Beaneteau Oceanis Yacht 54 First sail.Testing the balance. 

Our first sail on the brand new Beneteau OceanisYacht 54 on San Diego Bay.
Just out of commissioning by our incredible South Coast Yachts technical team, we took the boat on her first commissioning test sail on San Diego bay in some good breeze.
In this video, I test the balance of the boat by centering the helm using the rudder refence bar on the autopilot and then letting the boat track on her own. She tracked dead-straight and true across San Diego bay for approximately three minutes.
Not many boats will tend themselves for that long in a bit of breeze. The helm is also remarkably light with only finger-tip steering required.
