I think Kevin Fishbain got the award because of his awesome interaction with fans. Writing articles using their mock drafts, allowing fans a platform to speak with him through The Athletic app after games, and he’s stat nerd that brings relevance to how good or bad things are going.

I think it's worth a mention. The strength of the Bears schedule as we stand today. Bears played the following Wildcard weekend teams: Packers(2 games), Lions(2 games ), Chiefs (1), Bucs (1), and Browns(1) and played Div playoff weekend teams - the Packers (2), Lions (2), Chiefs, and Bucs. Out of Bears 10 losses, 6 of them came from 4 top 8 teams in the NFL. Doesn't make me feel any better but still a strong schedule that no one expected.

But wasn’t that the problem we all saw from Getsy since he’s been here? He doesn’t know how to adjust from his original game plan when the defense adjusts to it.

I don't think Kevin's not so fun fact's were supposed to really lend points to the 'trade back and draft more help for fields' camp but that's what it really seemed to do.

Caleb is good on the Field, but is he a strong leader in the locker room & off the field? I’m hearing that some of the players of Caleb didn’t get along with him in the locker room 🤔if he isn’t a good locker room leader on & off the field than Poles won’t draft him, remember with Poles it’s not just how good a player is but how good of a person they are, example Jalen Carter, didn’t like who he was as a person (didn’t say it like that but that’s why they passed)🤔🤔🤔

To answer the question about bigger gaps between WR1 and WR2 on the Bears, Brandon Marshall in 2012 had 1133 more yards than Earl Bennett. That's with no players from other positions between them either.

CENTER IS A MUST MUST MUST MUST PICK AND YOUR NJTS IF YOU ODN'T THINK HARRIS OR THE OTHER TWO BIG WR INT HIS DRAFT WOULD NOT HELP FIELDS AND KMET. THATS LIKE A MINI RICE AND TAYLOR. IT WOULD SLOW DOWN THE PASS RUSH DOWN AND GIVE FIELDS MORE YARDS RUSHING
@Magicmike12
@Magicmike12 6 месяцев назад
Coaching is everything, if we had a great OC that uses his strengths Fields would be great, I played Tight End at NIU, we were 2-10, we ended up getting a new OC kept same QB then went 9-3 next season, because OC can change everything & QB play….

@robdaniel3211
@robdaniel3211 6 месяцев назад
Did your QB have poor mechanics, slow dropback, slow release, and problems reading post-snap defensive rotations? Or was your QB good and then they scheme helped him go from good to great?
@leescott3558
@leescott3558 6 месяцев назад
@@robdaniel3211I understand that you you have your second-hand analysis about a player that you may or may not have already made your mind up about but what he’s saying is true. If a QB has a natural slow drop (JF is not naturally slow), you can scheme ways to speed him up which can help the rhythm of the progressions. That’s coaching. Speeding up the drop also allows more time to process post snap. That’s coaching. Instead of speeding him up, they slowed him down even more by switching his stance. That’s just one of the many ways coaching can influence the production of a player.
@robdaniel3211
@robdaniel3211 6 месяцев назад
He in fact does have a naturally slow drop. Side by side comparisons have shown this for years. The biggest question is would he get better in a timing based passing game like say Shane Waldron uses? Getsy’s offense was indeed a trainwreck in the passing game.
@Ebonysails
@Ebonysails 6 месяцев назад
@leescott3558 Getsy resorted to the horizontal pass game to force Fields into a rhythm. Fields always turns down targets in the hashes.

Guys you’re killing me! The easy comparison you’re trying to make is not JF1 passing to his #1 receiver vs other QB passing to their #1 receiver. The correct comparison is JF1 passing to DJ Moore this year as his #1 receiver vs his passing numbers last year passing to Mooney as his #1 receiver. I bet both years his stats shows it doesn’t matter who the receivers are JF1 always has better stats targeting his #1. He doesn’t get to #2 at the rate he needs to…he’s too often only focusing on his main target!

JF year 1- Nagy as coach-Offense set up for opposite style QB in AD, Not allowed to start 1sr few games. Put in tough situation early JF year 2- Total rebuild, League worst D. Worst O Line. No WR’s. Sacked most in League. 2nd OC who never called plays, tried to make him a pocket QB. JF year -3. Early O line injuries and 4 games missed early. Odd coaching firing, weird vibe. Ends year improving in all categories in spite of anemic Offensive game plans. 2nd highest Passer Rating in 1st (scripted) opposite at end of games. (OC problems). Mid range passing attack non existent (scheme problems) Great intangibles. Great Character, Great Leader, Hard worker. So tell me why people think all he will be is a Lamar Jackson Type? He’s bigger and faster than LJ, Throws better than LJ. I hear $ on rookie contract is reason to pick Caleb. How many rookie contracts in picks could we get over the next 2-3 years for a trade down? What’s that value? Finally, I’m afraid Caleb, with all his other interests, business, fashion and such, he will retire early after a few years, especially if thing are tough for him. Please let me know what’s wrong with my logic. I admit I’ve flipped several times this year on JF (mostly reactions during or after games) but when you look at everything, the lions share of the fault is not on JF. Bear Down!

hoge got rocked by that first fact, hes not very comfy with talking bad about fields even when its true facts, its very odd. and not true , the year before mooney have 1000 yards with fields cause back then mooney was the target fields starred down only, this season its moore and mooney are not even besties with fields anymore and Bagent had no issue finding Mooney across all his games, plus he had 7 to 9 diffrent target pr game, I bet the guys not getting a single pass from fields LOVED that by bagent you have the facts if you want to see them, and just look at how Fields is 99% starring down his first read only, like fixated on it 100% this is why he cant process more targets if he had not decided pre snap. and why cant Formann work RB??? if he is helthy>
