Beast Tribe Quests in a nutshell - FFXIV 

FFXIV in the perspective of NPCs is really scary, especially when we consider the WoL and how deranged some of their actions are lmao

If he thinks the crafting methods are weird. It's gonna feel really strange when the WoL helps them every day for like a month only to never see them again after the final quest. lol

When I was helping the Ixal, I was leveling Culinarian. I was "Cooking up" airship parts. That was... that was good times.

*everyone watching the airship fly* WoL: "I baked that."

Me as a culinarian making audio parts in the Loporrits questline.

The crafting beast tribes are basically one huge "Let them cook" joke.

My favourite quests were doing the Moogle daily quests as a Culinarian when they asked me to make them a statue to replicate. I am 100% sure I handed them a fancy meat statue.

My wife and I used to joke about this with the older beast tribes all the time. NPC: "Hey, can you make us some replacement axles for this airship we're building?" Me: "...sir, I'm a cook. I could try and make an overly stale baguette for you, if you think it'll help." Thankfully, the crafting tribe quests have gotten better about having the dialog be more tailored to the class you're playing and something that class could realistically make, but anomalies like this do still pop up...and they are glorious. XD😂 (real talk, though, I'm more of the mindset that the WoL does more FMA-style alchemy than true crafting, but that's just my head-canon.)

At the moment I remembered all memes about how the culinarian will rebuild Ishgard

With how rare those herbs were, you can probably expect this to be a HQ quest Meaning this dwarf just watched the WoL hammer herbs into some of the best medicine in the 1st

Missing the part where they ask you the same thing again tomorrow, and also say "oh and if you need any more of that ultra-rare herb just grab some more from the infinite herb pile over there"

if you know the trick you can cook anything tank part distillery kegs potions furniture bombs anything but food...

Every beast tribe unlock quest is as follows: *bad thing happen* Npc 1: "damn, this must be [BEAST TRIBE]'s. Go talk to them to get it sorted out" WoL: *nods* *WoL arrived at the designated location* WoL: *moving arms in silence while explaining the bad thing that happened* BEAST TRIBE Representant: "it wasn't our fault, we are good guys. it was [BEAST TRIBE's evil counterpart who are just like BEAST TRIBE but with a different color]'s fault. Anyways, stay for a while and help us build our huts or some shit so we can give you a mount in 39483948393 days of grinding"

--The next day-- "we got more of those again"

Some of the beast tribe quests try to account for this. If you actually read the little roleplay dialogue it changes depending on your class. The space bunnies have been really good about this.

I love how you didn't even bother to transparent the metal bar. oh, and you forgot about dumping a bunch of element crystals over it that all crafting seems to need

I just got done doing all of the ARR beast tribe quests today. Now I feel like there is some sort of void that needs to be filled. XD

My brother told me he did the ixal tribe quests with his only crafting job at the time... Cooking. He fried that airship together real good!

my head cannon has always been that people see the WoL as a (fantasia)addict and give quests to get them to go away, it explains all the flower picking quests..

I'll just fry up some nice airship parts for the Ixal.

The Npc questioning his life and all he knows about craftmanship

Sometimes they will change a single line of dialogue depending on what crafter class you are so what you're doing makes slightly more sense. Not always though.

I remember the ARR days of "I cookes this airship all by myself!"

Step 1. Smash materials beyond recognition Step 2. Step 3. Medicine!

You need tank parts? Sure, lemme just whip out my culinary tools and cook some up for you.

crystals acting as a crafting catalyst is a hell of a drug.

There's also Custom Deliveries that do this. But also after 6 per NPC its just "okay, stop helping us now even though we're in desperate need of this resource. Come back on exactly Tuesday."

This is how I felt when I was taking CUL through the custom deliveries and making coats by cooking them????

Beast Tribes are so incredibly dull and slow to get through, the currency cap and reputation needed an increase like two expansions ago. Its a real shame that sooooo many people in the FFXIV forums try to justify the slog with "I suffered through them so everyone else has to suffer through it too!", really throws out the whole idea of the community not being toxic out the window real quick.

I feel like the npc’s have stopped questioning the reality warping powers of the WoL who can cook up an airship part out of thin air.

Same as Dwarf ask WoL to make a Tankard Plate..... And craft it with Culinarian by using pan to stir-fry materials to make it.....

I don't know what crafting is... I've only leveled things that hit stuff really hard or get hit really hard and somehow survive it.

Ok but carpenter is at the top of the search list so it's easier to level that first and then craft beast tribe stuff with it.
