oh dude no shit! i've heard of brian from a few friends. heard he always does great work. used to do a shoot or two live with beartooth but i believe that was before brian, or at least we never crossed paths.
I remember playing shows with Connor 12 years ago when he was just a kid he was so ahead of his time. He used to play for this band down here in South Florida It was called sleep patterns with his brother Ryan Dennis look them up and you'll see even his drumming was incredible back then. It's funny because even then when he was a kid he used to tune alot of the guys snares before a show 😂 words can't describe how happy I am for this dude and how far he's made it I remember when we used to listen to attack attack and how we were such fans of that band. And now he's in the band touring with Caleb Shomo It's so crazy how life comes full circle!
Years and years ago, I randomly stumbled across a video of this kid(who I now know is Connor) getting drum lessons from Aaron Gillespie. Now watching these vids of Connor and then watching vids of Aaron, you can really see the influence Aaron had on him. His playing and his presence while behind the kit remind a lot of Aaron. Very neat realization to have come to.
@@LukaS-yn4ir That's not true, sampling uses midi which has 128 levels of velocity. Modern sampling isn't one velocity unless you're stuck many many years ago. It's sampled, I saw them live on this tour and it was very clearly sampled live too (which it sounded great, I'm not saying that it's bad). Anyone who thinks these are live drums doesn't know what they're talking about.
I'm not even a drummer and I scrolled down to post about how good that mix sounded. I read all the other comments and they're saying the same thing. Seriously praise the guy that's responsible for that!
Fuck this dude is a rad drummer. You can tell he absolutely loves what he’s doing and he’s super fun to watch. I especially appreciate how his playing is super dynamic and he’s not beating the shit out of the drums on every hit, although when it’s appropriate he’s going for it. Fucking awesome Connor!!!!!!!!
The whole kit mix is unreal but that kick drum sound is ridiculous. The kind that if you were at that show, every time it hits, it makes your heart go out of rhythm.
Aaron Gillespie played truth and meinl with his rack tom really low and flat on a snare stand, Conor did the exact same thing. Aaron switched to grestch and zildjian now with his rack tom really high and angled towards him, Connor did the exact same thing. Lol. Conor followed those things exactly. And of course you can tell he tailored his technique and style from Aaron and plays with that same energy Aaron was famously known for. Any drummer can notice that. He even has almost the same exact cymbal set up as well from how many to the actual model and types of cymbals he plays. Maybe not exact but pretty damn close and same sound. Now I know he took lessons from Aaron growing up but I can’t help but only think of Aaron whenever I see connor play. Sick ass drummer tho and everyone has an idol and someone to look up to and learn from either personally or from a far but I just think doin each exact thing like your idol or another artist is kinda wack, every drummer as a musician and as an artist each expressing ourselves in our own way should find some originality in this art form but either way huge fan of Connor.
+Drummer Alpha I can definitely tell it's the sweet ride here because I I have one myself and the finish and bell shape are the exact same as this, great ride cymbal and definitely 'sweet'
