They don’t have enough money for more players because Caleb’s dad is trying to get OVER $45mil rookie contract fully guaranteed, Caleb’s dad is going to be a problem with Caleb’s contracts & his dad is the one that wanted a % of the team that drafts him, he’s an idiot & will be a pain in their asses now & future 🤔🤔🤔
63 catches for 628 yds? No way Odunze averages only 10 yds a reception. JSN was in the slot for Waldron last year which is why he averaged that low per reception.
Can't solve every problem in one off-season guys. I wish they went inside out too but thats just not where the best opportunities were. Solve it for next year and we're set!
Bates can play G, Shelton can really only play C, IF Jenkins is healthy, IF Davis is bought in, Then Bates could play C. Thats 2 Ifs so the team would LOVE shelton to take C and Bates can back up both G spots. Hence, the change to competition, simple.
JAHNS STFU ABOUT JUSTIN’S STATS. You know what the stats don’t show? How shitty the roster and coaches were while he was here. He’s gone now. Holy fuck let the man have some peace
We need another legitimate DEFENSIVE END to pair with Sweat that will also allow Walker to kick inside more often. I'm so sick of this franchise and it's media schmucks trying to sell us on a bunch UDFAs, scrap heap FAs, and late round "potential" players. We all already know how this is going to go again, and again and again every year. STOP wasting your breaths trying to convince us all that the Bears putting all of the eggs in one basket with only one standout DEFENSIVE END is going to carry the defense. Its not going to. The defense needs another difference maker DE to help overcome the fact that the Bears have a sh!tty Head Coach who resume has absolutely NOTHING that proves he.should be a Head Coach. Not one thing. When Bears media has to resort to hinting that Matt Eberflus will lead the Bears to contender status because he can bench press 300 pounds and also grew a beard, your HC probably fcking SUCKS. Ryan Poles turned JIM HARBAUGH away TWICE so that he could hire and keep Matt Eberflus. That is such a bad moronic move that it's almost hilarious. I'm with the rest of the PAYING CUSTOMERS in the fanbase that aren't spending another dime on the Bears until they build some other than another new GREEN BAY doormat and stop trying to constantly treat their paying customers as though they're clueless and lowly fans. After 35 years of buying the BEARS/MCCASKEYS circus, I AINT DRINKING SH!T anymore until this franchise finally PROVES that they are annual WINNERS that represent the HEART AND SOUL market of the NFL instead of the usual MCCASKEY popcorn stand.
Shelton and Waldron have history and he knows the system. It’s not that difficult. Shelton has years of being a starter as well. Pickens and Dexter will never be close to the player Jalen carter is
I don’t know/ according to ESPN analytics per Mina Kines, the Bears OL ranked 2nd in the NFL in run block win rate and 5th in the NFL in pass block win rate last season. Shelton and Bates are an upgrade over Patrick and Whitehair. Not having Fields in the pocket causing extra sacks will make the OL look better to the eye. It can’t be stressed enough how bad Fields is in the pocket.
@paulieprinceton4550 1st, you have to know blocking schemes on play calls. 2nd you have down and distance vs defense calls. Last, the eye test- we had a play where the whole left side pulled and we got blown up. The problem with analytics is they have +/- gained without the knowledge of play design called. We haven't had a solid Center for years and the interior OL has been oft injured. It wasn't till the last 6/7 weeks we had 4/5ths our starting OL. It's gonna be a wait and see before we get chemistry on OL. OL is like a choreography dance of big men.
I still don’t think this defense is legit. They beat up on bad offenses/QB’s who don’t push the needle. This is still a 6/7 win team in my opinion. I need to see it to believe it.
Detroit, top 5. They are a bad offense? Held GB to only 17, at home, without their top CB. They were 7-10 last year, with a worse WR core,QB and o-line, I mean, don’t overthink this bruh. They are legit.
Bears were a top 5 defense analytically after Sweat and Eberflus started calling plays. The defense was the top scoring unit in the NFL during this stretch. Some of it also was the better health. I’m pretty sure the Bears played a game with their top 3 CB’s and both starting safety’s out.
The head coach hasn't proven anything other than he can call defenses and neither has the offensive line. It's gonna be a problem this year and someone needs to ask Flus If he has a plan to stop Green Bay. Rook QB gonna be running for his life
According to ESPN analytics per Mina Kines in a livestream about rookie QB’s a few weeks ago, the Bears OL this past season ranked 2nd in the NFL in run block win rate and 5th in the NFL in pass block win rate. Maybe they are not that good this upcoming season, but they didn’t lose anyone important and upgraded with Shelton and Bates over Patrick and Whitehair. Justin Fields is so bad in the pocket and causing so many additional sacks and hits he has people believing the OL was bad.
@@paulieprinceton4550 Watch all the games last year and forget about ESPN 'analytics' esp because of fields taking off. And that head coach is notorious for not having them prepared the first five games. Bates is more of a guard than a center yet it's a competition. There is zero depth at all on the O-line. All of them no-names.+ They dont practice.
Oooorrrrr...have competition like every other team...if Nate keep doing what he's doing why not get someone in there that's going to be there..he's not a pro bowler..
Poles needs to learn how to evaluate talent and draft the top talent available at every spot. Building through the draft creates cohesiveness and is the most cost effective method
We have to keep in mind that this is a new offense for everyone. The plays might be similar but it’s new players new offense. That’s what these times are for to learn and have cohesion getting used to each other. Stephen Carlson even caught a pass! I think the timing and speeding up his drop back so he’s not holding the ball so long is gonna be key. U can tell he took Tom Brady’s advice to heart. He’s going about his business on/off the field the same exact way
C'mon Man, hes throwing passes with NO pass rush/pressure. It SHOULD look pretty. Can you do it with 2, 280lb edge rushers closing in on his ass!! Hes had special trainers since he was 7-8 yrs old, AND arguably one of the top QB coaches (Hewlitt) in the country since Jr. High! I fuckin HOPE he can throw the ball! Listen to Hoge, and Caleb is, hands down, the NFL MVP Superbowl QB!! Hasn't taken ONE live snap!! 😂😂 AND the kid is throwing to some of the BEST WRs, TEs, and a SEASONED pass catching RB, in the league! Talk about how he HOLDS THE BALL to FUCKIN LONG!! HOGE!!
Hahj, Hahj, Hahj - once again proving your extreme ignorance & stupidity everybtime you open your mouth. There's a COMPLETE difference to what Caleb Williams & Caitlin Clark each are enduring; One is going through the natural, expected growing pains, trials/tribulations of a rookie, while the other has been subjected to vilification, & on-court muggings due to jealousy & racism. Period. Point-blank. Cut & dry.
You guys kept saying bates was going to be the center when he never started in his nfl career and Shelton was a starter at C for two years. It was so obvious. Also Poles only gave up a 6 for bates. Hardly starter guarantee value
The most important part of our OL is to have continuity for CW18. Definitely want continuity, but consistency in the snaps and communication there is crucial.
NO QUESTION WITH THE UPGRADE AT THE QB POSITION THE WHOLE OLINE WILL APPEAR BETTER WHEN THEY REESTABLISH THAT CONTINUITY. FACTS ARE THE LAST QB WE HAD DIDN'T MAKE THEM BETTER... THE LAST QB WE HAD DIDN'T MAKE ANYONE AROUND HIM BETTER...
@@1Stoltzy not really. They were objectively bad last year. Hence why half the OLine was replaced. Jenkins has started every year of his career on IR and has yet to prove he can even play a full year at a high level and Wright was a rookie who made a severe amount of typical rookie mistakes missing several blocking assignments across all the lineman that cost the Bears a number of games last year. Davis isn't even practicing
I think people miss the fact that victories, no matter how small, lead to greater excitement and drive to repeat it. Give everyone the hardest problem to solve and beating it even in shorts gives them a feeling of accomplishment. OTAs give them time to become cohesive as units and as a team. Sure, not always something the vets need, but they gain respect for the rookies as they progress. The young guys get to display their chops to the their vet teammates. These are intangibles in teambuilding. That's the real value of OTAs and minicamp.
