Beating Civilization Stage in LESS than 2 Minutes (Spore) 

yeah like twelve years later

I remember around 2010 I wondered if it was possible to actually visit and terraform a planet before starting a new file on it. I thought it'd be very fun to see if I could play on a lava planet or have more islands. It took a lot of manual searching to get the right planet, but it worked. I think the lava planet crashed at Civ stage, so I had to delete and start again. The archipelago planet soft locked after the last city 😅

Spore is a very old game with very many exploits, but this one I must try.

Cell Stage still works with a completely land planet. When Creature Stage loads, the intro cutscene shows our creature coming out of the ground instead of coming out of the ocean haha

Usaly you need to conquer 4 cities to get planes

The progress bar is just visual, it still requires controlling 4 cities to unlock air planes :)

@@KinglyValence 2:10 No, the green bar. I played the game like,, 14 years ago on my parent’s old computer which is now being used my by grandparents 300+ miles away, so…. No, I don’t think I still have access to that save file.. The last thing I remember doing is saving all my creations to a flash drive.

Cell Stage still works even with a completely land planet, in the Creature intro cut scene the new creatures just come out of the ground haha. There is a speedrun where we use modified terrain throughout. In combo with beating Tribal Stage with only 1 rival tribe then less than the normal 10 cities in Civ for example in this video :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TrRUQ2deFl8.html

If we attack a tribe that is supposed to advance into a city, the tribe will damage half the tank's health and the tribe will remain, so we can't destroy those :)

Cell Stage will still work even if there are no oceans left. The starting cutscene of Creature Stage will have the creature come out of the ground lol.

Yeah Cell Stage seems unaffected by the terrain changes. The creature will come out of the ground instead of the ocean at the start of Creature Stage :)

I remember it being kind of difficult to stay changed when I did this as well. I think there is a maximum number of terrain tool uses on a planet before it reverts back, but not totally sure. Possibly around 50 if I remember my tests. I think I remember it would revert more if land was removed, but adding more land like this video was easier for it. Maybe try changing the terrain then leaving and saving in Space before returning into the planet may keep the terrain modified if you were trying to modify a home planet to work for a different Stage?

The game appears to add land back in when loading up Civilization Stage when there isn't enough terrain space so Spore seems to be able to prevent some softlocks. But maybe there can be a way to reduce more city spawns this way! Definitely worth more experimenting :)

@@adolescent3934 I don't think Creature Stage adds back in land. I've made it so there's tiny starting islands that don't even have enough creatures to pass Creature Stage haha. Tribal Stage can occasionally add land back in but I'll test it some more!

The game will sometimes generate enough land at the start of Civ to make it possible. But I bet it's possible to softlock if we can get our city on an island with no port.

That's an interesting idea! I don't currently know of any mods that will do that, I do just place all the buildings down every time lol.

I remember a Spore mod that has a mass colony placement tool as something you can buy in the later part of the Space Stage so if you rapid-fire it, you could get up to like 10 colonies or more on a planet.

@@eliteknight2137 Unfortunately no. I wish there was a layout button so I don't have to play "Which spot is the best spot for the factory and houses again?"

@@stylesrj exacly and also why our mighty empire with 50+ star systems has only 1 spaceship while others with 1 planet have entire armies? When we reach 10 level of mastery we should be able to send our own empire armie to conquer other planets or colonize them, and it would be more efficient with taking over grox.

The fast tanks have 150 health, 10 attack, and 45 speed. The powerful tanks have 187 health, 47 attack, and 5 speed.
