targets or are fishing a location that holds a certain type of fish. 👍🏻🎣
Just invested in a few packs of these, the aero pulleys, termalinks and the kicker bait clips rather than the roto ones. Quite often use pulley rigs myself too, although when i get around to tying them i think I'll still be using beads either side of the slider👍
We have depleted stocks of sand eel along the south coast but they can be a very effective bait. I did have 3 blondes to the boat in 15 minutes on sand eel.
Another gem Mark. I'm yet to catch a small eye ray, taking boat out Sunday weather permitting been hard between work and bad weather also hydroliiics on me trim packed up but after letting out air and refilling oil it's all good.🙏all will be good week end
Nice one Mark looking forward to it. I have been looking at the Penn fathom 2 and listening to you and seeing how they perform looks like I will be getting one thank you. 🐟👍
All of the car parks are right on the beach front but there is also on street parking if you don’t want to pay. Just means a slightly longer walk. Free parking at Milford and combination car park/on street for Hordle - Barton.
@@seaangling I’m originally from a small west coast village some have heard of called Lochaline, but now based down in the central belt outside Glasgow. Hoping to fish the Clyde and sound of mull when I’m up home.
@@seaangling growing up there I always had access to boats, other than spinning from the pier never really shore fished, no boats now so I’ve got to adapt.
The much belied sand eel strikes gold Mark, an overlooked bait and well deserved haul for you. Also the rarer cold northerly in April also a factor keeping the swell down for a change of wind cross tide Congrats on another top video
I think the sand eel is overlooked by some but they are an amazing bait over sand or light shingle. I have had some amazing results off the boat with them as well. Cheap and easy to store/carry but their numbers are in decline and they are not always easy to get good ones. I’ve been told there are huge ships out there harvesting them in massive numbers. 🤷♂️
@@seaangling no mate get thornback rays but not off the shore usually on the boats . In grimsby we have sand from the mouth of the estuary to cleethorpes near grimsby docks entrance. Then it mud to immingham n beyond like the Bristol chanel.
@@seaangling the further you go to immingham that's the deep water winter fishing ror the cod n whiting. Then the spring summer we all sack that end and go cleethorpes onwards for the bass n hounds
I did motor out Sunday morning and had a lesson in limitations. Wind and tide conspired to make the Solent and approaches very choppy. That horrible Solent chaotic wave that makes everything uncomfortable. I called it and packed up early.
