They obviously just couldn't decide what they wanted to do with the story... They established Haru and Legoshi's relationship throughout the entirety of season one, just to throw it away in season 2...it's weird, if they wanted Legoshi and Louis to be a thing they should have actually built it up instead of just awkwardly shoving it in while pushing away (but not ending) him and Haru's romance... Kinda sucks, as we are left without a satisfying conclusion for Legoshi and Haru's relationship... Now that I think about it we are left without a satisfying conclusion for any of the characters... Hope season 3 gets this and figures out what it wants to do (if it will ever happen)
@@ebenserfontein8145 Not really a spoiler, I found it out after finishing the series that it is essentially just a bloated out side project for her. I don't share the same dissatisfaction as you though since I see everything that's happening as reasonable given the kind of person Legoshi is and all the craziness that is going on around them. The only issue I have with the world is the poor inclusion of the drama in Season 1 but again, how involved should we really expect a High Schooler to be in all of that? If you didn't like S2 though I doubt you'd enjoy S3. Sometimes you just gotta enjoy a series for what it is and I'd say Beastars for me was an enjoyable but messy experiment by a writer still finding themselves. I've heard that her main series Beast Complex is better.
At least, with this fight, they were able to convert a carnivore out of a very, VERY dangerous mindset regarding what the relationship between carnivores and herbivores should be.
That dude in the background of the “I think we should get married instead” scene is all of us when we physically have to restrain ourselves from telling a complete stranger how dumb they are
Right when I heard legoshi say that, I literally did exactly what the dude in the background did and when I noticed that I started laughing so hard all of a sudden. I could hear the birds in the other room get spooked from my sudden outburst which made me laugh louder XD
I mean this as sincerely and as non-derogatory as I can: Beastars is the gayest straight story I've ever watched/read. And the manga only gets... more.
@@despacito2390 now looking at it I could see her being a switch or a dom but she has a submissive side to her and I think that's why I relate to her and like her
My favorite unintentionally funny dub moment this season came from Riz in the penultimate episode while he’s cooking, where he says “Salt is… salty.” It has the same energy as “Hmmm, yes. The floor is made out of floor.”
Eh, it's one of those sentences that does technically mean something but sounds stupid. To be fair to him salt is also one of the things that you taste as well as feel (even if you have a cold and can't actually taste specific flavors, you can usually taste like the simplest derivations of flavors, like you can eat sugar and taste that it's sweet even if you taste nothing else) which is I think what they were going for. Just like "life needs things to live." Technically it's trying to say that life is only meaningful because of the experiences/people/things in it, but on paper it just sounds stupid.
Unfortunately she'll be in the next season even less. I was shocked at how much of a side character Haru starts becoming when I started to read the manga.
Also, side note, legoshi, when you where blindfolded and kidnapped....you could have bit him. You kissed him, you could have bit him so far it left a scar, the guy would have been easy to find after
@@blakefox3909 No kissing was the smart move; it was a totally unexpected attack. I mean if you were assaulting some guy that you hate, and then he, randomly kissed you and said "yes punish me daddy", how'd you react?... you probably run away; but if he punched you, you'd hit him harder.
I think Juno exists just to throw off the gaydar, she DEFINITELY enjoys writing about sexy furry guys over the girls. This season especially makes that clear.
Interesting fact, in nature, deer actually eat a lot more meat than people would expect. They are known to eat baby birds they find in the woods, mostly to help their horns grow. Horses sometimes do something similar with mice. A guy I know remembers a horse in his barn swallowing a mouse like a vitamin. No show about animals ever Acknowledges this, but to me, it is so interesting that 90% of "herbivores" do actually eat at least some meat. Hell, the creator of this Manga thought Hippos were carnivores because they eat some meat, even though they are classified as herbivores. Not enough to be part of their main diet but enough to show that they did evolve to also eat some meat. Plus, it would add an interesting dynamic to this show, specifically with herbivores keeping this a secret.
@@gunjfur8633 Well, this seems to be something not many people know so I can't blame her. Thought it would REALLY be interesting if the herbivores intensionally hid that information.
@@rolay7730 It would be neat if someone made a nother story about animals, but instead of making it about a false dichotamy between herbivores and carvivores, the story would include the whole dietary spectrum we see in nature
While hippos are classified as herbivores, there has been recorded evidence of them eating left over bits of wildebeest and zebra that the crocodiles miss when they are migrating. It's more like herbivores eating meat isn't much predation and more opportunistic as a little meat can be beneficial to herbavores.
Legosi: I gotta find tem's killer and fight them Everyone: or call the police??? Legosi: I found the killer! I'm gonna starve myself then fight them in my weakened state! Everyone: dude just call the fucking police! Legosi: I'm losing the fight. I guess ill have to eat the leg of my friend Everyone: bro what?? The police?? Just call them please!
I had no shame saying Riz will always be the most underrated villain in the series. from his drug problem to murdering his best friend. melon just joker on crack
The drugs is what the government forced on the bears. Those side effects are rough though. Weird he didn’t reach out to the other bears, since they all going through it
@@sandywolfr26 ikr but I guess he was too shamed to talk about it because other bears just going to pretend like its nothing but its just secretly hurting them
Honestly I hated Riz, and that says a lot cause usually I love villains. So he's a damn good villain. He genuinely terrified me with his "gentle giant" persona.
@@Bard420 tbh that is scary part about him. One min he's your best friend but then next min he'll break your neck & planned as suicide. Basically he's two face on streoids
@@TheWaverunners I can at leastly get the Rouis part since they’re is no L’s at the beginning of Japanese names, but man was Hal=Haru had me confused/messing up
Not even the manga lives up to its own namesake. After the Riz arc, the story suffers an identity crisis over whether it wants to be a murder mystery noir with slice of life character drama or a fighting shonen. Like Sarcastic Summery says, all the shonen shit feels really out of place. Beastars shines brightest when its focused on the mystery and character drama. Im okay with the occasional fight like with Legoshi and Bill on the stage because it felt natural for the story but like, it leans way too hard into "training" and powering up and shit in the final arcs tbh.
Legoshi making out with his Buff kidnapper to the point they just leave even when he blindfolded say "GiVe It To Me GiVe It To Me YoUr SaLiVa~" to the point it's moaning while the kidnappers out here drowning like "BwAwAwAWaAaAh" if that ain't gay idfk what is!😭
I mean they Lowkey gave haru like ten minutes worth of dialogue this season... it’s no wonder more people are shipping the deer and wolf. That final episode yo.
Ok, finally watched the whole season and I just have to say.... We deserved more Haru. Also, how did this get even hornier and gayer? At this point this is just a talent
Honestly I was expecting Rokume (no, the snake's English name is still stupid) to get more screentime but nope, she jumped out of the story just like in the manga And i find it kinda hilarious
But they found time to insert a LxJ dance scene that was not in the origianl material even if that pairing goes nowhere. I hope I'm wrong and pointless shipping doesn't take over the series.
Like he's fulfilled his purpose he gave the main quest thus loosing meaning of continuing existence. I like the build up how Rokume was introduced through little hints as though he really mattered smth for plot. The way the things revolving around the school are overseen. However when the actions passed his character he disappeared in the event horizon with no signs since
@@itsjustvin7630 Ay-up. I surely have mistaken. It may be like this. During my late glimpse of the show I stumbled across some sort of fan dub where the snake was voiced by man. Thought it was splendid
I agree that the English name sounded stupid as hell. I think by the sounds of it, because I was watching dub, "six eyes" or whatever the English name was, was pronounced "Rokume". So I think that's the meaning of the Japanese name, but they translated it too literally, if that makes sense. That's just my guess though haha
@@Yourlovelyghost Reading/watching this show while ace must have been one hell of an interesting experience considering it’s 90% sexual tension 10% story
I can't wait for the next season where Legoboy gets a part in F•R•I•E•N•D•S, then after that, meets Batman's fursona who is insane and racist, reconnects with Joestar's fursona who is arguably one of the best characters, and the Joker's fursona, who manages to get away with way more than he should be able to
Legoshi being autistic? Yeah. I can see that. Ironically, I actually experienced a lot of the same shit as him: clinically depressed, freakishly strong, social awkward and autistic, and my childhood nickname was actually Wolf.
@Shaper_Void OK lmfao? Anyways, to the gay shippers, paru wanted to throw haru off the show and make lego and Louis date, but the higher ups didn't allow that
The ✨ALL NEW✨ characters! Joestar's lizardsona Batman's fursona but he's less brooding and more insane and the Joker's fursona, who gets away with way more than he should have been able to
Imagine if they brought in the Jojo stands and did nothing with it like what happened in the Manga. S3 worries me with how they'll handle it considering the quality of that ark its the ending in general.
6:07 Ackchyually Legosi accepts the quest to find the killer because the flowers he is holding are left by Louis with a card that says "I'm sorry Tem". Sure Tem was Legosi's friend too, but the real reason he accepts is because it means a lot to his boyfriend. The magazine version of the manga has a note at that panel: "To succeed where Louis has failed, Legosi vows to find the culprit".
Thank you for adding the brief “don’t go cold turkey off meds” PSA. Depending on the med(s) it can be reeeeeeally important to titrate down as your prescriber indicates to avoid really bad effects.
My partner was insistent to ignore the sexual tension between Legoshi and Louis (he immediately picked up on pina though so hes not blind thank goodness) till at some point during the second season I just looked at him with the "oh come on that was hella gay" look to see him nodding followed by him saying "yeah that was pretty fruity" 😂
There's so much tension between Leggo my Eggo and Louisville that you could literally cut their fruity air with a knife. Or a finger. Being sucked on by an oversized creepy Care Bare
i think the author wanted her manga to be more lgbtq but the publisher didnt let her, because if she did that then it woulndt be in the same magazine, and it wouldnt get as much views from people
Legosi is such a virgin.... in one of the Manga Omakes, Haru is reading a magazine that says wolfs are “super hot”, and he takes it as they are always overheating due to their fur.
I just finished it yesterday and had a great rollercoaster of a time. I thought I'd shown my boyfriend the first season but he didn't remember so I gave him a refresher by scrubbing through and playing certain scenes on 1.25x and boy I hadn't realised how slow the dialogue is until then.
If only Pina would tell people he's polygamist. Maybe I wouldn't hate him as much. But he gives no info i that category, which is angering. Of course, Idk if he knows polygamy is a thing.
It's was a little disappointing that so much of the constant in the mange didn't make it into the anime like - - Spoiler - - - The dress Legoshi wears in the bar 23:47 is actully Gohin's wifes dress ;-; Or like how in 25:25 the "sexy posing" is actully because in bear culture showing your belly is a sign of trust and openness. bears only laying exposes like legoshi is here with friends and family.
Yeah there's always huge amounts cut out and also just generally edited to make the show fit into a certain amount of episodes. It's a shame, it makes things feel janky as hell sometimes. Though, the manga certainly has its flaws too, so Also it's not just bears that expose their bellies as a sign of trust, it's stated all carnivores are the same in that. Any carnivore doesn't naturally expose their belly so any carnivore doing so shows huge trust and vulnerability
no but this really was a great lesson on why you should never just stop taking your medicine. Because when you need to take medicine for a long term reason, there WILL come a day where you think to yourself, "Hey, why am I taking these? It feels like they don't do anything." And if you stop taking them, you will remember why you started, and that's a threat!
Honestly, you should give the "doesn't matter" treatment to Jack. The show constantly makes it seem like he'll be a big deal, but backs out. At least Juno actually briefly interacted with Louis. Jack...just never seems to do anything.
you know, it's interesting because everyone seems to have a different opinion on how much control Riz had when he devoured Tem. Since the pills were already causing him pain and at some point, he started to have delusions about the murderer. We almost saw Legosi do the same with Haru, so I'm curious to know how responsible everyone thinks Riz is for his instincts
I think the cutting line is the action. Though legoshi and riz had the same urge of instinct, only one committed. Plus, he doesnt seem guilty about it and end up building a coping mechanism.
I really believe that Legoshi and Louis were meant to be together, I love Haru, but man it felt like Legkshi and Louis had more chemistry throughout the manga and anime. Either way, I still like Haru and Legoshi together, and of the author was allowed to have Legoshi and Louis together, I wonder if Juno and Haru could have ended up together lol Also, if it is true that the author wanted the two boys to be in a relationship but couldn't because of their publisher, the author kind of hints at this dilemma using a side character who goes to a mask club to hook up with this other women because that's really the only place where lgbtq+ relationships are allowed.
If the Legosi and Louis had ended up a couple, I would prefer to not make Haru and Juno into another couple. Idk, that trope of pairing the sidelined love interests together always felt weird to me.
We know the manga is really about Legoshi and Louis's journeys and development. Juno and Haru just barely got to do anything, and were quite ignored in the latter half of the manga series.
This only heightens my pondering of why legoshi, haru, and Louis don’t just get into a poly relationship. Because they all clearly are into eachother and it would solve a lot of problems
Yeah I thought you where playfully exaggerating Louie X Legosi but just finished S2 and they are super extra cosmic rainbow explosively GAAAAY thanks for the super fun video
[15:34] Melon actually, somehow, got an EXTREMELY small cameo this season. The 22nd or 23rd episode where Legoshi is about to fight Riz, the train scene, there's a gazelle wearing a mask. Yes this can be literally any gazelle wearing a mask, but he's also one of the main ppl we see wearing a mask in Beastars
He was making the wrong choice not to give his girlfriend the attention that she craves from him he could have given her all the information about what he was doing the help she could have got from her would be astronomical.
I saw the thumbnail of this video before starting the season, and I expected it was the usual case of fans looking too deep into it….then I finished watching the season and I have to say, it’s incredibly accurate. I can’t blame anyone for shipping Loui and Legoshi
