The greatest running joke is that Brannan dares Tom every time to pick him. The second greatest is Tom immediately being skeptical of Brannan, for 4 whole series.

I always suspected, from the beginning of the entire series, that there would be an episode where the “article” in question didn’t actually exist. I just thought it’d be orchestrated by Tom himself rather than one of the other 3.

Please just give Chris a channel where he can bold-face lie to the camera because it’s deeply engaging every time it happens.

I’m crying at “Alain Benette”, don’t mind me not breathing for the next hour from wheezing

This one had the closest thing to an outro yet! “I haven’t been keeping track of the points and I hope you haven’t either!”

That was truly one of the best plays in the history of Two of These People Are Lying. One for the ages.

In the spirit of this being the final for this format, here are some statistics: Out of 24 rounds, Tom correctly guessed the correct article 13 times, so about a 54% success rate. Considering that he had a 33% chance to guess the correct article he did pretty good. Tom was as likely to choose Matt as he was to choose both of the other two TechDifs. This indicates that Matt is generally good at lying in cases where he is able to think about his lie. Gary seemed to be the least selected by Tom, which may be due to, when it is his article, he chose stories that were pretty out there, and in the cases that he was lying, he stayed with the same level of semi-realistic absurdity which made him harder to be believed. But this does lend to the motion that sometimes the real life is crazier than fiction, and Gary has a tendency towards those kinds of articles (and the types of things that would interest him, which Tom generally assumes is something he uses to fill lies)

How has this already been mentioned as a "Reference in Popular culture" on the Rue Saint-Nicaise Wikipedia article...? That's astounding.

Whenever Dewsbury is mentioned, I always think of my late grandad who grew up in the nearby Osset and he thought the phrase "you were found under a gooseberry bush" was "found under a Dewsbury bus" as a child

Right now I'm spending 10 months studying abroad in another country, and lemme tell you all of the Tec Dif content has been a real comforting presence, fun and chill content in a language I can understand while I'm under academic pressure in a language I'm still learning. So yeah, thank you so much for still putting videos out and I'll be ready for the new formats that come along! It's nice to have a familiar presence in the holidays season when your family and friends aren't close to you :)

As someone who lived in Batley in 1983, Matt's story really tickled me. We used to visit Dewsbury Market almost every weekend, which is opposite from the (now demolished) playhouse.

So when you factor in Chris's bullshittery in this episode, the one about the Hagia Sofia, as well as the one with the Sami reference, then over the course of the entire series precisely the right number of lies were told. The math checks out!

Honestly your interactions, the fact that you can mess with each other and joke around like boys, is what makes Technical Difficulties videos enjoyable and endearing. It makes me feel like I’m on table with the friends from uni I never had.

I love that as gary got closer in the not-yet-sponsored segment the subtitles also got bigger!

I love how while Matt is losing it, Gary is staring at Chris speechless and with supreme admiration

Not knowing who Allan Bennett is I thought Matt was saying a play written by "I'll invent it" and making it into a "reasonable name"

I thought Chris was making the plot up because of one fact I'm surprised Tom didn't pick up on: In 1801, there was no Emperor Napoleon, he wasn't crowned Emperor until 1804.

Season 1 Chris mentioned the possibility of all 3 of them lying and mentioned needing to remember that. Looks like it paid out

If this is truly the last, then that is sad, but at least we got one more than I thought we would. For Two Of These People Are Lying is a treasure.

I'm afraid Nicaise is pronounced nik'aɪz Not a complain by any means, I just happen to live somewhat close to a Rue Nicaise and was surprised to learn how many there are in Europe after looking this one up In a strange turn of events, the street itself no longer exists (destroyed in 1853), which led to many French to forgot this was even named "the plot of the rue Saint-Nicaise", instead it is best known as "La machine infernale", the biggest farce in assassination attempt history (France history at least)

I love how your captions have colors for the different speakers. It really helps to keep the different speakers straight.

I really liked this series and citation needed, I was genuinely more upset when they stopped the series’s than I was when firefly was cancelled

Can we just talk about how with both of these new episodes using a 6 envelope system and both episodes picking the same person for both halves, we have witnessed an event which had a 0.44% chance of occuring

Alan Bennett (the real Alan Bennett, not the fictional French one) wrote The Madness of George III, so I don't think a play about the plot to assassinate Napoleon is as unlikely as Tom seems to think it is.
