What you did is exactly what HE did, filling in the missing parts with great quality samples...and then turning in into a multi-million dollar hit. That's the part that can't be walked through with a RU-vid video unfortunately, but salute to you for breaking down the muscianship. This is excellent

I reccomend "It's Your World" or "Love Is..." by J Dilla. The sample work is amazing! Also I really love and appreciate your videos both the Beat Breakdown and the Beat Critique ones. I've learned so much!

I always thought that Kanye had someone replay the piano part because it was so hard for me to find in the sample in sinnerman, even though it sounded so similar at so many parts of the piano break, I just couldn't find the right part, But really...awesome job dude! Please don't stop making these videos.
This series is literally my favorite thing on RU-vid. Ive been attempting to start production and making beats since February persistenly and i havent really seen any progress. Im using Fl Studio and im not fluent in music theory at all. Im determined to make some head way and create something amazing stuff so, any advice you can give to help my efforts or tell me what im not doing?
Check out the channel Busyworksbeats.com for music theory help and FL Studio tutorials. I'm a beat maker too and I feel without good music theory knowledge you won't be able to make any that good and it will be pretty limited. You're better of sampling stuff or just manipulating audio and playing with effects. I find that a lot more interesting and gets better results than trial and error with melodies and chords.
Awesome as usual! Maybe do a little more with the outro? Cut around to clips of you playing the guitar, bass, hitting the sampler, etc. You can still use the bottom part for the 'check out the site' overlay.

haha definitely. Questlove himself had a hard time comprehending the puzzle Dilla had put together with an MPC. With the luxury of technology that we have where chopping is a dream, i'm confident you can get it. This guy actually has a kinda decent choppy remake, but definitely something to look at if you get around to it. and keep in mind that in the original sample the drums are more present in the left headphone when it was recorded in stereo, /watch?v=o64jxUjlzYg
