I'm trying to figure out if its a running joke for his channel, or if he's genuinely getting it wrong. In the Japanese video, he talked about how this was a different type of Daimyo to what was found in AoE3 (where they were soldiers), as though "Daimyo Manor" was a building itself rather than simply a manor owned by the warlord (Daimyo). It's possible that Drongo doesn't know that a manor is a type of house, except that I'm pretty sure in AoE3 the British made "manor homes". Surely he must have encountered the term there and have made a joke of it from then?

Someone tell Drogo about the new wall building updates. You can just grab one long wall across however many obstacles and it will work. And stone mines, gold mines and berries also will attach to walls. Not to mention you can build off of your allies walls finally

@@AaronRohan No you can't. Buildings cannot be used to block paths. It's only forest, cliffs, and resources. I don't think you can wall a mining camp but only the gold/stone, but don't take my word for that, but take my word you cannot wall to a keep and make that non-passable.

@@thegorn All of that is correct, however you can wall closer to buildings and things like mining camps in this update, think the min gap is 1 tile now. so a pain to get troops through xD

The Japanese has a siege infantry that shoots a giant handcannon that does AoE and if massed can take out enemy groups better than magonels.

Vold blundered when not making siege earlier but i think he realized the own weakness of Jpn as they can fight very well but they don't siege well so TC and some towers can easily put a dent in your early Jpn Army. He also allowed Beasty to just feast on trade without scouting and allowed beasty to just get free gold which basically meant free units and massive army out of nowhere. Then when vold had another lead he wasted time attacking a stone wall instead of destoying important buildings. Also keeping some spearment planted back by your artillery is always a good idea cause like the lancers rushing past they will mess up your entire advance.

Thanks for the video, and i love your casting, you put so much life into it. I just wish walling wasn't such an integral part of this game. Im glad they made wall destruction so much more devastating. Next we possibly still need a building time increase The extent of walling just eliminates so much counter play. Devs know it. Just matter of time.

What were the Japanese trebuchets doing for the last 7 or 8 minutes? He had 3 trebuchets right outside Beasty's base not hitting the town centre or the landmark.

I'm new to the game so I don't quite get how Japan lost this while winning most of the engagements. 30 military spam just out attritioning in the end?

The other player had double the villagers, so he had much more resources and could replace lost troops immediately, meanwhile his enemy was low on resources due to his weaker economy. Also the unit combination wasn't really good, Japan should have gone samurai and bowmen to counter the crossbows, later mixing in spearman against the camels would have been nice.

Ayubids got some nerfs incoming, I'd assume. The heal mechanic is not capped and waits to be abused and that casino is just horrible in terms of balance design since the faction got no downside for it. Golden gate was point of some discussion and that's nothing compared to this.

I am disappointed they made samurai melee units like in every other similar game. The Samurai were rich noblemen and thus were primarily mounted (think knights) but Samurai preferred horseback archery rather than lance combat as it was safer. I don't know where the idea of Samurai being foot soldiers came from but it's so incredibly wrong

I mean you watched villager chopping wood to see the face who cares dude show me the game ? I mean you dont watch football and check the camera team if its a girl or men who cares dude. Occasionally its average game is anyway 20 mins so focus just 20 mins to the game bro....

yeah it does feel like a more all-in strategy since he was so far down on economy. although it's much better to have those superpowered vils for late game once you get to pop cap. Maybe 2tcs and then you can upgrade one of them slowly. They are getting free stone anyways while mining gold,so that might be part of it too. It's just an easy and instant way to spend that free stone
