She will talk about the cost of living on the beach in Mexico, and what it's like living in the non-touristy beach town of Punta de Mita.
Jen will give us a tour of her neighborhood where she enjoys an active lifestyle, living just a short walk from two great surfing beaches, Stinky's and El Anclote surf break.

I'm an American living here in Cuernavaca Mexico for many years. I pay 6,500 MXN which is about $325 USD for a 2 bedroom furnished apartment within walking distance to the Zócalo. What I really enjoy is the weather. In the low 80s all year round and in the high 50s at night with very little humidity. Kind of similar to the weather in Costa del Sol Spain.

That is a good price Rick. No more than $500 she should be paying in my opinion. Places everywhere are very inflated.
@Resmith18SR
@Resmith18SR Год назад
@@beaulong3270 I would suggest looking for a Mexican landlord or landlady rather than an American or foreigner. They tend to not charge the inflated prices for rent that foreigners do. Also if you want to live for even less money you can here if you just take time to look around. I personally know Mexican people that live for about 2 to 3 hundred USD a month and that includes everything. I used to live in San Miguel de Allende which is a beautiful small city and rated one of the Best Small Cities to live in the world and of course you will pay more for rent and food if you live there. I'm also looking into visiting Manila and the Phillippines to see if I would enjoy living there.

Jen explains how important learning the local language is not only for convenience sake, but also to learn how the local culture is. I full agree with her.
@saywhat951
@saywhat951 Год назад
NO you don't need to learn, simply use your APP for those holdouts whom won't learn English. If your in a Tourist Town anyone and everyone has learned English to better their chances at obtaining great jobs. When was the last time you walked up to a Corner Tours Hut and the Guy doesn't speak English? Never. So relax have your phone ready and speak away...
@BillGreenAZ
@BillGreenAZ Год назад
@@saywhat951 I've used my app for that and it's helpful. I've visited all over the world and not everyone spoke English where I went because I went to the places where tourists don't usually go. Believe me, it means more to the locals when you know their language without using an app. I prefer to show my respect by learning at least conversational parts of their language rather than relying upon an app.

Hi Jenn. Just clicked on your Air BnB ad. You might want to edit this sentence: "You also have access to your own private full sized bathroom with a equipped with a shower, toilet, & sink." Remove 1st "with a". ❤ Your cozy place is an affordable home-away-from-home option for budget travelers seeking modest accommodations. If one wants to slip away from the hustle and bustle of PV and explore: Punta Mita looks like a chill beach to check out. Great video.

Wow! That’s quite pricey rent for a basic 2 bedroom. I’m retired in Vietnam now, and rent for a one bedroom with a beach view in a high rise runs about $400/month, furnished, with free WIFI. I have previously considered retiring Mexico, in the PV area due to its proximity to the US. But I supposed everyone has their own personal trade off to consider. All the best to her.

Love Punta de Mita, playa la lancha, punta del burro but I don't know where is the place you showed in the video. It would be nice if you showed a map in your videos. Great work. Love your channel.

Yes, A map would have been nice. I would like to do more maps like I have in my Siargao, Philippines videos, showing the surfing spots. Some of the locals asked me not to put the spots on the map so I didn't.

I would say - rather expensive for the amenities and quality present. I wonder if house owners allow Air BnB subrent?

Make sure you see the Municipal License displayed on the Wall, its 6" x 8" colored Blue. If you don't see it don't stay you take a chance of being evicted because of an Illegal Rental, Tax must be paid to the Municipal Township. Also Airbnb stipulations require any Airbnb to DISPLAY the Business License.

It’s nice but it is overpriced in my opinion. $450-$500 tops. I don’t expect dirt cheap in Mexico but prices in many places are overly inflated thanks to expats for the most part. :/

It's getting expensive in vallarta / nuevo nayarit. The beer is still relatively cheap but the rents have gone way up. Its one of the most desireable áreas to live in México. Beaches, jungle, mountains, and so much culture. Live music , theater, cabaret, dance, art galleries and the food scene is amazing. Bay and jungle adventures. The locals are super friendly. Perfect weather. Its a very special place.
